Congratulations too your Grand Daughter Fran !!!!! I do lots of marine patrolling myself....Pirate here though!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I read those complaints on the KSM deck my thought was that it had looked fairly easy to build...Still you gotta build it and I guess there's tons of room for operator error....then it's the decks fault....Those people would sheet their breeches if they gave building that Goblin a go.....the Goblin is great though....I burnt my wicks trying out high watts so its been sitting a few days...Actually the Stick 50 somehow got on full blast....I swear I didn't touch the up button....I've seen it drop power automatically when the battery gets low as well....that may actually be a feature of the 50...50 watts singed the feck outta my wicks....

My next experiment will be with a larger coil....I can play out resistence better with a little more wire in play and it will also hold more cotton...With tanks now offering way more airflow the micro coil may become a thing of the past...Just thinking the increased juice and air would require an increase in wick too keep up....More wick requires a bigger coil...Still gonna be a tensioned contact coil though...

I said earlier you could use pliers to hold tension when using the Gizmo....I tried that and had a couple of gaps in my wind...Not saying it can's be done but just make sure there are no gaps or try again !!

reviews of the Lemo 2 are begining....So far they are all very positive...

Salem i'm still using those grey ones from before so you are probably right.

I love my 1.5 on the EMOW, i'll look at the subtank (?). i've got 2.5's or so in the kangers i have now.

Seriously, Oly. If you love what you are using now, stick with it. We all know how hard it can be to find your sweet spot. I like my subtank but, I like and still use my nautilus and my Delta tanks as well. :) Yeah, I knew that you were still using the Panasonics. They are 10 amp.

Forgot to tell you folks that my grand-daughter got sworn in by the State Police. She's in the Marine Patrol unit.

Congrats to your GD, Fran! :toast:

TC works on Sub-Sub Ohm... .08Ω to .16Ωish, I don't know if you can get to .2Ω, maybe. That being said, it's nothing like sub-ohming with kanthal. You set the max temp and the board adjust watts keep the coil temperature at that temp setting. The idea is to keep the juice from boiling because boiling juice doesn't produce vapor. Also it keeps VG from breaking down into bad stuff.

Morning folks :)

Fran, comgratz to your GD!! I know she's worked hard to get there!

Dee, I didn't cut my wire off the spool while I wrapped, using it to keep tension using one had while I wrapped on the gizmo with the other. Beginner's luck had no gaps in my coil. I know you said not to anneal the wire before wrapping, but the gent in the vid said doing it would help keep your coils from distorting and gaping during and after wrapping. Not that I'm questioning you, just that he was the only classroom teacher I had at that moment ;)

I may try to find a spindle that's sized in between the one I used and the next bigger one that comes with the gizmo, as I agree that a larger diameter coil holding more wick might be better.

I want a longer lasting device that i can do 1.5 on to be honest. I have a couple of the add-on air control devices that are ok so that isn't a requirement on whatever tank i look at now. the one problem with the emow is it dies fairly quick (all my others are 18650 fed), so i need another emow battery i guess.

I was thinking about an aspire ET-S maybe.

Darn. I had some of those but I think that I just gave the last one away. Let me look a bit later. If I have one, you are welcome to it. What about a nautilus or nautilus mini? They have built in air control.

As far as devices go, you missed the iStick craze. They are still very popular. The 30W and 50W lasts a good long time. I only need to charge my 50W every other day and I am heavy vaper. Built in battery with 4400 mah.

Bov the coil gurus say if you flame the wire the coil will never oxidize properly...We replaced the flame with tension...They do seem to last longer with the oxidizing method I use...Performance wise I can't really say I saw a difference....I have the tension cranked up with the fly reel spool so I really don't need too flame the wire....

Dropping back in fresh from Eciggity..........Lemo2....Kanger o-rings....Stick 50 black silicon case and some Nauty coils....These coils are ceramic wicked.....not sure if that's an update over what I had or not....Ad said latest coils for the Mini Nauty....Was there an update with the coils??????????????

Might have been a new update on the nauty coils Dee. The last ones I got were the "new" organic cotton ones. I was looking thru my stash for the older ones before those for Moon, since he isn't liking the cotton ones as much. I'll point him towards Eciggity to try the new "new" ones

I don't recall if I ever said it, but using the fly reel for your wire is genius!

I'm looking at the Nautilus, i was just looking at the EMOW batteries and i'm seeing a lot of complaints on them recently. I'm on the list for IPV4 and ordered the new batteries. I should see if there is anything that uses the Aspire coils i have.

I think that I have a tank or two that will use the coils you already have. Will round some stuff up and get it out to you.

Hmmmm... I thought that they discontinued the ceramic wicks for nautilus? There was much talk about it about a month or two ago.

I am 99% certain that the ceramic coils are the older style. Some people had concerns with them. I never had an issue using them. Some people also prefer them to the new cotton wicks.
