Weatherman said we got 1.5 inches of snow last night....It's gone now....so GOOD RIDDANCE!!!!! That storm heading to the Northeast is forming off our coast right now....a low pressure system...Every once in a while it's rattling the windows here....

Pollen has taken its toll....Sinuses are inflamed big time...Big Italian dinner at Sis' last night for Sis' and Cuzz'z birthday....Every bite I took the worse I felt....I excused myself and came home....I haven't been out since...Gotta hit the grocery here in a few though....

I read that stevia kills the lyme virus....YMMV but I use stevia and hold the world record for tick bites...

I put in a couple of air purifiers in our home, they make a huge difference.

The purifier I use is: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B002...1489365942&sr=2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65

(Updated url)

And for air filters, switch to the pet ones: Shop Hamilton Beach Replacement Air Purifier Filter at Lowes.com

The purifier uses a full set of 3 filters.

It's a huge relief to get a good night's sleep [emoji3]. The pet filters really knock down dander/pollen. We use one purifier in a 12x12 bedroom.

For us the issue at this time of year is the four dogs. A lot of dander and fine dirt, even the dogs were snoring [emoji5]

I ended up installing two more sets in the great room area. Three might be ideal, but two are doing a solid job.

I tried a couple of the HEPA units over the years, part availability was a hassle for me. I like being able to simply pick up filters from Lowes [emoji5]

(That GermGuardian looks awesome if I want to try another full HEPA unit.)

Thanks for the link I'm gonna look into it....I've got a mack daddy size air purifier from back when I smoked...Pretty sure it was Hamilton Beach....Maybe I can get a new filter for that...Dust/dirt/dander that I got plenty of....Not calling any names but somedog is shedding atm.....I've been running saline through my sinuses all day and feel pretty dang swell now compared with the last 48 hours....Snow is gone but it's frigid outside...Supposed to be cold all week....

My Granny was the oldest of 6 sisters and 2 brothers...My Aunt Azalee is the youngest and the same age as Mom...They have been lifelong best friends...Aunt Azalee has been getting platelets at the hospital the last couple of months...Here lately more frequently which worried me somewhat...Last week her body began rejecting the platelets...Saturday morning she had to go to the local hospital and this morning was transferred to Raleigh for better care...Temp last I heard was 103**...Doc in Raleigh says there's nothing more that can be done...Transferring outta ICU into a regular room then home for hospice care....Aunt Azalee is my Granny's last remaining sibling....She's always been a rock for me and now I guess it's time for me to be the strong one...

Best wishes for your Aunt, ElDee.

On the filter front, I've ordered a large piece of activated carbon filter to see how it works. It's supposed to do well for cut-to-size use. Only $8 for a 16x48 piece, free shipping. People have used it for smaller air purifiers and larger projects like replacing AC filters. If it does well with my smaller HB units, great, otherwise It's plenty large enough to use in the AC during the summer.

I'm sorry to hear about Aunt Azalee. My prayers for her and your family, Dee.

Gotta go do the pre storm obligatory milk and bread run today. I'm more concerned about the high winds and losing power. This snow is likely to be a wet, heavy one with the moisture moving in from the ocean. Chase is like me, old and cranky, and doesn't enjoy the snow

Thanks for the links, Mark. I may have to get one of those for my room.

Keys on the filter units for me are to use the pet version of the filters (very noticeable difference compared to the ones it ships with), and to start it running a couple hours before bed time (so it initially scrubs the air). Even with regular vacuuming, dusting, and linen changes, four dogs created a lot of dust.

(((ElDee))) prayers to you and your family. Will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. :(

My (too young for this shiz) cousin got her first dose of chemo today. The picture sent to me of her sitting in that reclining chair with a thumbs up while that poison pours into her about brought me to my knees. I received those same pictures of two of my beloved aunts some years ago, both of which are no longer here. Ain't ready for this. Knew it was coming, but to see that picture, it became real.
