Thank you for all the good thoughts for my Aunt and Lauren.
I got Lauren an appt today and they said hers is viral and fluids and rest is all that will help until it runs its course.
My Aunt is on two types of antibiotics by I'V and another by mouth. The doc said 2 more days waiting for this to pass at home and she would likely have died there. Scary stuff for sure! I'm glad our nagging her to go did some good. shes not out of the woods yet, so I appreciate your good thoughts and a few words to the man upstairs if you will. I've lost too many aunts and uncles. This Aunt is one that I speak to at least a few times per week.

Salem I was happy to see you took some time to rest yourself today. You need to do that! Yes, the pneumonia shot and the flu shot will be given to her before she is released from the hospital. :) Thank you for suggesting it!!! I've told my Mom to get them too.

As for me, I'm tired tonight and can not wait to hit the sack!!! Good night all!

Prayers and thoughts for your aunt, Tracy. You may or may not know that I came very close to losing my husband about 15 years ago. Never did figure out what started it all but, viral pneumonia is one of the issues that he had. He landed in ICU (induced coma) for 3 months. So, yeah. Definitely nothing to play around with. Glad that you got her to go when you did. Trust me when i tell you that I ave never been that scared in my life. It was one helluva roller coaster ride but, it all turned out okay. :)

My mom is a mess. She is making me crazier than I already am lol A few weeks ago, she wanted to go home for a "few days" so, I took her. Well, she freaking bought a pack of cigs and been smoking ever since. Think that I told you we are seeing strong signs of dementia. She needs to come back to my house but, I told her the cigs are not coming. She was doing so good too. 75 days with only a few cigs.

Now, I have not forgotten the hold that cigs can have on a person. But, she has alot riding on this. It increases her odds greatly that the cancer metastisizes (sp?) plus, her lung doc just told her last week that she most likely has smoking related dementia ( not AZ, thank goodness) She is not buying cigs when super stressed or chomping at the bit for a cig is what gets me. She just buys them because she wants one.

When we were at her lung doc last week, ( same one that she was vaping her Ego in his exam room during exam lol) she kept telling him that she was vaping. I know that she wanted him to say something negative about it but, he said, well, that's good.

I had to take my eldest sister for eye surgery yesterday in a town about 45 minutes away. We were gone for 5 hours and did not get home until late. I went to my moms and it smelled and looked like a bar in there. It's just insane, I tell you.

I know that she is very depressed. She is being tested for dementia in january and I am hoping the neuro will be able to put her on a med that actually helps.

Aren't you glad that you asked?

Salem, I did not know that you went through all of that with your hubby 5 years ago. Wow! Scary is right, and I know how terrifying it is as my Dad laid on a vent for 8 days a few years ago. Horrible!

I'm sorry your Mom is being a pill for you too. Perhaps in January she will get the meds to help. I hope so. :(. I didn't realize there was a smoking related dementia. Dam cigs! >:[
You hang in there and always remember we are here for you to vent to, any old time you need us!

Morning folks :)

Yes Salem, I am glad I asked! It's good to get that frustration off your chest. It doesn't solve the problems, but it helps the mind cope better. It's very sad that humans as a whole are so hell bent on doing the things that we know will harm us. Hoping that things get better for her and she gives up the cigs

Thanks, Tracy. I did not know either until this doc explained it. He said that his dad has it. The cigs affect the brain (blood vessels, arteries) in the same way that they affect the rest of the body.

The scare with husband was actually 15 years ago. He was only 38 years old at the time. It took me many years to even be able to talk about. Definitely gave me and son PTSD. For years anytime that I heard beeping and honking ( like the vent makes) it would really rattle me. He does have lasting damage but, we are both doing okay now though. ;)

Sleep well Fran :)

Yep it's gonna be a chilly weekend here. Sat night low 31, Sunday night 29. I'll be saying a final farewell to my cosmos and nasturtiums. Took my air conditioner out today, and put up the heavier insulated curtains for Katie. My back and hips are not very happy with me right now!

I hope your back is better in the morning Bov! At least you will be cozy warm when this cold snap hits. I saw 27 in the overnight forecasted for Sunday. Ugh!
I still need to take ac s out and get furnace cleaned. I might have to put the microfiber sheets on the beds this weekend.

Salem, I was going to mention those beeping, honking noises in my post about my dad...they definitely gave me PTSD too. Everytime I hear a similar sound, it startles me and I'm right back there in that hospital room. I'm glad hubby recovered. 38 is awful young to go through that.

TGIF is coming at us!!! I have to get to sleep.
Good night everyone!
