Will chat tomorrow! Goodnight everyone!!!

A dolphin bit in half washed ashore here at one of the south Jersey beaches. (Wildwood) What the heck is going on with these attacks so close to shore lately up and down the East coast? I'm going to stay in my green pool!!!

we are decimating their natural food sources as well as their habitat. They are having to adapt in order to survive :(

My sister keeps asking me when i am going swimming in her pool. I told her today that will happen when the temp gets below 100. Pool or no pool, I like the ac best when it is this darn hot out there.

Good day all. I thought I better post before nobody remembers me. May this be one the best days you've ever had.

Oh, now! Like we could ever forget you! ;) It is good to see you though.

@Wuzz, we need rain badly here as well. We got a quick storm right before dark that dumped a good bit of rain. At this point, we will take what we can get ;)

Well over 100* again today....Let me tell you that's purty dang HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Picked up a new backpack sprayer and threw out 12 gallons of Round Up....

Lost a close friend last evening....details are sketchy atm...There is just so much life one can get from a body...He played hard the whole way

Whale of a thunderstorm @ mid-night...Knocked out internet and cell phone coverage...The local tv had a lightning strike counter up this am....Lucky I fared as well as I did

Awe, sorry to hear about your friend, LD :( Glad to hear that he lived his life like he meant it though.

Seems Charleston has made national news again. Not in a good way either :(

Sleep well Fran :)

Dee, I'm sorry you lost a friend.

I feel for you Salem. I have astigmatism in both eyes and nearsightedness, worn glasses all my life. I have never been able to adjust to bi or trifocals, so I have 3 pairs of glasses. Distance/driving, midrange/computer, and reading cheaters. Lots of juggling...and a big purse  I hope you adjust quickly!

Well, I am going to give it one heck of a try to adjust. I always had excellent vision when I was young so this is all new to me.

I had surgery on my eyes when I was 7, and the technology back then was not very good when cutting the eye muscles. It fixed my crossed eyes, but left me with my eyes not both working at the same time. It effects depth perception, but I've never known any difference, so I guess my brain adjusted to it. But that depth perception issue (according to my eye Dr) is why I haven't been able to adjust to the bi or trifocals.

Understood. It is funny how the brain has to rewire itself to see right after seeing wrong for so many years. It is giving me some vertigo and headaches but, I was warned about it. They said to give it 2 weeks or to let them know if no improvement after 1 week. before now I always thought that you just got glasses and could see again. Not so. Much more involved than I ever imagined.

YOU guys need rain.... HA !!! You have no idea. Maybe you've heard about this place call Cali ?!?!
We have a town about 80 milse SE of us that the water dried up last August. They have to have shipped water in ever since. And Jerry (not Garcia) will fine you if you use too much water.

Sorry 'bout your Bud Dee ~

I went from readers to progressive about 6 years ago Goldie. I'm on my third pair and each pair gets easier to adjust to. The first pair took me about a week and a half to get used to... except when I was in Targets. There is something about the high ceilings and lots of colors that would make me a bit dizzy and nauseous. It probably took 3-4 months to completely get over it.

Thank you, (((Wharf))) ! I really needed to hear something encouraging. I seriously need for these to work. The past few years it was so bad that I could not find things that were sitting right in front of me. I had no clue it was because I could not actually see them. Even online, with email for instance, I had a horrible habit of only replying to the top portion. Because I would never see the bottom portion ( unbeknown to me that was the reason) I thought that it was my lack of attention span all of this time. Really hoping that I can do this. But, I will not give up without a fight!

To quote the words of a very smart lady, "getting old ain't for sissy's!"

I am really sorry for the horrific drought that you guys have endured for so very long.

I wish you all could get the rain we are having. We've gotten a lot of rain and thunderstorms. Since i bought the bike we've had like 4-5 clear days that i could ride. 3 weeks in and still have only about 130 miles on it. This sucks.

On a better note i'm loving the IPV4 with the 1.8 coils. I've been going through a lot of juice. I hitting at about 20 watts with a lot of flavor and vape. My wife thinks it is huge and it is kinda big but not TOO big.

Oh crud! Woke up late and it's Friday....not a good thing on the busiest workday of the week!

Will post to you all this weekend.

Sorry about your friend ElDee. :(

Salem I'm happy your eyesight issue was discovered and being corrected. I never realized all that it involves either until I had Maddie. It's been a long road with her, but we are seeing improvements all the time!

Morning folks :)

Wharf, I think about you every time I mention rain, and I mean that sincerely. It hurts my heart to know Cali is suffering this horrible drought.

Salem, I'm positive you'll adjust fine!

Thanks for that, Bov. Cuz I am really not enjoying this and do have my doubts that I am going to make it. Who woulda ever thunk that wearing a pair of glasses could be this hard.
signed, Negative Nelly ( for today ;)

I wore bi focals for several years before taking the plunge into progressive. When I decided to upgrade the sales person talked me into some tiny ones that turned out to be fashionable but not functional. After repeated trips back they finally made another pair that weren't much better. There was absolutely no room on those tiny things for the range I could focus on. The next size up, still on their nickle, it took me about a week to get used to them and now I won't have anything less. Much better than bi focals. Last time I had my exam was another disaster. the dashboard on my car and everything on the horizon had a curve. They had put the reading portion too high up and adjusted them too far away from my eyes. They got it right next pair on their nickle. You will most likely need a few adjustments after a week or so but once you get used to them you'll love them. I'm pretty rough on glasses so I go back every few months when they start sliding down my nose lol.

Wuzz, they did give me the option of bifocals but, they pretty much said resistance is futile lol The doc told me that I could go with the bifocal and have the option to upgrade to the progressive but that I would end up with trifocals or progressive before it was all said and done. So, I decided to give these a try since sooner or later I am going to have to wear them whether I like it or not.

I do have the option of going to bifocals if it ends up that I just can't tolerate these though. They said for $20 they will switch them out. I have not worn them to drive or even out of the house yet. I feel sure that is going to be an adventure
