Now they're predicting a full week above 90, with the 100+ heat index tomorrow through Monday.

Today's task - turn a big pile of dirt into a little pile [emoji5]

Cart on the tractor for bulk moving, wheelbarrow to get to the front of the point, and a long handled spade.

(Thankfully dirt is a lot faster, easier, to shovel than the mixed sand and rock I was doing before.)

I'm listening to upbeat dirt moving music - Grateful Dead From the Mars Hotel.

I've retired from shoveling. Done too much of it in my younger years. The music should help:)

The 11 hours weren’t so bad! Wish I could say the same for the interviewee (?) today.
The 13 hours tomorrow might sting a little bit but I’ll live. Lol
Two interviews scheduled for Saturday...cross all of your crossables for me will ya? It’s looking like this could go on through the weekend and into next week as well. My mom is not happy. You know what they say....when mama ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy! *ducks*
All crossables are crossed Tracy. Good luck with the interviews !!!!!

It's only a hair over 80 now. I'm xoing the bulk work now, then it'll only be raking in grass seed and watering

The contractor took care of us, good quality farm field soil, with some manure fertilizer mixed in.

A bizzy dai. The morning session ended up as 10 carts of dirt, about 1/2 the load. Best I can tell we received about 6 yards, generous. I'll use about 5 more carts to finish the point, with the remainder for some general lawn filling.

Evening session I did 3 carts of sand and rock. We stretched the point another 2 feet. Probably 3 - 4 more carts of stone tomorrow, before the final dirt goes on.

Midday I had an appointment with an orthopedist, reading on an MRI from yesterday. Time for a tune-up on my right knee, torn meniscus. I needed the same thing done almost 25 years ago, looking foreward to getting it done (I stay pretty active, this is an easy procedure with fast recovery).

Hope the knee surgery goes well and heals quickly, Mark!

I'm trying to decide if I want to try my hand at laying a brick patio once I get into my new (to me) house. Salvaged brick is pretty easy to come by around here I think, but still depends on prices. The other option is a floating deck on piers, but I don't have a chop saw anymore. Still eyeballing that one at Harbor Freight. Some furniture probably should be a bigger priority tho :eek:

Saw my real estate agent yesterday, termite inspection is tomorrow. She said she had spoken to my mortgage agent, and said all is on track and looking good for August closing

I had a torn meniscus surgery 8 years ago. He also found arthritis behind the knee cap and cleaned it all out. Every once in a while I get a little pain in my knee and get all worried. HEY... Greeks worry about EVRYthing

I'm taking my niece, and maybe my nephew and his girlfriend, to see their first Dead Show on the 3rd. I'm sure they'll have a great time.... BTW on FB Dead and Company page someone has been streaming the show every night. Next is Tuesday and Wednesday.

We are still getting our itinerary worked out. Trying to spend a day in Tokyo if we can work it about. I would love to go to the Tsukiji Fish Market, the largest fish market in the world, but we'd have to greet the crack of dawn.

Our last night is in a Raykan Onsen... The Raykan inns were started in the 8th century and the Onsen are the mineral springs baths. A great way to finish off the trip !!!

Fran, I have my mattress in storage, along with most of the rest of my boxed up things. I will get a platform for the mattress when I close on the house, but I don't have a sofa for the living room. I'm just grateful that all the kitchen appliances come with the house..even the washer/dryer! I'll be hitting the resale shops here to get a few furnishings at a time...I'll be fine. I have dishes, cooking pots and pans, pretty much everything I need except furniture

Yes Mark, that's the saw I have my eye on. We have a HF store here, and a HF warehouse about 50 miles NE of here.

Wharf, sounds like a lot of fun coming your way!
