Took these pics yesterday in case my arbor didn't survive Dorian. I'm happy to say they are still there and blooming today :)

I'm still in the confirmed vaping zone, though at a whopping 2mg. The whole hand-to-mouth thing, and I really like my ADV [emoji3]

I've been watching the reports on the "vaping" illnesses cropping up. It turns out that a bunch of that-which-shall-not-be discussed liquids have high amounts of Vitamin E acetate. As one chemistry professor put it, that stuff "is basically grease". It was found in nearly all samples from people who have gotten sick in NY, and has also turned up in other samples from around the US.

As an eliquid DIYer for 9 years it's a "What are these idiots doing?" kind of thing.

The eye wall of Dorian has just brushed the tip of Bald Head Island, NC. It's raining and the wind is getting with it for damn sure...So far so good with everything here and most importantly the electricity is still on...They say the worst will be here @2am....

The illness vape carts....First I highly suspect fear mongering....The vitamin e acetate likely comes from the cannabis oil used to make the carts...The proper way to make the carts is to use a distillate of cannabis and that requires a full blown laboratory....Or so I've heard

The flowers are very nice !!

Thanks for the well wishes.....I'm sure we'll live to fight another day.....I'll check back when I can

Glad you’re ok ElDee! Hang in there bud!!

I’m still vaping at 3 mgs, and salt nic at 25 mg in a pod. It’s pacha mama strawberry watermelon that I love so much in the salt nic. Started out I used it for when I’m working at the nursing home... now I find myself reaching for it daily! Maybe I’ll see if that flavor comes in regular juice and go back to my regular intention with the salt! It’s THAT GOOD!!!

Today is my last day at the vape shop I’ve worked at the last two years. Monday I return HOME! (Former but brand new vape shop (renovated) the former owner relocated me from)
They have me on the schedule as “Mystery” to surprise one of my former coworkers. She’s gonna flip! :)

    TGIF!!!

    Stay safe y’all!

Good luck with the new gig 908 !!!

We made it through the storm....Got a couple of pretty big limbs down but that seems the extent here...That's looking from the deck and going out with Spike though no policing of the property yet....There's flooding, there were tornadoes aplenty.....The condition of the beach house remains unknown....Safe here but tired....Gonna take a nap here in a few....

Very glad to hear your home base is in good shape, and hoping the beach house was spared! Rest up, Dee.

We made it just fine here. Not a single limb to pick up in my yard.

Agree 100% with you, Mark. I'm still at 3mg, and still love vaping...the hand to mouth thing, and my flavors.

Also in agreement on the 'oil' in the carts that are making people so sick.

Have fun with the surprise on your former co worker, Tracy...sounds like a fun way to kick off the new/old job :)

So happy to read you all are safe!
Young 908 (haha love that!) is safely in Tampa but forgot to pack some summer things....bc our pool is down and after Labor Day it’s all things fall up here! Flip flops for the pool and sunglasses are minor things to forget.

I am quite content vaping still, and working in a shop.....I don’t see that changing anytime soon. Still though, I am thrilled for those who decide enough is enough and give it up all together. This group here is about much more, and I hope to see us all still posting (I’m talking to you wharf! Haha since you newly quit ;)) for many years to come!

3 hours and counting here! Onward and upward after a restful weekend!!!
Thanks for the well wishes. Y’all are the BEST!

Young 908 can get some new flips....I've been debating Rainbow leather next go round....

I quit vaping because nicotine is a vaso constrictor.....I figured it would lower my blood pressure....They never did nail down the cause of my episodes....BP is in check....quit vaping though I don't blame that....no episodes since...I will say this....I was always a little skeptical about VG....I always remembered the first days vaping where it seemed I had grease in my mouth....that juice came from England and not sure on the percentages but likely 100%VG....Now given that everything is vaporized by the coil and inhaled....well I'm not so sure about that....I never felt it harmed me and I seriously doubt anyone here out vaped me....They're saying it's harmful....a mysterious lung injury...that's where I throw the bull sheet flag....nail it down the mysterious shyt I got issue with....Bottom line is this....If you don't vape there will be no harm....If you do well it's still new ground somewhat....I blasted for 10 years and have no mysterious lung injury....Still it might be harmful...I just don't know and neither does the medical community.....

Property looks good and Cuzzo said the beach house looks good....That tree is obviously not on top of my storage building....Still I gotta go see for myself....It got pretty wild here and there were @ 15 deer layed up in my yard during the worst of it....I hit the yard with Spike a couple of times when the bands allowed it...He saw the deer and wanted to chase them but didn't....Glad we dodged that bullet but it was close....

I started DIY to get a good tobacco liquid. Pretty early on I ran into people with severe PG sensitivity, and others with severe VG sensitivity, ended up developing pairs of mixes, one being 0 pg and the other 0 vg. Part of why I gravitated towards alcohol-based flavorings is that I could use them in both.

For myself, I tend to mix about 50/50. I like a bit of vapor, but am mainly into flavor, and high vg always felt a bit "heavy" to me, what I think of as a slight vg sensitivity.

I caught a new blog by Dr. Siegel today. It turns out that the black market cart industry started using vitamin e acetate as a diluent thickener, to cut the liquid while still having it be thick/dense (apparently a thicker liquid implies higher "quality"). Why use something like vg that millions have been vaping for years when you can add a totally random different carrier?

End of the day, it seems like those of us who vape to not smoke, use normal store bought eliquid or DIY (using the recipes we know of, not substituting random things) are absolutely fine, but vaping is getting a heck of a black eye due to people vaping non nicotine black market liquids.

Dee, I'm really happy to hear your beach house made it!! I know you'll have to check every inch of it to make that pronouncement on your own...but still doing a happy dance for you

Agreed, Mark. I've already had a few emails from well meaning non vaping friends. Some understand the mixing process and ingredients, some are determined to believe I'm doing more harm to myself than smoking. I use a 75/25 vg to pg base, I like the thick mouth feel...and admit that I like a bit of cloud. Granted, running at .29ohms, dual claptons at 42watts is not massive cloud blowing, but it's what I like. I don't shy away from the "bad" ingredients, everything I mix has some combination of diacetyl, acetoin, etc. in it. Again...it's the flavor profile I like. 5 years smoke free and I still get cravings for a cig from time to time, so I'm not thinking about giving up vaping. My hat is off to those who have been able to quit both!!

I think I see a new mech squonker in my future [emoji3]

I'm professional staff, but based on the nutty hours I worked in early August my boss approved me for an extra week's pay. Very nice to do on his part.

Anywho, skullcandy out of PA does some nice mechs, using proper mm510 connectors and silver contacts. They're very responsive to email contact, I'm looking forward to ordering something with a fairly conservative design (I've been working at home primarily for over a year, but I like to have gear that I can take into the office without getting strange looks [emoji3])

I've also found out that the vpdam leon mechs that I picked up awhile back, then reworked with mm510 connectors and new contacts, can also hold 21700 batteries. I've quickly become a fan of the longer runtime with the 21700s.

Thanks Bov !! I'm hoping too Hell everything is alright down there....Cuzzo and I are gonna hit the house we're cleaning out tomorrow...We hit a wall with his ex....she won't answer the phone.....nothing we've done she's just overwhelmed by doing absolutely nothing....She's got a little left on her initial payment as I'm still plundering and hauling shyt back here...Past that the Raiders are on Monday night and no way in Hades I'm leaving this 65 inch HD signal prior to that....Tuesday I'll go to the beach....Fridge lasted 25 years at the beach but sadly sits unplugged tonight....I've got the one from Cuzzo's ex sitting in the shop but want to hit Fayetteville and the Re-Store warehouse and see what they have in stock....They're used and usually nice ones are @300...Just wanna see what's available....

An extra weeks pay is great...I checked into Skull Candy and they seem nice....21700 for the win for sure

Thrilled you all fared well in that storm! No added hustle or hassles needed! Woot!!!

An extra weeks pay is awesome Mark and a skull candy mech squonk sounds great as a reward for your hard work! PA is right next door to me, and the shop I’m returning to tomorrow is as well. 20 minute ride for me.

Heading down for some coffee. Bring on this beautiful Sunday!

A week's extra pay is an awesome reward! I've also become a fan of the 21700s.

We had a shooting here in Sumter last night, 2 dead and 3 injured. Cops are being tight lipped so far, but are offering $5k reward for info. That tells me they don't have a suspect in custody, or at the least, there was more than one. This happened at a quickie store by the mall, not known as an 'unsafe' area to go here.

I think I mentioned awhile back that I've been going to the new plasma center to make a little extra scratch. Yesterday was the last of my higher dollar donations...first 5 pay $50 each. They will continue to pay a little higher rate if you commit to twice a week, otherwise it's $25 now. I am not going to do it twice a week...it's hard on your body, and takes me a few days to recover my normal energy. But it is nice to know I can grab extra gas money during tight months. Bottom line tho, is my health trumps extra cash!

Dee, I know you gotta hustle for your money, but hell yeah take that break for the game! We all need to pay our bills, but we also have to live our lives today
