We pay £2 for a loaf of bread.... which i beleive is just over $3!!!! everything is sooooo exspensive in Blighty!

We pay about $3.50 for a loaf of bread although we do get it for just under $3 on sale.

Also Cigarettes £8 which is about $13 for 20!!! thats the reason i quit!! lol

Many states here charge that much for 20cigarettes and more. The state that I live in is not so high. We could still get them for about $3 per pack of 10. Less for generic

Eta- oops there are 20 cigs to a pack.

Just one person's opinion piece, one of many by many, just thoughts and observations, made me think of y'all who are having troubles with USPS of which, to date, I've been a blissful non-participant, non-recipient.

Good morning, Peeps. :)

Interesting article, Pokey. For a long time, I have been saying that they should just put glue on the back of the dollar bill and call it a stamp. The Postal service won't go away, it's been around, since colonial days. U.S. Route 1, which is only a few miles from me, has another name, which isn't used much these day, "The Olde Post Road", because it was the main route for mail, between Boston and New York, way back when.

Good morning, my Gwen !!!!!

Same here Fran, just a bit of drift left on the north side of the garage.

We have an old metal shed, one of those that you put together yourself that's about 40 years old. Keeping the roof snow load off of it is essential, this winter I pulled the metal eve strip off the back with the roof rake. Got the ladder and pliers out today and got it straightened out and back on. It will hold fine once the weather gets hot enough for me to re tar the roof this summer.

I had been thinking about digging a shallow ditch along the side of the paved part of the driveway, fill it about 2/3 with cement, and using a piece of pvc pipe to form a shallow swale for rain and gutter run off. Would certainly move a lot of water away from the most offensive leaky area to the basement. Katie decided today that she really doesn't like the idea, so much less work for me. I'll just rework the grade up next to the foundation and run the gutter extension further out on that side. Something like this was the plan...
