That makes me feel MUCH better. I am SO glad that it was just a brief period of confusion!!!! Those UTIs can be SO dangerous left unchecked but, I know that I am preaching to the choir. Also know how impossible elderly folks like Katie and my mom can be to deal with.

I too am glad that Wharf had a good visit with Kia. They will all adjust and get used to things.

Bov, have you talked to Katie's doctor to see if they would let you just bring in a urine sample? When my mom was deemed terminal we didn't want her to have to sit in the office around the sick people so when we suspected that she had a uti, we'd go by the office, pick up a specimen cup, she would pee in it and we'd cap it and take it in. If she tested positive for an infection, the dr would call in the prescription.

Oh, wow! MV must have changed since I ordered from them. Their shipping used to be very reasonable.
Iknow but I wasn't complaining about the cost I just meant the cost difference between 10 and 13 I went with the later.

Thanks Mark, Fran, Tracy and the rest of you Notcig people. It's a pleasure to visit here.

I finally got ahold of someone at PerfectVapes that didn't hang up on me and a very pleasant and courteous young man I might say. Anyway he checked on why it's been 14 days and no package. He came back to say for some reason my package was never sent. I told him his co-worker informed me it had been sent on the 12th just before he said "I'm going to hang up now" and did just that. He ask who it was but not wanting to get anyone in trouble I just said I didn't know.

That is what I mentioned earlier to Bov. We take a sample of my moms urine to her Dr as well. Thing is that if the person insists that they do not want to be tested, you can't force them to give you a sample :)

Katie is much like my mom is. Very stubborn and not going to do what they don't want to do.

I would have given the name. That employee will do a lot of damage to the company if they continue to treat customers this way. :2c:

Yeah, I hear you on that. Glad that it did work out well for you. A vendor would be shut down quickly if they started treating customers this way and I think that most of them know it.

So unlike the old days when there were only a few vendors to choose from. Remember Geoff from TV??? lol I was just talking to someone about him a few weeks back. He got away with a lot because he was one of the few decent juice vendors. The good old days :)

A sultry 35 here (it"s warming up), though 25 with the wind :) Got the outdoor faucets at home and camp shut down for the season, at camp I set the indoor faucets to slow drip to keep just a little water flow -- overly cautious since it'll warm up again, but I loathe fixing broken pipes (The feed from the pump box I built to the camp house is exposed for about 8' before it goes up into the house. I'd add heat tape if I ever want to convert to year round.)

    Morning folks :)

J5, glad your package is finally on it's way.

I turned off the outdoor water, drained the water out of it and the hundred miles of water hose we have a couple of days ago.

I'll check with our Dr and see if he'll do that without her coming in. I might be able to get her to pee in the cup as long as she knows she doesn't have to go to the Dr.

Last night she was upset, convinced she was going to be forced to move out. She has dreams when she falls asleep in front of the tv, they are very real to her. I reassured her that this is her home and no one can force her to leave, that I'm here to help with whatever she needs. She went to bed feeling much better. Her confusion is not gone, yesterday was just a particularly bad day for her.

Thank you all for your support, it's very much appreciated! As Jon Snow says, "Winter is coming," both in mother nature, and life with Katie.

Bov!!!! take that sample by force if you have to lol I would bet you big $ that it IS a UTI. That is exactly what happnes to my mom when she has one. She has very vivid dreams and is unable to tell them from reality. This is some of the weirdness that happens due to her body no longer being able to run a fever.

Do whatever it takes to get that sample to the Dr. You can share what I am telling you with her if it helps. She does not have to go through this and she is risking much worse by not having it tested.

They just do a dip stick test at the Dr. He should have no problem with you bringing it in.

Very troubling post about Katie....I suggest reading Granny Storm's Crows List and the effects on Alzheimers and Dementia....The List is very informative and will likely require downloading in pdf....

Glad DD came in for a visit and old Pops is in good spirits....How one deals with the boyfriend thingy and the leaving the nest.....well.....I don't look forward to any of that....

Due to all the legal stuff coming my way concerning Mom's assets I'm heading down later to pay a house payment and as soon as it cures I'm making the final payment....I'd do it today but need a few days to gather the needed funds....then I gotta hire a freeking lawyer....at least it's not for a criminal case and HellYeah that's where my area of expertise lies....My record was pulled 15 years ago and held at about 6 feet it hit the floor and then some....In this life I make the damn rules....I ain't exactly proud of it but hey.....I don't run in a flock....I'll get this whole situation straight and then gotta wait for 5 years and a thing called a look back period before all that cures....If Mom's care requires losing everything before the 5 year period then so be it....I also gotta stock up on the propane that ran dry sometime during the night....Some bread might be nice as I've been living on sammiches lately....PB&J!!!!

Dee, I don't envy your having to deal with all the legal asset stuff but you gotta do what you gotta do. Katie took care of all that stuff years ago. That's how the ex ended up having a Quit Claim Deed issued to him on this house.

We are seeing our fist snow flurries of the season today, will turn to rain later.

These darn state laws get crazy! We have something in this area where we had to pay "roll back taxes" on our 15 acres when we bought it. Something about changing the use of it since we were building a house on it. Had to pay 5 years worth of back taxes. Meh, just another gimmick to get their hands in our pockets IMHO

The only thing that compares to PB&J is PB with local honey. Just got back from endo. Have to eat something soft and it is sounding pretty good about now :D
