You're absolutely right. It is much easier. I've got plenty of everything from pipes to isticks, egrip, mvp etc. and can just set the wattage and walk out the door. Mechs are just another aspect of vaping to be explored for some of us. As is building devices. My first was built out of a Camel Snus tin. Took a 14500 battery and had an ego connector. I've been rolling a new wood mod around in my head. Dual 18500s with a magnetic switch. I made a pipe once out of a piece of firewood while I was bbqing on the spur of the moment. It was really more of a holder as I concealed an auto battery and carto inside lol. Just having fun with my hobbies.

Yep, i think you are right. I don't enjoy building/making things. Especially if it is tedious. If I had to do all of that in order to vape, I would have given up long ago. I do understand that some folks do enjoy it and make a hobby of it though. Thank goodness for that because modders are the reason that we have come as far as we have in the last 5 years.

Salem I haven't gotten a shipping email yet, but my order page had the tips ready but an estimated date on the coils as 3-20. Tonight it has changed to everything ready to ship. Why do I have this image in my head of some 10 year old hunched over a coil jig? That would be funny if it weren't a genuine possibility

I got shipping notice on the new KSM about an hour after I ordered it.

One thing that I forgot to mention is that I always choose USPS shipping and pay $1.14 rather than go with free shipping. Free shipping takes a bit longer sometimes but, not by much.

Yeah, you are probably right on the coils :(

Salem I'd thought about mentioning the ceramic pan but figured I was likely way behind the curve....Mine came from Wally Wurld...called GreenLife or Green something....burgandy bottom and a white cooking surface...Cooked a pound of bacon last night....poured the grease out while hot....swiped with a paper towel....threw in 4 eggs and a sheet load of cheese...all the eggs came out easily...swiped with a paper towel and CLEAN!!!!!!!!!!!! Nothing sticks and clean up is a breeze....I strongly advise picking one up like I have and see the difference first hand...Mine is the large one and fits the big eye on the stove...I hate washing dishes and this pan hardly requires washing...The most I've done is shot a little soap in there and hit it lightly with the brush...It's great...

Wuzz PLEASE be careful with the 4nine. The kid in socal had his blow up. It's not just the 4nine but any mech with a hybrid adaptor. While the adaptor shortens it up, it put the 510 right on the batt. Any atty you use should have the center pin sticking out noticeably. He had a Atlantis but I wouldn't use a KSM on it either.

Debate going on whether the center pin wasn't out enough or he screwed it down too tight... either way, he got a dead shout and KA..Blewy !!!

That being said... any cuzz of TT's already knows this sheet.

Thanx for the heads up Warf. I can see that happening. I've got three rbas with adjustable pins and I think I'll restrict it to using those. I don't think a floating pin would even be a good idea. Do love the principle of all direct contact with the battery for performance though. Sure best watch what kind of battery you stick in them as well.

My Bride bought one of those from Wally's too Dee. I couldn't believe you could actually put cheese directly in it with no oil or anything and just slide it out of the pan onto the plate. I used it a couple of times and the only thing I could find wrong with it was trying to turn something with a spatula it won't stay in one place while you get it under it lol. Takes two, one to keep it from sliding out and one to turn it. She used it almost exclusively instead of her Caphulon stuff. I could have saved a lot of money. After a couple of months it started getting slightly harder to clean, not bad, but at the price I told her to toss it and go get another one. I think she's on her third one in a couple of years and somebody at Goodwill is enjoying her old ones. I'll use and love my old cast iron as long as I'm able to cook. You have to understand cast iron to enjoy it. I can always tell when somebody else has used mine.

Hey kids, Happy Saturday!

Wharf and Cuz Wuzz, I've used mechanical mods for about 4 1/2 years or so and have never had an incident, but everything you guys are saying is correct. The thing I don't understand is people using a mech mod without a safety fuse in it. Of course nothing is completely fail safe, but a guy might as well put the odds in his favor.

Most problems with mech mods, based on what I've read, is putting the battery in upside down, no safety fuse and forgetting to turn the danged thing off before sticking it in a pocket. I've always been of the opinion that a pocket is the last place a mech mod should be under any circumstances.

But think about it. Aren't many of the same sort of problems possible using any type of mod? Especially not turning them off before sticking them in a pocket, purse, bra or any place else.

One of the best safety devices out there might be a lanyard, but us macho guys seldom use them.

Good morning my fellow Refugees!!!
I got a little vape mail yesterday too. My (cloned) kayfun 4 was waiting for me when I got home!!! It sure is pretty and will look awesome atop of the ProV. I just need some quiet time to sit and get to know it better. :)
I love the design on it, it is very similar to the pattern on the ProV 2, but I kind of like to see the juice level so I'm not sure if I'll use the stainless much.

It is raining here today and Madison wanted to go visit and feed her wild duck friend "Jeffrey". He will be around no doubt, ducks love the rain....908? Not so much! Plthhhhh!

I told her we will go to Tractor Supply and visit all the baby ducks and peeps. Salem, when I saw your post about the peeps it reminded me of them, so thanks! We went last year more than once just to see them. So stinkin cute!

Hey, Good Morning Cuz Tracy!!

Heh, I've tried a few times to raise little chicks and had everything set up to do it. Temperature controlled environment and everything.

I just never could figure out a way to keep snakes out of their little chicken house. So I let the professional chicken farms raise them and I buy the end product at the grocery store. Mucho easier. Of course , with all the growth hormones and everything they give chickens nowadays, I'm currently eleventeen feet tall.

I'd probably have one heck of a time buying underwear that fit.

If I wore them .......

Thanks, LD! I saw a 3 piece set on sale for $25 ( nothing fancy) but, I wondered if it was really any good. Trust me when i tell you that nobody could possibly be more behind the curve than I am ;)

Ok, that right there ^^^^ is another reason that I don't use mechanicals. I don't know enough about them and am a little fearful of them.

Is that those green pans or something like that? As seen on TV thingy? I had one of those and nothing would stick like you say but, the quality was not very good IMO They make better quality ceramic pans nowadays :)

It is possible but, at least the regulated mods do have built in safety features. So, it would not be near as dangerous for folks that do not use fuses ( my guess is alot of them) in their mechanicals. I think that the one that Wharf is talking about was the article that I posted several pages back.

I agree about using the fuses making it safer. I just don't think that alot of people do and would therefore be safer using regulated mods.

Oops, Good morning, all :)

Tracy, I could have scooped them all up and brought them home with me! Something about all baby animals that make them precious and cuddly :)

Absolutely correct.

And I think the situation here is the hybrid adapter. I don't have any and don't think I want or need one.

I think that's what it was Salem. I've told her countless times if she wants something like that to just go to Bed Bath and Beyond and get the best one they have. Probably would have lasted through the ones she bought at WallyWorld and saved money in the long run. She's got Caphulon which is really decent stuff but whatever she wants is fine with me. I guess I should go up there and buy her one next time I'm in town or take her and let her pick out what she wants. I'm a firm believer in "Happy Wife, Happy Life". Long as she don't kick me to the curb I'm alright. She's always been an easy keeper even though she doesn't need to be.

Absolutely correct.

I don't think you can even use a fuse with this thing which is part of the direct connection design. I suppose something could go horribly wrong but same applies with anything. Anybody that's not comfortable with it probably shouldn't have one. What gets me, and I'm going to talk to them about it next time I'm up there, is they never said a word of caution. There are a lot of people that probably wouldn't know how to even put it together. As with a lot of things we buy there are no instructions or warnings. My opinion is every store should have an advanced user section and talk to anyone wanting to buy from it. From reading what others say about their b&m stores I kind of wonder if they even know.
