Dealing with Tropical Storm Ana tonight through sometime late Monday...last I saw the eye was near the NC/SC border and near landfall...Saw some hellacious clouds and rain today in the outer bands...Dead calm ATM...and that gives me a very creepy feeling...The atmospheric pressure is very low as well...I have to keep yawning to clear my ears...Kind of like having a weight on your chest as well.....We'll be wet and blown around but will be OK if we can dodge the inevitable tornadoes....Just part of life here in Hurricane Alley....

I too hope that everyone had a great Mothers Day. I know that I really enjoyed it :)

Yeah, LD. Pretty sure that we are going to put the house on the market soon and head back home to Charleston. Ana was a reminder of how unpleasant those darn tropical storms and hurricanes can be on the coast. Even if you don't end up with a direct hit, the stress of watching and deciding whether to evacuate gets old. But, being close to my son and grandson will be well worth the hassle. ;)

Heck, we got home this evening and a wicked storm blew through here. Lots of hail and reports of tornadoes. Lost power for about 30 minutes.

6 hours ago the center of circulation was 90 miles due South of Raleigh....I'm about 40 due South on the road...It's quiet now and I'm thinking we're on the backside of Ana...

Of all the places I've been in SC I liked Darlington......I mean....Charleston the best.. I'd be moving just as dang fast as possible....Darlington is home too the Thunderbird Hotel though....Trust between the Raceway and Dragstrip in Darlington we've thrown down at the Thunderbird on numerous occasions...

Tornado was spotted up near Wilson...Shoulda been on the leading edge of Ana though...Don't think it touched down....Even though the eye passed close by there was never any thunder...not that I'm complaining...watch all Hell break loose now....

Hoping all you Mom's enjoyed your day....I scored Mom a gift card and a couple of burritos earlier...A small group of my family gathered last night.....Strawberries are coming off so we made ice cream and cooked brats/wienies/burgers...Just the old school down for life members of the fam were invited...Mom and Aunt Azalee were the guests of honor...Cousin married a cop who's now retired and became a magistrate....yeah that's good....He said I got 24 months to pick up the charges on my tree trimming neighbor....Calling the law isn't what I do....however at 55 going to jail ain't what I want to do...Anymore BS outta her and she wears the cuffs...

My son is a race fanatic. He has a spot up at darlington to camp. He went to Talledaga last weekend. Charleston was awesome back in the 70s and 80s. Sleepy little beach town and one big party 24/7  After Hugo hit and the Navy moved out, it changed a lot. Now it is way overcrowded and overbuilt. But, it is our home and two of the most important people in the world to us are there.

We moved here to help with my mom. Now that my oldest sister is retired, she will not need as much help. plus, it is only a 3 hour drive. Just not looking forward to the actual move and that is IF we are actually able to sell this place.
