When steeped for about 20 minutes for tea, the Ceylon also has a natural sweetness to it, not quite as strong a flavor as regular store bought sticks, but also doesn't have the bitterness. It's very good hot or chilled :)
    Thank you.

Cinnamon has always been my favorite spice.....

Cleaning the house while it's cold out....I threw out a bunch of old Pro Vari/ Buzz stuff....Boxes from mods and tanks I'd long forgotten about....I got way more drawer space and a free cabinet where my flavors lived....It was a good long ride....I miss vaping and am very thankful for it's help getting off cigarettes....

It's hard to walk away from something that's been a part of your life for so long, especially when it was such a help to you :(

Bella is having a hissy to go for our walk...all I want to do is chill on this cloudy, chilly, damp day. Guess who will win this tug of war

Got a follow up with my primary care Doc Monday.....I need to record some resting BPs for her....I feel it a good idea for her to see some BP readings from a couple days run....Otherwise she's gotta go off what she sees when you step in the office....that's always gonna run high...Read a little into cholesterol and came across the ratio between total/HDL/LDL...My Total was 218....HDL 53.....LDL 146.....Ratio 4.1.....I read it as ratio being very important and less than 5.0 being good....I will work to lower LDL but my ratio is good now....I suspect I can already do better than 146 LDL....At any rate I ain't taking no freaking statin drugs....I did read there were natural statins now being prescribed but that's a whole other thing for research....

Yeah it was a walk down vaping memory lane the past couple of days....An Infinity with a dime glued over that huge hole....a Buzz with another mis-cut huge hole where the first adjustment dial poked out...finally a black Buzz with the screwdriver adjustment....One last look and I sent them all to the landfill...

We've got another overcast cold day here as well....Seems like forever now...

Yeah i would not be game for statins if my numbers were the same.

Dh numbers are extremely high. That’s after more than a year of extremely healthy eating so he had no choice.

Natural statins have been around a long time as far as I know. I had posted earlier about there being less side effects with natural versus synthetic but, the synthetic is more effective. Dh is on a natural statin with zero side effects to date.

You are on the right track being your own advocate, LD. Some of these drs are just plain pill pushers.

My mom didn’t believe in taking pills. She believed that a person should let their body heal itself. I believe that to be true unless there is no alternative.

I am with you all on the side of natural vs pharma. 100% whenever possible.

My ex hubs is having a crisis again so in the midst of all that sheet by phone, I didn’t get to stop in to sams club...but I will, soon! So curious about that turmeric curcumin blend!

Good thinking about those bp numbers for a few days prior to docs office ElDee. Mine always goes UP upon entering.

It's called white coat syndrome [emoji3]

I picked up a little electronic bp set off of Amazon a couple years back, it's worked well. What I did was bring it by to a couple of pharmacies, check their measurement vs. mine to build confidence in the readings; they weren't a precise match, but two checks with a couple of minutes in between generally came in within a couple points on both of the bp numbers.

Yeah the old white coat syndrome....I feel it's important if were gonna be talking BPs then we should have some to look at taken from a normal at rest session....Most times I measure 5 times when I got the cuff on...Most times throw out first 2 readings....I use an Omron 5 series...@$50 and pretty accurate

I have white coat syndrome big time, it comes with my Anxiety Disorder package deal :nah: Fortunately my old Dr in Ct, and my new Dr here both understood, and would take several readings during my visits. I keep track of it at home, too, but I do have high BP. On max dose of Micardis + max dose of amlodipine has me stable for now. I also had to 'educate' my new Dr that I am very proactive and informed about my health, and I make the final decisions on what I will or won't agree to as far as meds and treatments go.

Wharf, we're all hoping for good news from your tests

I got a 1lb bag of the Ceylon cinnamon sticks in today. Thankfully I had an old 8 o'clock coffee grinder around, one of the electric jobs that looks like a tall soda can; perfect for grinding the sticks [emoji3]

(No way would I use my main coffee grinder, the one I use for the home roasted beans.)

A pinch of it in some low sugar yoghurt really perked up the flavor. It was also nice on some NSA banana bread that DW had made.

I filled a clean glass spice jar with it, then put the opened bag of sticks in a ziploc.

Is this the first time you've used the ceylon before, Mark? I was very surprised at the differences between the two types of cinnamons. I haven't ground any of mine, but I love the natural sweetness it has.

Fran, busy is good!! But so is sleep ;)
I very much agree,Bov:) They are both good. I was very much inclined to try to go back to sleep this morning but I got up instead. Figure it will help me get used to the time change faster. I have some for those cinnamon sticks on the way.

I hope you enjoy the ceylon as much as I do, Fran!

Sleeping late is not in Bella's 'to do' list, much to my frustration! I am NOT the 6am person she wants me to be!! o_O
I think it will be a tastier addition to my tea than sugar. I was using honey but kinda tiring of of it.
