Having our own mortality shoved in our face is never an easy thing. I'm glad Mrs Wharf prompted your PA to ease your mind :)

Oh and today was 26 years clean and sober !!!

Happy Clean & Sober Anniversary!!

I know there has been a time or few that I reached out to you privately over the years, and you helped me to walk away from an urge to drink. I'm so very grateful to have you in my life

Congratulations on the 26 years and the well placed stent!!! I can only imagine where my head would be should I have required a stent....I've seen great friends pass away....Just two weeks back Tim Ed left here at 57....My whole perspective changed the day I had the cautherization....Told a friend I went into the hospital still in my prime and came out an old man....Better than the alternative but I'm still not real happy about that....I saw my cardiologist yesterday and long/short my next appointment is in 1 year....He did have blood drawn for a cholesterol test and still wants to prescribe a statin....I've tried to cut fats where I can and have done a good job.....still with my mind adjusting to everything that is my new world I've gained a few pounds from sweet treats....Should the new test not show improvement I'll buckle down on the diet and I seriously doubt I'll ever take a statin....All in all we've lived great lives and there are still years in front of us....Much love your way Wharf......

Sounds like your cardiologist doesn't see anything as a big worry, Dee! That's good news :)

We are under a heat advisory for the next few days. Gonna lay low, except for early morning and evening outings for Bella to burn off that border collie energy

I can also spare you a lb. or so Fran !!! No vape and all this medical stuff I threw diet to the wind...On the scales at the cardiologist Friday.....203.....fully clothed to !!! I was expecting @ 10~15 more so.....GOOD!!!!!

Just in from the beach....sheetrock for the most part is finished....Moving on to the other walls for paint prep next....then flooring and trim....It's getting closer but the end is not yet in sight...I'm off to compare vinyl laminate flooring...Saw where Costco had it on sale....that's just how trendy it is right now...should be good stuff....

The heat is definitely on outside....

Ben and Jerry have that .lb ready and waiting......

Vinyl laminate flooring is quiet expensive....Debating the process I had figured out....Given the moldings and such looks like it may be best to install the vinyl then moldings and paint....The house has wall board sheetrock with a print like wall paper....there's no removing it.....paint peels in sheets....between the sheets there's a small trim strip....I plan on sanding everything in hopes of getting a good grip for paint....bottom line though everything needs to be in place before paint as removing door trim casing for flooring will be a major pain once the paint is on...Those trim strips between sheets also need to match up with whatever shoe molding I go with....There has to be shoe molding wide enough to cover a 1/4 inch gap and all that's there is another small strip like between the sheets....Pretty much settled on flooring then paint....

Fran, I actually understand needing to gain weight. Up until I hit my 30s, I was under 110lbs @ 5'7". Had my wisdom teeth done when I was early 20s and went down to 99lbs before I healed enough to be able to eat good again. Hit my 30s and boy did my gut explode!! It's been difficult to lose weight ever since.

With this heatwave, I discovered a definite stream of hot air coming from my bathroom exhaust fan. Peeked into the attic real quick and discovered that the fan is not vented thru the roof, only a short stack into the attic...and no back draft damper :-x I'm not about to work in the attic in this heat, so I slapped up some double sided tape and put a piece of left over bubble insulation over the the fan cover for now. Taped off the switch so I don't forget and flip it on.

The instrument panel on Pokey's SUV showed the temp at 106 yesterday afternoon about 3pm

Dee, do you have your beach place buttoned up enough to be using your ac? I sure hope so!

Well i'm only 5'3" so rather shorter than you. I'm usually 110 summer and 115 winter.Been this way since I was 12. I can eat all kinds of sweet crap and not gain a pound. I guess that's a good thing but I still need to get my lb back....LOL

Yeah Bov the A/C is on....My don't forget it list has a/c filters and the DeWalt portable vacuum on it this week....The bedroom where the sheetrock sanding was going on is near the A/C inside the house...the filters are white and gonna use the DeWalt with the small brush to give the a/c coil a good vacuuming....It was so hot down there the A/C was running most all the time during daylight....

On a standard range of 60-99mg/dl my LDL calculated cholesterol was 166mg/dl....Less than 5 ratio standard range that was at 4.5 is now 5.1.....Bottom line I tried to lower it and it went up....Dammit all straight too Hell

Knowing you are working with ac eases my mind for you, Dee. Changing filters and vacuuming them in between sandings is far cheaper than heat exhaustion/stroke!

I'm sorry your cholesterol numbers went up. For some people it's partly genetic, but I know you'll do what you can to get it right.

For all the times I ask everyone else to be careful, I missed the bottom step on my ladder and twisted my already bum right hip! With muscle relaxers, advil, and epsom salt soaks, it's much better, but Thursday I was unable to even put any weight on it.

This getting old sheet ain't for sissies
