I was over at the junkyard and the weather alert went off on my cell...Tornado warning and I was in the direct line of fire....so....I hauled azz outta there!!! Severe thunderstorm, flash flood and tornado warning until 8pm...

I can't put a "like" on that one, Dee! Light rain off and on this afternoon here, but supposed to turn to heavy rain later in the night. Nothing severe for us tho...hopefully.

All that nasty weather came close to us but, we barely even got rain from it. Funny (not really) thing is that before the rain even got here, we lost freaking power for 6 hours. Ugh. I swear that I truly am Mrs Murphy! I was cooking some meals up for my mom when it cut off. Not sure why since she still will not eat. Still in a great deal of pain mostly because she is stubborn as a mule and will not take her pain meds until the pain is way out of control. Yeah, this week has been a challenge for sure.

On a good note, we have just endured 8 straight days over 100 degrees. Cooling down to high 80s tomorrow which will be great :thumb:

BTW- My sister and I are taking shifts staying with my mom. I will be scarce but, no worries ;)

Oh I'm happy to hear that Mama Gold is going to be ok!!! :). (((Hugs))) to you Salem for enduring the worry week from hell.

I feel your pain with a Mom who still smokes. As you do, I have everything at my fingertips that she could possibly need to make quitting so much easier...but until they WANT to, it makes no difference!

She is never going to want to is the problem. She loves her cigs too much. She has a bad habit of looking at everything like as old as she is, why bother. Hell, the morning that she had the CT scan, she knew whatever the issue was going to require surgery. We got to the surgeon and she said, I can't have surgery today because I ate. I asked her what she ate and she said pound cake and coffee. Hell, if I am going to die, I am going to eat lol Now, she had been on clear liquid for 3 days so I guess that she was hungry. She is also a diabetic though

Pfffttt... while she was in the hospital, she kept sneaking full sugar lifesavers. Her blood sugar went so high both times that they had to give her insulin. Then she got mad because the nurse took her lifesavers away. Can't do anything with her.

I've heard my Mom say the same thing. "The damage is done, why bother?" "I've smoked for XX years,"

**sighs** frustration at its finest! I still bring her juices that I think she may like and hope that maybe one of them will be the magic one that changes the habit!

I'm glad that your sister is helping you. :)

Today (still too cool for swimming) I want to replace some flowers in planters and a hanging basket in my yard.

I've never been particularly fond of impatients but around Mother's Day I bought some that were already at their peak.....man are they looking ROUGH now! They've gotten long and lanky and when the wind blows, well let's just say that I've seen prettier comb-overs on older men's heads! Lol
Tried something new to me called fox tails as a hanging basket. Not happy with that either. When they get wet they look like dirty old alley cat tails, and they never look pretty again.

I will be replacing all three today, with pleasure.

I tried vincas this year too and am LOVING those!! One out of three something news didn't disappoint.

I broke down and ordered the Coil Master kit...That's how I roll....Came in a nice little case....contents still strohed over the coiling desk...Stroh's...they still making that beer???????

Did I throw down at Sweet Vapes....Damn straight I did...Gonna be sporting a black KSM w/green glass here in a minute...Got one of those cages for the Nauty...The Nauty you gotta have pliers to get apart...Hey no leaks.....Does Aspire offer o=rings.....HellNO!!!!

Trust this....An air compressor is the heart and soul of any body shop...You can buy a dang nice car for what a compressor costs..For a long while I've nursed my old girl along....22 years...and I find out after 20 the pump came from China....Dang SumBeeches...USA in big old letters and it was assembled here with mostly US parts....except for the most important piece...Actually my Dad purchased it from an old BuddyBuddy...I'd just built the shop and was tapped out but in negotiations for a compressor..I was living in Fayetteville and had no idea....I just knew I'd never heard of the brand....Lately I've been specing the compressor I purchased from the Wilmington water plant...That thing had more safety do dads than one could count....Yeah they're all laying beside the compressor tonight....any single one of them could cause a no run situation...and about a week to figure out what's wrong......plus ....Who needs a belt guard?? Where's the danger in that ??? Stripped too the bare essentials and dang near ready for a test fire....That's what I sweated over all day....and....tomorrow as well...Taking care of all this stuff is Hella work....and I get to build a new compressor room before finishing !!! I got sheet to do !!!

Foxtail I've never seen....Foxgloves now we have plenty of...pretty snazzy when in full bloom

Glad your sister is helping, Salem. At least you can try to get some rest. I swear your Mom and Katie are related ;)

Sooo very frustrating. She just refuses to follow docs orders in every situation. I often wonder why she even bothers going to see docs at all. sigh

She quit taking her pain meds because "they are addictive" plus she was convinced that it is contraindicated with another of her scripts ( only because she obsessively reads the inserts) I sat there and went over it with a fine tooth comb myself. Finally found what she was talking about. It only said to let your doc know if you take her other med. Not that they can't be taken together.

Now she is having alot of pain on lower right side ( same place as before surgery) and is convinced that the appendix was never the issue at all. I guess that she thinks 3 days after having an organ removed and NOT taking her pain meds, she should be all better. Ugh! end of rant ;)

Morning all :)

Thanks Dee, I'm slowly adding a few things for another Fasttech order and wanted to know about the coil master before I toss one in the order. Lotta work ahead for you on the compressor room, and getting it set up after the concrete cures!

Salem, I can relate! Katie's broken arm is her excuse for most everything now. And fighting to keep her taking her high blood pressure meds! She reads the inserts over and over, even tho she's been taking it and her statin for years. She is having more and more episodes of confusion and is convinced that it's a combination of her fall last Dec. that broke her arm, and her meds. She has cancelled and rescheduled her annual physical 3 times so far.

Hope your Mom feels better quickly!

Salem....I feel your pain...

Rolling Stones are in town Wednesday night....No vaping in the stadium.....I just read the list of rules for the event....Sounds like your every move will be observed...I'll have to take a pass...

Today I gotta bite the bullet and pay registration for the next 3 years on my little boat....The current administration in Raleigh 3Xed the $$$ for registration....3 years previously was $$45....now $$$$$165...Also gotta get a line made for my compressor..So off I go
