I have 10 gigs of internet for $50 thru Boost....Takes me @3 weeks to burn that down...The easiest way to re-Boost as they call it was to hit a store because a call was required and me calling was a sure fire way to have a stroke...plus the stores charge a $6 service fee and tax.....I beeched....no one cared....I wrangled the number the store used....Ran out of gigs a few minutes ago....Decided to add money as I can get slow azz access to the Boost site when out....Got the money in.....used the number I wrangled....Finally after over a year Boost has their sheet together and I was able to re-start by choosing #3 twice....and.....it only cost me $50 for the first time evvah......

Yay Dee!

Katie is ripping mad right now! As I've mentioned before, she has been refusing to go back to the Dr. Well, I called in her script refills and our Dr refused to refill them without seeing her. Appt made for Wed, and I had the office make a note to get a urine sample to check her for UTI. :D

Salem, I hope it's something small and easy to fix.

Mark, I enjoyed my first cup of white eagle coffee a little while ago. Thank you so much again! Will try the other blend next!

Salem, glad the heat is fixed and hope dishwasher isn't too big a deal to fix!

Thanks. I ordered a new one. Pretty sure it was the motor and sadly, it is just about the same price to buy new as it is to repair appliances in most cases these days.

Worst part is that we are having our Thanksgiving this weekend so that everyone is able to be here. When will my dishwasher be here? Yep, Monday.

Things always seem to happen that are not good this time of year. TBH we could skip right through until January and it would be fine by me :)

I have a fireplace, but even though it's been serviced and cleaned, every time I stoke a fire, I get a horrid backdraft and all the smoke pours into the living room.

Your chimney is not high enough. You re not getting a good draw. Trust me because we went through the exactly same thing when we first built this house.

Dinger our fireplace has the same problem. I crack the back door, if it's far from your fireplace, try a widow across the room. I use a lot of newspaper to get heat rising as fast as I can and most of the time I get very little or no smoke into the room.... Hope that helps

See my post above to Dinger. Your chimney is not tall enough. ;)

Amen about how others "make" themselves......

I just got new windows last fall - replaced all the old aluminum-framed ones. I have a door and windows I can try to crack. I'll give it a whirl - but one concern is that when one looks up the chimney, even with the flue open, can't see out o_O I just need a GOOD chimney sweep to take one more good look....

You will not see out of the chimney in an older house. There is a shelf up there that the damper sits on ;)

Goldie Mine isn't tall enough either... That's why I crack the door. If it's not tall enough, it doesn't get enough breeze so you won't get the venturi effect. The wind across the chimney sucks the air in the chimney up. Without the breeze, when you light the fire the heat wants to rise but the is cold air is pushing it down and the sealed house won't let it draw air up. By cracking the door it allows air in and the heat to rise.

A bizzy day in the ole salt mines. I gotta head out early, clean the carb on the snow blower. No significant white stuff in the near future, but it is much nicer to do that when there's light and warm weather :D

Agreed Mark...it's on the agenda for this weekend here too.
Tried the other blend of coffee today; was very nice as was the first. :)

I just finished a cup of the White Eagle, left over in the fridge from this morning's brew...yum.

Katie is giving me fits over going to the Dr tomorrow...started in on a tantrum before I even got to the coffee pot this morn. That was not a good idea! Told her she is going even if I have to throw her over my shoulder like a sack of taters, and as mad as we both were, that southern phrase sent her into a giggle fit! Who knew?? I just discovered a new way to divert her attention :D

Got her in and out of the bath tub, spit shined, and ready for the Dr tomorrow. Hoping I don't have to prove I can shoulder a sack of taters!!

Ugh Mark! Another chore I need to do. Hope you get it figured out without a hassle.

Feel better, Tracy

If a plug doesn't fix it, I'll put it at the bottom of the driveway and let some more mechanically inclined type scoop it and get some use from it.

I do a lot of things myself, but motor things I have just never been interested in. Most of it is really pretty simple, but I just don't enjoy it as much as building stuff like house additions or the little raft/boat.

A new snow thrower will have a functioning electric start (I replaced the one on this machine and it promptly gave up when we had another ice storm), heated handles (even with good gloves those things get cold after an hour), take less muscle power to horse around (so dw doesn't get stuck if I have to travel in the winter - I don't know anyone who plows, & my wife doesn't like strangers on the property when I'm away).
