Sweet dreams Fran :)

Bov my first thought is that it has something to do with the X

Ultra unanimous...it was my first thought as well. I refuse to live in fear, and I refuse to let anyone fek with Katie and me! I had 3 of the neighborhood men standing behind me, I think the truck dudes got the message.

Thanks for the concern, it's appreciated! I'm pretty dang docile until someone pushed my beech button ;)

Good morning, Fran and all.

Bov, we know that you are quite capable of taking care of yourself and of Katie. Pretty sure that you have plenty of common sense too. We just worry about you is all :)

I almost forgot to tell you this. I was telling my mom a little about you. Told her how you are caring for your ex MIL. She said, " wow, there are a few good people left in this world"
I had to agree

My first thought.....Buddies or enemies of the X......

1983....The year "Flip" and his family moved in across from my Mom....Flip went to Heaven early Sunday am...Not something I really wanna talk about....Just say a kind word in his honor

30 year old brakes on an often muddy little Samurai....All was good until I came too the line an un-qualified mechanic had fekked up......I'll get it straight but the dang Harvoni makes my fuse a little short....I just packed it up and went outside.....Who wants to bet the spare Sammy has different brake lines....there are two styles...Those dang pills are effecting my short term memory big time....By the weekend I'll be finished....Hoping that clears on up

    Sleep well Fran :)

Minor grocery trip today, just the little fill in things like milk and bread.

Dee I'm glad you'll be done with the Harvoni soon, and betting you'll be back to your normal self shortly after. I'm sorry for your loss.

Heard of 3 losses from my old home town this month. Two were high school friends, one was the daughter of a high school friend. Tracy, you may have heard about Cara's death in your local news...

    Kind words spoken ;)

My bet is that your short term memory will return once you stop the meds. I know that you are trying to "stay ahead" of most of the side effects but sadly, you are probably going to have to deal with a few.

I made a mistake that I know much better than doing. Saturday when my mom told me of the night sweats, I read the darn reviews on the med she is on. I barely slept Saturday night. The side effects can be very damaging (even deadly) especially to older people. I had myself in such a tizzy that I almost called my mom at 2am and told her to stop taking them.

Sunday morning, I could not get her on the phone. I am 13 miles from her but luckily my eldest sister lives on the same street. I called her and asked her to go check on my mom right away. I told her what I had learned. We were both thinking WTH is wrong with that Dr putting her on such a nasty, toxic med????

Anyway, my sister woke her up and she was ok. She was experiencing some side effects but we decided just to monitor her closely. Neither of us told her what we had learned in fear that she would have the worst ones for sure if we did.

My mom always reads the insert with medications and normally refuses to take any of them. This time she promised not to read it. My sister and I both thought wouldn't that be some sheet if the one she didn't read caused her major issues. Sheesh. Two more days to go on that stuff and I will be very glad when she is done. Some of these meds can be really nasty!

That is sad, Bov. They say that tragedy always comes in 3s. Here's to hoping things will be calm for a bit.

I was thinking last week that was 3 people that I knew or was familiar with right here at ECF that have passed away just in the last 6 months. We just really never know.

Flip's son lives a couple of houses down....That's where the family is accepting visitors....It was crowded all day....I can't even talk about it much less go down there......

Word is we're in for damaging straight line winds Wednesday and Thursday.....Yay!!!!!!

Truth.....Sometimes the cure is worse than the disease....You can't trust the FDA.....You damn sure better not trust big Pharma.....Harvoni had little in the way of clinical trial....$$$1000.00 a pill leaves plenty to spread all around the FDA....I'd read all I could before taking any medication....MamaGold has good reason to be paranoid....

    Morning folks :)

Yes, you never know, and it's the main reason I've always believed in telling the people you love how much they mean to you. Family, friends, partners...you need to tell them, often, and they need to hear it! My dad died when I was 5 years old and it shaped my whole life in regard to openness about my feelings.

Salem, I'm so glad to hear your mom is ok!

I agree about having good reason to be paranoid for sure. The thing is that once you get up there in age, your body is no longer able to defend itself against really bad stuff anymore. I am learning so much that I never knew before. For instance, did you know that elderly folks immune system is no longer able to run a fever in order to fight off infection? That is why a UTI brings on such strange symptoms such as confusion. I was shocked by that. I swear that there needs to be a book with all of this info in it handed out to caregivers.

BTW- Remember when I told you guys about the friend that I lost on another forum before I joined here? She died from an undetected UTI. It got into her blood stream. Sepsis caused her death. By the time that she got to the ER, it was too late. She was only 48 years old.

Thanks, Bov. I just talked to her. She sounds good! My sister is there now :) She is SO much more alert since getting the UTI under control that it is almost unbelievable.

I have to take her for an ultrasound of her heart on Thursday and a MRA of her neck on Friday. I don't have a good feeling on how those are going to turn out. But, we have made it this far so we will get through it.
