TMI alert, you may not want to read. I just need to vent.

Well it wasn't a good weekend for us. Our oldest daughter has been back to her old ways and we had to have an intervention Saturday. She is starting detox today though so hopefully things will get better and stay better for a at least a little while. She had picked up her 1 year chip last summer and she seemed to have actually earned it, so we let her move back in with us. She was working 3 days a week for a lawyer. Going to meetings. Following the rules. Then she had toothache, the tooth got pulled but she apparently convinced the dr she needed Percocet for the pain. She stopped going to work. She cut back on the number of meetings she went to ( the snow storm and subsequent snow problems helped her too.)I think once she got a little she wanted more, we're still not sure how she was getting it now. That was 2 months ago. At least she was willing to go to detox.

Oh and did I tell you she is pregnant and due the beginning of March.

So obviously things have been rough around the house. My wife is completely frazzled. I feel exhausted.

Sure sorry to hear about this Oly. Been around long enough to know a lot of people don't get it right immediately. 8/13/89. First symptom seems to be slacking off on meetings. It's actually a sign of planning your next move whether we realize it or not. When you get hit by a train it's not the caboose that kills you, it's the engine. Hope she gets back up and tries again.

Thanks, I've never had to deal with addiction personally and just don't understand it. I don't think anyone can that hasn't gone through it. It is just crushing my wife so I've got to deal with Beth (dd), Joanne (DW), and the rest of the family. Sure seems like we have just kept going from 1 family crisis to another for the last several years. It really starts wearing you down so much.

Oly thanks for the Harvoni Free post.....24 hours post and my stomach is tied in some sort of Boy Scout knot....This too shall pass......I sincerely hope DD gets her act together......

1981.....I delivered some of Pablo's finest too a motel room.....The room was saturated with an unusual and very powerful aroma....They were "Chasing the Dragon" {smoking H}....Little did I know I'd lose control of my life that day...Two years later almost to the day I entered N.C.'s prison system due to that trip into said motel room....I rehabbed on a prison hospital bed....cuffed and shackled.....How I didn't die right there....When I finally did come back around I swore right then and there I'd never fekk with that sheet again....I never did

'Merica 2016......Second visit with my new "Doc"....I'm approved and awaiting my Harvoni....I'd read much on the innerwebs and decide maybe I needed Valium to get through the Harvoni Hangovers.....It had been posted that Valium had been a life saver for many on Harvoni....Happy to say I got a script for 60....have only filled once for 30 and have 27 left.....I'm not much for pills after that hospital bed incident....Now the Doc had asked a lot of questions prying into my past and I do not lie under any circumstance....I learned as a kid fessing up at the git was the best way to deal with what you had done....Knowing my past and while the ink was drying on my Valium prescription that bass turd of a Doc asks me if I'm in any pain.....An open invitation for unlimited oxycotin.....Now that struck a nerve and he got a "Hell No"......He IMO is no damn better that the hood rats peddling the H....Way worse actually as the rats aren't hypocrites......Here in 'Merica we got record prescription overdose.....A full scale epidemic....One that can't be tied to El Chapo and his Sineola Boys....My advice.....and it's an expert's opinion....Don't take those damn pills....It's a fekking trap!!!!!!!!!!!

Indeed it is a trap if you can't stay honest to yourself. I have been honest with my Dr as well, and have refused the pain meds for my PSA. My Dr understands completely! I am considering other options that have just this month been approved in Ct for PSA. We've had medical mj for a few years here, but Psoriatic Arthritis was not on the list until this month.

I can't give a clear date, but I've been sober since 1990, with a few slips along the way. None that ever sent me back to hardcore drinking, but I will say that I've had a couple of conversations with Wharf within the last couple of years when I felt the pull too hard.

Proud to call each and every one of you my friends

We all understand more than you know oly.
I had a doc ( in this case, drug of choice) back in the day too. Methamphetamine. I liked it a lot! Even after having two of my babies, I dabbled in it and it got the best of me. I was 90 some pounds, clothes hanging on me, and ashamed at the image staring back in the mirror.
The hurt and fear in my mother and my aunts eyes plus knowing my girls deserved much better is what turned me around. It wasn't easy but I did it and never looked back. Makes me sick even now when I think of it.

Dang !!!!!! We're knee deep in Krank {edit that}down here in the Dirty South.....

There are 47 or 49{can't remember but know it's an odd number and one of the two} cannabinoids present in the Holy Plant.....THC being one of those cannabinoids....Smoking has very limited medical benefits....The real medical benefits lie in the oil extracted from the plant....and yes it has THC....Oil is metabolized easily by the body in the liver....Without getting much into it the girl I know who was given 6 months to live 2.5 years ago went too Denver...She went into several medical dispenseries and saw no oil....She has pancreatic cancer and 4 tumors in the liver....All 4 tumors have been shrinking for over two years now.....120 lbs....looks healthy with good color and the Docs said she has now been on the chemo poison longer than anyone else they treat....A little dab will do yahh!!!!!!! Bottom line is many say it's a cure for cancer among many other things....The possibility exists....Why do we not know for 100% sure????? Big Pharma......They SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, i am honored that you shared with me what you all have been through. I'm so glad you guys made it through the traps. We had to tell Beth she had to leave. There is a Christian based halfway house project that we got her in to. The Johns Hopkins detox program (Center for Addiction and Pregnancy) that we tried to get her in didn't accept the HMO she had set up so we got it changed over for her. The problem is that it takes 10 days for the change to be effective. so much for the detox program, in 10 days she'll probably be over it to the point she won't qualify for it anymore. Joanne couldn't have her here anymore right now, but she didn't want to "kick her out" either. I had to prioritize my wife.
