Wharf,
Kicking millennial .... is easy, as I detest laziness. :).
As for the pond....it looks as though I either lay some liner in there and wrap it around the top, tuck it under the rocks to keep it the same shape or I’ll have to redo the whole thing which I’m not so sure I want to get into. I am not a stone mason (that was ex hubs) and not even sure I’d be able to find the stone he used all those years ago. Bummer!

Fran here's hoping Hubs feels well for a while !!!!

Just in from the beach....30 year old Cub Cadet fired right up with that new battery....Did a great job cutting the yard/jungle...It's here for oil/filters/blades....Tree trimming Lady pinned me down while Spike was loosening his legs after the trip to the beach....She wants a peace accord....I'm good with it....Maybe she learned a little respect...Gonna try and replumb my car wash bay tomorrow....Then tighten what loose ends are sure to surface before finishing off the septic tank drain line....I'll be double damn glad when that's finished...

Hoping all is well with everyone....

Spent the last two days re-plumbing the car wash water....That was pretty cut and dry....Decided to fix the 2 faucets at each end of Mom's breezeway...They froze years back...Replaced the front half of the pipe as that was all I could see busted....Test and leak in the middle....Test #2 leaking on the remainder of old pipe....Yeah it's 100% new pipe now and....... no leaks!!!! Pipe was PVC and I thought only 50% needed replacement so I went with PVC....On the 3rd trip too Lowes I checked out the Pex options....Yeah they had everything in Pex and that would have been so much easier....Let that BassTurd leak again.....

Getting ready to change my mobile account....Boost is my longtime provider...Right now $35 on the phone with 3 gigs data/unlimited talk/ text...$50 for 10 gigs data on the wireless card so $85 a month and I usually get around 3 weeks outta the 10 gigs of internet data....Running the Mack off the 3 gigs on the I Phone presently as the 10 is about burned up.....I've burned about 2 gigs of data on the Mac using the I Phone connection so far and all is good there....new plan is 20 gigs of data and unlimited talk/text for $60....With everything considered it will save @$35 a month and gain 7 gigs of data....Maybe then I can make it a month...

I've become a huge believer in pex and Sharkbite connectors, for anything accessible.

Our backyard outdoor faucet has an 8' run under a raised deck, a problem child with our periodic cold snaps. I switched to pex, added a Sharkbite tee with one leg pointed down and a ball valve - problem solved. Shut off the water just inside the house, then open the faucet and gate valve, and no more issues with freezing.

Mark I had an air tank I'd rigged so the shop air hose connected directly for easy fill...Then I rigged the outlet with a connector so I could attach whatever air tool I needed...I used a pocket blower and pressurized the outside pipes until water was removed...It worked for years....Then one day it disappeared from the back of my truck....I've got a new tank but haven't converted it as of yet....I added the tee and ball valves as you described this time....If I'd known the flower bed lines were totally shot they would be PEX.....PEX will swell when frozen and return to normal when thawed....or so they say....I also purchased a Sharkbite brand crimper in 1/2 and 3/4...The crimp fittings are way cheaper and much less bulk...Lowes had some Sharkbite hose bibs with push to connect and a nice 2 screw mounting flange....When I saw them I already had 90% new PVC installed...Gonna hit Sharkbite and see if they offer 1 inch as the car wash bay uses that....Pressure was weak on 3/4 and plumber friend said there would be no pressure increase at 1 inch....The volume would certainly increase and the pressure was dang near triple as well...That hose is impressive now...

Good morning everyone! Hope all is well.

Shark bite? Yup, my plumber (jack of most trades friend) has been using that at my house whenever a new problem child arises. In this old house, LOTS of problem children arise! I am amazed at how darn easy it looks and how well it’s worked thus far. :)

I’ve been adding water to the pond every couple days, but I’m off today so will be going to Home Depot or Lowe’s to purchase the liner. One of the reviews online stated that they used it for roof leaks and it worked wonderfully....better than prior roofing materials. You know I got leaks!!! Hmmmm?

The last foot of old PVC that remained burst last evening....Ball valve inside basement where the system is turned off/on also leaking....Not really happy about all that and gonna eyeball it before deciding if I'm gonna rip it all out and go with the PEX.....Got my old Cub Cadet super tuned and ready to go back too the beach for year 32 of cutting that grass....I've not seen any smoke but by the amount of oil that came out the Cub may be using a little....Guess nothing lasts forever....

The house hunting has been slow and frustrating, Fran, but I finally got some good news yesterday. Got pre qualified for an FHA mortgage for a smaller amount than the usual $50k most lenders refuse to go below. I now have my agent on the hunt for a place in the $35k range that will pass FHA appraisal. We'll see what kind of deal we can come up with from here.

Tracy, hope the liner works :)
