Ha, ha! Tracy, I see the note at the top of the forum that ECF will be down for changes tonight. No telling what we will come back to ;)

My mom decided to stay home and not come here to my house. The good news is that she is feeling better than she has in a long time. I have a feeling that artery was partially blocked for a good while now.

I could kick myself because she has had some complaints of pain in her chest area. She was so vague about it and was going through all of those tests at the time that I never even thought about a blocked artery/ heart attack.

Thinking back to our visit to the neuro last month, when he told us she had a significant blockage in the main artery leading to her carotids, she asked if that was what was causing her pain. He said no but it seems to me like that should have indicated something to him?

Not sure that anyone would have found it before the attack though. When we got to the ER that morning, the EKG did not even show that she was in the middle of a full blown heart attack. There is something ( can't recall the name) that burst open into your blood stream when you have a HA. That's how they knew she was having one.

Don't be too hard on yourself, Salem.

Gotta say so far I'm not very impressed with the Krixus. It got past the "new coil" flavor last night but flavor is muted, and the tank gets extremely hot. I'm not giving up, will do some reading now that there are many out in the hands of real vapers instead of just reviewers. Also gonna have a good look at the coil under my mag light.

Salem, my mom lives alone and has for a good many years. I am seriously giving that life alert some consideration! Not sure if my mom would be on board with the idea yet or not, but I always worry about her being alone. (Hate it in fact)

My Grammy had one and many times would bump her button and not hear their call. I was her contact person and I'll tell you, my heart would be in my throat after getting the call and driving to her house to check on her...but I am so glad she had it.

Bov, I'm always vaping at the cooler end of the spectrum so I have my wattage set at 20 watts (of the targets recommended 20-35 watts) and the sucker does indeed get hot. I am still really enjoying this one though!

I am not one bit impressed with the RX though. Battery life is terrible and charging 3 at once is not the most convenient either. I mean, really? The coil is a .9 and at only 20 watts I would expect it to last a lot longer than it does. Seems like it's always needing a charge. I would never depend on it alone to leave the house with. Just my two cents!

Have a good night everyone! I'm off to Zzzz land.

I would think you'd be getting longer batt life too, Tracy. Not sure what batts you are using, but I charge about every other day, and that's .5 running about 55w. Granted I don't use my RX exclusively, but I run close to 12-15ml of juice a day with it. I don't use anything but wattage mode, no temp mode running on any of my mods.

Pulled the offensive coil out of the Krixus and put the spare in...no difference, sadly. Took the first coil out and the cotton is burnt in a couple of spots, the ceramic coil is black in spots as well. The coil itself is a bit wobbley in it's seat. Much room for improvement from Horizon o_O

Bov, I have not really kept up with that tank but, I did notice a thread here at ECF about it. maybe you can get some tips there.

I really hate that for you. Not sure why none of the newer ceramic coils can be made as good as these cCells are. Always the way that it goes. They try to improve where improvements aren't needed and end up making a product worse. :(

Tracy, maybe they are made better now? My moms hangs around her neck on a lanyard. She has had it so long that she doesn't even know it's there anymore. I have seen it turned around backwards ( button on her back) and she even forgot to take it off when we went for the MRI and ultrasound. So, she is not at all careful with it and no false presses at all yet.

You got the fear thing right! I wear a cpap at night when I sleep. When I heard the guy at Alert 1 say my moms name and chest pain, I was out of that bed and on the phone so fast it would make your head spin. I am 13 miles away from her and much of the speed limit is 35 mph along the way. I drove with my emergency flashers on and was at her door within 10 minutes of leaving my house. Would have been even quicker except my sister lives a few doors down and I knew that she was already there. We were both able to follow the ambulance to the hospital from her house. Yeah. safe to say that it scared the sheet out of this old girl.

I do hope that you can talk your mom into getting one. If nothing else, Walmart has one that is not monitored but, it has the button on lanyard and when pressed it will go to 911, your phone or both.

ETA- Here it is, Tracy. VTech SN6187 + (2) SN6107 Care Line Home Safety Telephone System w/ Portable Safety Pendant - Walmart.com
Moreover, the telephone system has a wearable pendant that can be programmed to dial 2 different numbers with the push of a button.

BTW- Both of my tanks ( Melo 2 and the Atlantis2) get hot using the cCells too. My mod does not get hot though.

I got a Cuboid a few weeks back and I like it alot. Fairly small for a dual battery mod and vaping at 32W .9 ohm I can just about get through a day without charging the batteries. If I m not at home chain vaping, I am able to get through the day on one charge.

We have the Life Line system thru the local hospital for my 95 year old mom who still lives in an apt by herself. Had it for I guess 5 years maybe more. She hasn't used it before this last 10 mos. when she got down a couple of times and had to be helped up. It's well worth it for the independence along with meals on wheels.
