Two days back I cut the dead Dogwood tree from the front of Mom's house...got the stump up and all that good stuff...I lit the pile at around 5pm yesterday...Several times I had to go out and push the pile up on the bed of coals as I wanted it all burned in one go..Heavy storms/tornadoes/hail were forecast for the early morning and I had to pick up my friend and give him a ride to the hospital when all that was supposed to go down....3am I went out for the last push on the pile...All that went well there's nothing but ash now....While out at the pile I get a text telling me Aunt Azalee had passed at 2:30am...Now I had to be 15 miles up the road at 7:15 and it's past 3am....there ain't hardly gonna be any sleep but I attempt it and doze off as heavy rain pounds the roof...7:15 we hit Chapel Hill and meet Rod's Sis who's a nurse and going in with him...I had figured he's riding back with her and hauled azz home...Cat napping I get a call from his Sis telling me Rod had chest pains and was in the ER...She thinks I'm in the parking lot...We get all that sorted and I tell her to call me and I'll be more than happy to ride the hour one way to get him....Just let me know...She calls late in the day and says Rod was admitted for some transfusions and observation....They had said earlier sinus infection had been responsible for the nose bleeding....His BP had taken a dive and that's why he was admitted....I'm pretty sure something is up besides a sinus infection causing the bleeding...hasn't bled in a couple of days.....BP takes a dive....admitted for transfusion...All that just don't add up....Trust this I'm burnt to a crisp just like that pile....I got honored to carry my Aunt to the grave...I'm gonna miss her terribly....Looking forward to a better day tomorrow...Dee

I'm sorry! When does spring actually start for you? I can't imagine snow this time of year but I've always been in the south.
Oh Dee, my heart aches for you. I'm so sorry to hear of both losses. Prayers of comfort for your family, and Rod's family.

Monday I'm a pall bearer for Aunt Azalee.....Rod's funeral was delayed until Tuesday so I can be a pall bearer for him.....I'm honored but feel a little hollow at this point....
