Things I found out on my first run....Coffee runs down hill in the grinder hopper from the back to the front,,,,the front where it says MAX level.....I pulled out the hopper and Hellyeah coffee explosion....I didn't take into account room for the grounds in my jar size....So I ended up with @ double the coffee required....I just topped off the 1/2 gallon jar and stuck it in the fridge....Also had to spoon the bag empty as it wouldn't come out of the jar otherwise.....I already looked for a good gallon jar and didn't find one in my arsenal....I would prefer all glass....I may have to give in to a plastic gallon pitcher though....Let's hope double the coffee doesn't equal pour it out...There was also the old bag drawstring becomes a wick ordeal...Had the deal up on the counter and noticed the counter getting wet...Thought the jar was cracked at first and the felt the drawstring/wick...Yeah....Ready for round 2

Got the VCT 75 today....Those 26650s are BIG!!!!!!!!! Takes up the space of 4 18650s in the charger...3/4 through the first KF5 tank and barely a dent in the battery....I'm not a big fan of the battery cover though...I cleaned the threads....threaded the cover in and out numerous times wearing the threads in a bit...cleaned them again....Charged batteries and inserted one...Does the cover wanna play nice????? Not a chance....and.....I got plenty of experience with threaded thingys....It's working....I'm skeptical that'll continue....Oil or NoLox??? The cover makes ground so that's out...Is what it is....I'll take extra care and try and wear "em in a bit....Did I mention those batteries are ginormous????

Cold brew triple strength has me feeling pretty chipper....Hit the BB&B and picked up an almost gallon Mason Jar with a spout for filling your cup....Look I know Mason....That thing ain't no dang Mason...It will work for the time being though and I had $45 worth of stuff and got it for less than $24 so good....That hot tip on the belts was a DUD!!!!! I can find plenty on the innerwebs but those I've sen in person are either 40/42 and I wear 36 pants....Yeah....Damn sure if I order a 40 I'll need a 42 and vice versa...

Found my receipt from BB&B....My discount was so good because the Mason Jar pitcher wasn't on it....

Barnett's HD in El Paso, Tejas has belts galore....was $80 now $29....trust I've been in the HD shop and the belts like everything else are overpriced....I'm gonna order one before Monday shipping....Dang old Capital One...I finally got that beech to zero last month only to get smacked with a 3 dollar interest fee....I raked them over the coals....Hey I owed it but still thought it should have been reflected on the bill...It had interest reflected...Though they said there was nothing they could do they ate the three bucks....Bet this....The next cup of cold brew I'm gonna cut a little more than that last one....Also as I thought I'm drinking way to much of it....It's good....real good....probably gonna be even better when I get it dialed in correctly....I got Pablo's Pride from Sam's...It's good....When I run out of what I had I'm betting Pablo's is gonna be great in the Keurig....

    Good morning, all.

I have to read back and find out about making cold brew. Maybe it will help me to get off the DMD once and for all :)

LD, I swear things go for you exactly the same as they go for me. I am always saying that nothing can be simple anymore lol I have tried several times to buy DH a belt during sales online. The way that they size them still boggles my mind. One thing that I do know, it is not the same as your waist size. Know why? Because nothing can be simple anymore  The deal with the cold brew, pitcher too small, coffee too much, big mess, yep it will go the same way for me. So, don't feel like the lone stranger. ;)

Note for Moon. Find Todds review on the Hcigar Nano VT75 a friend told me that Todd shows you how to close the door and then there are no issues.

    Have a good day all.

    Good Morning all !!!

Goldie I have been using ratchet belts for a while now. Instead of holes every inch, it has teeth every 1/8th inch. Works like a zip tie except you don't need a wire cutter to take it off LOL. The belts and the buckles are interchangeable. The belts come in different lengths. I buy them one or two sizes longer and then cut to size. Mine are from Mission Belts but there are others.

We are off to the Greek Food Festival tonight....nom nom nom !!!

Salem - cold brew is easy, after one or two tries :)

Get a quite coarse ground of something like a breakfast blend, relatively light roast.

Six ounces of the grounds, using a normal measuring cup.

Grounds go in pitcher, with a quart of water.

Optional stir a little with a wood spoon.

Cover with Saran wrap, or place a saucer over the top.

Let it sit on a counter for 12 hours. A bit more or less is fine.

Strain it through cheesecloth, or use a French press mesh filter, or use a hemp bag, or...

Optional second strain through a normal coffee filter.

The concentrate stores in the refrigerator for 2 weeks.

I normally cut it with plain water, 50/50.

Great for ice coffee, or hot (microwave it to warm it).

The advantages are very low acid and the bean flavors come through well.

I'll make it at night, a couple times a week, top off the pitcher in the fridge in the morning.

If I started making cold brew, I'd get fatter than the side of a barn! I do half and half and sugar in my coffee...even iced. And wouldn't be able to limit myself to 2 a day if it was sitting there in the fridge begging me to drink it

Thank you Nick! Enjoy the Greek Food Festival!!
