Yikes, hate that for you, Bov. I am fighting to keep my eyes open right now. Glad Chases issues were easily treated :)

The wind has been horrendous here today. Trees are down, power outages, etc. I had to go to Dr today and could barely get out of my driveway. My mom went without power and cable all day today. That meant she also went without a phone. I hate it when that happens. She has a life alert but, it communicates through the phone lines.

Winds are whipping here too, and a line of thunderstorms is marching towards us.

Chase has Cushing's Disease so the ear and skin infections are secondary issues of that. I have chosen not to treat the Cushing's, the treatments and constant testing are very stressful, and the medication itself can kill of not very closely monitored. Prognosis is the same treated or not treated...usually about 2 years from onset in older dogs. The vet was very pleased that he is still pretty healthy overall, alert, active, playful, still eagerly enjoys his daily walks. He's 13, and we take it one day at a time.

    Sleep well Fran :)

Awful weather here too. Tornado warnings for another half hour or so and flash flood warnings until 2 am...and a 20 year old that wouldn't cancel dinner and movie plans tonight in Philadelphia!!!! I swear she will be the death of me yet. Smh

I'm sorry your mom was without power today Salem. That is very frightening with everything going on!

Bov, my old dog Sheba had cushings disease too, so I know what you're going through. I chose not to have treatment as well considering her age at diagnosis and the vets honest opinion. Hugs to you and chase from Sheba and I. <3

Well well.....yesterday am and thinking about Flip I forgot to take my pill.....1 pill every 24 hours....I was 12 or so hours down the road and took it before bed....Then it hit and I couldn't sleep....I cat napped until I went to the funeral and took my pill for today when I got home....Plan to be back on schedule tomorrow am....4 pills left and the higher level in my bloodstream is kicking my damn azz....Windy before the funeral and the ruff stuff was supposedly gonna be around lunch....Well lunch ain't 5pm and that's when the sheet hit the fan....The power went out about 4pm....Sis called and said a tornado was heading this way....I went out and set up observation...I could see totally clear skies to the left and Hell to pay clouds on the right.....That damn tornado hit ground about 50 miles north and touched ground again in Virginia.....No power....the dang cell tower went down so no phone...sirens in the distance.....all while feeling like a damn train hit me.....We got limbs everywhere....the wind is still raising hell....One thing is for sure....Tomorrow will be a better day

See! I would think that most people don't know that. I found it out while researching why elderly people get so confused with a UTI. Seems like it would be important info to have as a caretaker of an elderly person. Needs to be a handout that all Drs give out IMO. Their immune system is just no longer able to use fever as a defense anymore.

Yeah, I'm one of those that had no clue about that. Definitely something to keep in mind.

yeah lots of water, a whole lot. Lightning too. They had to close a local freeway due to flooding but I've not seen anything about tornadoes near us.
"As of Thursday morning, at least 26 tornadoes have been confirmed from National Weather Service surveys from Texas to the Gulf Coast states, the Carolinas and Virginia."

Sorry to hear that, LD. Just keep that positive attitude and you will do just fine. Amazing how much mind over matter really works. :thumb:

Well at least the tornado passed overhead.....the wind advisory is up until 5pm....I've not surveyed the damage this am but last I saw nothing really big had hit the ground.....Praying for those who lost way much more than I in this latest storm......

Back on track with the Harvoni and I feel 110% better this am......

I found the worst time after Dad passed was when everyone went back to the daily grind....The first time I was alone with my thoughts.....Flip ran things for his family....Today it will set in that he's gone for good....Prayers for their comfort.....When I hit my limbs I'll hit Flip's too....I know he's watching over me....

Dee, you have a heart of gold, I hope those around you recognize that as much as we do here. Glad you're feeling better today too.

Katie's having a bad day dementia wise since she didn't sleep much last night. I had to go to town and get a few groceries, got back and she hadn't been down to the basement to sweep water to the sewer drains, lost her glasses somewhere, and hadn't put a wee wee pad down for Chase.

Took care of the basement, got Chase's pee cleaned up and pee pads back in place, but I can't find her glasses...yet. Yup, I think this day will continue to deteriorate o_O

Glad to hear that,Bov:) Where were the glasses?

If Katie is anything like my mom, you may not want to know ;)

LD, I was waiting for my mom to have her ultrasound and I read your post from my phone. It made me smile but, your posts always do. Thanks for that.
