Chase's dental surgery went fine, they did have to extract 4 teeth. He's waking up, and I can go pick him up in about an hour. Pain meds and antibiotics for a few days will have him doing good.

Katie now has a Town of Manchester appointed conservator, ex's POA is null and void. They also denied his request to continue paying the utility bills on the house for the next six months until his SSDI appeal hearing. I met the conservator at the bank a couple of hours go to give her Katie's SS number and driver's license. Bank accounts are being changed over, and they will move Katie to her new home tomorrow.

I brought Chase home 4pm, we took a nap. I fed him a very small portion for dinner and have been letting him drink water just a little at a time so he doesn't get sick to his stomach. After he ate, he went out like a light and is sleeping. I start his antibiotics and pain meds tomorrow.

Yes on the safety! Fortunately, he's not angry with me...I did recommend to the court that the bills get paid, so that getting shot down isn't on me.

Thank you to all of you for holding me up thru all of this

Thank you, Fran

Change of plans...Katie's move has been postponed until tomorrow so that Brookdale can get her mini apartment ready. I hope the sun stays out today so she and I can spend some time out on her swing :)

Chase is looking much perkier this morning. He's always been easy to give meds to, but I love that this pain med is like a little chewable treat.

Glad Chase is doing well.....Hoping Katy adjusts to her new surroundings with no issue....I don't really call myself a care giver though I guess I am....Really I just try and do what I feel is right....My Dad isn't here and my Sis has a family....I think Dad would be glad I've done what I could to insure Mom got along well....I can only imagine the feelings if Mom had to go too a facility....

Spike is gonna have to get a back tooth removed....I'm gonna be choosing a new Vet prior to all that...Banfield at the PetSmart is only concerned with profit....Staff turnover is high...I know they mistreated Spike 2 visits back and murder is a capital offense so....new Vet no prison

So I got a new tractor so I wouldn't have to work on it....Since I ran it out of fuel it's been having issues that IMO are from the electric fuel lift pump....180 from Kubota....Research found one that specs better than Kubota for 50 and free shipping....Got that Racor filter/water separator coming as well....So a new tractor that does need work but at least it'll have a hot rod fuel delivery system....Pretty sure running that pump dry killed it though I haven't tested it....Symptoms indicate it and I just made a judgement call....

I had to remove a swing and numerous bushes and trees from the septic leech area...That's done and two large trees remain that I will get when it cools down a bit more and hopefully I have a shade more time to do so...It's all by the side of my shop and my house driveway....Gonna add some fill and widen the turn at the corner of the shop heading up to the house...maybe add a little parking area clear of the driveway...Gonna wait on the fuel pump before using the tractor any more though...Trust there's plenty of other stuff I'm behind on....Not juice though....Mixed 3 480s today in anticipation of the new mods arrival....Plus I was down to Buckshot's XXX and it ain't exactly my fav all day....Had to hit the Tractor Supply and thought they had quit carrying the PG but instead gave the cattle stuff it's own isle and double the PG stocked...Tomorrows another day and I've got a small job in the shop to keep me humping until I get back to that damn septic tank...

Dee, you are a caregiver, and I have no doubt that your Dad would be proud

The case manager left with Katie about 45 minutes ago. We had no trouble getting her to go with him, she kept telling him what a good looking man he was, and he promised to take her out to lunch :)

Wow, it all feels very surreal right now. Chase sleeping in my lap, the house eerily quiet. It's gonna hit me in waves.

Thank you! No, ex will be cleared to move back in as his parole expires on Nov 3rd, a week from tomorrow. I'm not worried about it, I can't stop it, and I'll make the best I can of it. He has no doubt that if he steps out of line with me, he'll face the music. I'm hoping to have things ready to move by the following weekend...the weekend of my and Fran's birthday :D

Yes, he's aware of everything. He's been told that it was all started because of his latest parole violation, so he is not blaming me or angry with me. And he does know that he would not be able to meet Katie's care needs here at home. In fact, I was no longer able to give her all the care she needs at this point. I hadn't gotten into explaining her needs here, but things are to the point that I had to dress her, bath her. She's started getting up all hours of the night and roaming. Unlocking the doors in the wee hours of the night. We are at the point of needing 24hr care, and believe it or not, it is cheaper to have her in the memory care unit than it is to have full time in home professional care. Her Long Term care policy covers almost $8k a month facility care, in home care is only 50% coverage.

In my heart, I had no choice but to put Katie's needs first, regardless of the cost to me.
