Sleep tight Fran and Tracy :)

Damn Dee, you can't catch a break on that ankle! Hmmm, maybe that wasn't the best way to put it, but you know what I mean!

Katie put a pretty good scare into both of us today. I vaguely remember her poking her head in my bedroom around 8:30 to say she was going grocery shopping. I woke up at 10:30 and she was not home. Made coffee, did my morning routine, and at noon she still wasn't home. By this time I was really getting concerned! I decided if she wasn't home by 1:00, I would drive her route to the grocery to see if she had car trouble...or whatever. She Finally drove up about 12:45, visibly shaken, she had gotten lost and couldn't find her way home :( I was so relieved that she was ok otherwise. I can only imagine how scared she was!

There will be no more solo trips to the grocery store for her. She still insists that she can drive herself to Mass on Sundays, but I think the time has come for her to hang up her keys. This is the 2nd time in the last 3 trips to the grocery that she has forgotten her way home.

Oh, Bov!!! That is not good at all :( So strange that I was just reading a story tonight about a woman that had alzheimers. It was a very sad story but also informative. I am so glad that you are there to look out for her! She may never truly appreciate how much she needs you but, you will always know what a great thing you are doing :)

I just hope that she does not get stubborn and resist. Maybe that scare did it for her.

Morning folks :)

Salem, 101 sent me a new iStick50 when they finally got them back in stock. Not a word from them on it, but hopefully it will be fine since it's from their new stock. It and the 2 I got from RMV are all working fine.

I think this scared Katie sufficiently enough for her to hang her keys without a fight. If not, I'll go talk to her Dr. It's about keeping Katie safe, but it's also about keeping other drivers safe.

About 20 years ago, my mom had car trouble. It was before we had cell phones. She was in a pretty rural area and had to walk to find a house that would let her use their phone to call my sister at work. She never really was comfortable driving since she never drove until she was in her 30s. She is from NY and had no need for a license. That was the last day that she drove. Thank goodness for that!

I'm sorry that happened to your mom, Salem. I'm sure it was scary for her, and knowing her issues I can understand why she stopped driving.

The grocery store we go to is only 2 miles from our house, and Katie's been going there for over 30 years. She must have banged up against a curb too...she has discovered one of her hubcaps is all scuffed up.

Twilight Zone
Good afternoon ladies. Finally got a chance at my puter while the kids are gone visiting some friends. Hope Katie gives up those keys peacefully Bov. A while back we had a couple of incidents where someone suffering from dementia got lost and wound up several hundred miles away with no idea where they were. Recently an elderly man went out for a walk and they found him two days later sitting in the woods. I've already made up my mind I'm only going to get lost like that once.

Oh, no! I am so glad that she got home okay. May be good that she had this scare now before something major happened. It has to be a horrible thing to have to give up independence :(

Not to sure about anyone offering a ride too church...My family has been members of the same church for generations...None offered to give Mom a ride...Not even the next door neighbors...Tis what it tis...They don't mind giving me the stink eye when I drop or pick her up though...The ride of shame....
