Another busy week in CNY.

Scuba class completed yesterday, other than for taking the students out for their checkout dives next month.

Camp odds and ends need to be done, including getting the lawn trctor functional. The left deck blade freely spins when I have the mower clutch engaged, versus the right deck blade being snug (as expected); with any luck that will just be a belt needing replacement.

In-laws are coming up for a 10 day visit, so I'll be taking some time off this week to play chauffeur. Of course that happens right when work has picked up a bit :)

Main home projects include setting up a new arbor for DW to grow some specialty melons, and a slightly leaky bathtub/shower faucet. The faucet is going to be a PITA. Based on the handle insignia it's likely a Moen, but the darn hex nut that attaches it to the stem is locked up (gotta get the handle off to try and replace the cartridge). I've tried some silicone lube, next up will be a hex key and couple of taps with a hammer to see if that'll loosen it up.

On the leaking valve, I'd take that as a sign from upstairs - cut it on the incoming side, dtop in a new sharkbite valve and switch to pex on the outlet. I really like how those sharkbites allow transition from copper to pex without any intermediate sweating on of couplers on the copper side :)

Random PIF time [emoji5]

If anyone is interested in an original VandyVape Pulse BF, with cyan doors, they're welcome to it. It's a spare that I picked up on a holiday sale, only used it a couple days (I still have my original gray pulse bf).

It is a mechanical mod, with an off switch inside. It takes a 20700 battery, and comes with a sleeve to use 18650.

As a mech, you want to be comfortable with coils. For a newer person I'd suggest no lower than 0.2 ohms with a 20 amp rated battery (I tend to build 0.4 ohms myself - excellent run time).

It's a nice mod, good for anyone who likes squonking or wants to try squonking. I've switched to my other mech squonkers, the ones I rebuilt with modmaker connectors and my own contacts (the engineer in me likes to fiddle with things [emoji5]).

Happy to toss in a bf rda if you would like it, probably the VandyVape Pulse 24. It's easy to build for, pretty leak resistant, works well with either single or dual coils. Alternately, for higher flavor though you have to be careful to not over-squonk, I could include an Oumier Wasp Nano.

If you know anyone else who might like it, that's fine (just trying to find it a new home).

Fresh out of High School I was a plumber's apprentice....Sweating copper pipe....leading cast iron drain line...The real old school stuff....We would have laughed at plastic water pipe....No more though....

Finally got the breezeway faucets under pressure for more than a couple of hours with no leaks....dang thing burst after about three hours under pressure yesterday though....Must have been 99% split from the freeze...I cut the faucets on and off a couple of times and the pressure build up from that burst the pipe...I couldn't see a split when I cut it out but I saw it spraying water....Gave the Taco a long overdue bath and worked on BiL's mower deck a little....Gonna fix the deck tomorrow....BiL was a little slack on his rock stacking payment for deck repair so.....I tightened his behind up a shade....Rocks are nearly finished now....I get the deck finished then the drain line goes in....After that a little finish grading on the fill and grass seeds to follow that....Then Mom's septic system will be El Dee spec and I will go into hiding from any additional projects for a bit....Dang old golf course nearby is selling off everything...There are several shelters and metal buildings on the auction...Should I be able to steal one there will be no hiding from any project...bottom line with all that work to get it down the price has gotta be low....

Finally... Pulse BF 80W is on it's way !!!

Our house is two-story and we a tile roof that needs repairs. A combo of cheap gutter valley flashing from the builders and slipping tiles. I had a roofer out for an estimate. He gets up there and asks if I have seen any opossums? I said yeah, a couple of times in the flower bed... Why? He said he thought so, there were scratches on the tiles and he thought it was roof rats but the scratching were too narrow. He said the opossums were trying to break in to out attic.... WTH !!! They were climbing up the sides trees to get onto the roof. The bright side is without 2 60' tree... I have a Beautiful view of the southern skies :D

Possums.....Well I certainly don't want then in my attic....I live in the lowlands of the Cape Fear River...A creek runs through the center of my property....Swampy on either side of the property...That means snakey...Snakes are fine unless they're Copperheads....We have seen many Copperheads here and they made it a habit of biting my old Pit Bull male Chopper....May he RIP but that old boy would shred a snake no matter....Possums become immune to the venom produced by snakes in their region....Immune to Copperhead/Cottonmouth/Rattler venom here and snakes are a staple in their diet....There's always a family in a hollow tree down by the creek...I feed "em canned cat food from time to time....Other side of the property and another hollow tree is home to Racoons....They eat all the Blueberries from our plants every year but snakes are also on their menu....I keep a powerful flashlight due to many factors....Last night as Spike was on a nature call I lit up a pair of eyes watching from way to close by....Thinking Bobby the Cat or Coyote I grabbed Spike and put him inside while grabbing my Springfield 40....Turns out there was a Deer licking a just born Fawn just in the edge of the woods...Haven't checked to see if they're still out there yet this morning....I left them be last night...

Hubs went to his Chiro this morning and I tagged along for company. His hips were all out of wack again. Cancer dr called on our way home and told hubs his CT scan of yesterday afternoon was excellent.Huge improvement over the previous test. So no matter what the weather...it's a good day.

Hoping for continued improvement for your Hubs, Fran !!!!

Back in the early 80s I built mobile homes for a minute....Frames are built first then sub-floors....Then vinyl and carpet are stretched across and glued and stapled....Bottom line is the walls are set on top of vinyl and carpet....No biggie unless you change it out later....BiL informed last evening Sis and Mom were shopping laminate for the beach....First everything inside has gotta go including carpet and vinyl....Given the walls sit on top there is only a thin strip of shoe molding at the bottom of all walls....meaning someone will have to add house type shoe molding to trim out the laminate....it's 14X80 with 4 bedrooms....That's a .... ton of shoe and 90* corners????? Not a chance 2 will be the same angle....Then sure as .... Mom asks BiL if he and I can install it.....Carpets and vinyl in there now are fine and dandy....Guessing Fam would be happy if I always had monster projects staring me in the face....Not saying it won't get done but saying it won't be me that does it and I vote leave it be.....

Mama deer and fawn have not been seen since the other night....I'm sure they're doing fine....
