Endured?? We LOVE seeing your family pics!

Mark, that sounds like a good time to me. I hope your knee is doing ok.

Ha! I can't wait to see what I do with this place either! Right now I'm sleeping on a cheap queen size air mattress on the floor

Here's a pic of my vintage bathroom sink, underneath it says "American Standard, made in USA, manufacture date 10/08/1940." I'm hoping I can eventually afford to have it and the tub re-coated!

We still have high pressure off shore holding a stalled cold front in place...This has led to some Hades raising rain storms....Neighbor said Wednesday it had rained 12 straight days so I guess 14 now...Today there was a full fledged Monsoon....

Boot wise after I bought my first Docs way back when I've never strayed....

One winter day I walked up on a seal on the beach here...We don't see a lot of seals....Dang thing threatened to attack and I was just checking on his/her welfare....

Dang old 40th class reunion tomorrow night....I got a brand spanking new pair of Vans Old School Pro Model...some new Levis and a Chaps black knit shirt just waiting....I know life here hasn't been a walk in the park but some of those classmates must have really had a rough row to hoe....FB pics you know...I don't suspect them to be any better in person....Wore 34/34 Levis my Senior year....33/32 today

Hooked up with the new pressure washer yesterday....It was 100 off on sale and I wrangled another 10% due to a small hole in the box...I beached about the hole due to the rain outside...I was gifted plastic to cover but duct taped the hole and hauled buggy....Everything was perfect inside when I unboxed....Went from 2000 psi too 4000 psi and HeckYeah it will let the water fly....

She bought two pair... One with High Heels. She has worn boots almost exclusively for 6-8 years and said she won't buy anything else again.

Awesome shot Mark !!!... Hoping everyone has a Grateful Weekend

Slept in a bit today, and could still sleep more. Started working on the hot mess that is the kitchen stove yesterday eve. It's a smooth top somewhere under all that burnt on gunk! Newspaper laid on the top, saturated with windex to soak, and a razor scraper is cutting thru a layer at a time. I am REALLY dreading the oven! Single man was the tenant here, and looks like he broiled things straight on the racks.

Got sidetracked when the toilet decided it was too lazy to properly flush so that took priority. It's not a drain clog, it's a piece of plastic in the siphon jet hole that broke off the float inside the tank. Not being needed, I took the other one off the chain so it don't happen again. Off to get a needle nose pliar once I get enough coffee in me!

Have a great time at your reunion, Dee! You'll be the best looking man there...guaranteed :)

You got that right, Fran! The bathroom project took a turn for the worse tho. After turning the water on and off several times, the inlet valve decided to chit the bed. Poor Carlos is gonna be sorry he told me to call him if anything needs fixing before we close on the house. He came and looked at it to make sure he knew what he needed, he'll be back in the morning to fix it

The inlet valve is fixed. The plastic piece is still flopping around in that Twilight Zone behind the siphon hole, and the "universal fit" flush handle I bought didn't work for my slanted side tank. I'm pooped...but at least I have a pot to poop in

Let me introduce to you the evil twin of the piece of plastic in the pic of an earlier post. Finally got it out with the curved needle nose! Pot now flushing fine :)

Got the stove mostly cleaned, along with the floor and sides of cabinets that I pulled the stove away from. Still need to finish the oven door. I had to stop after cutting a big jagged chunk out of my pointer finger. Sore + psoriatic arthritis flare in my lower back means lots of ibuprofen = hard to get bleeding to stop. It's a flap cut, so every time I flex my finger it pops open again.

    Still grateful and happy!

Ran headfirst into a cluster getting the deck ready for stain....Deck behind the garage is connected to a small porch at the front of the garage by a breezeway...Rear deck is all stain...Mom had to paint the railing on the front with white paint and that was peeling...I pressure washed off some paint with my old pressure washer.....some more with the new pressure washer....Got some of the orange paint stripper and it took off a little more...Side note....If you need paint stripper skip that orange stuff and go with the old tried and true methylene chloride stuff that will eat skin and paint.......Finally in disgust and three days later I fired up the new pressure washer and hosed off the third application of the orange stripper...When I built those rails I used a herringbone pattern.... I got the directions from some woodworking book....Paint still here and there and now deep grooves in the wood's grain from repeatedly pressure washing....Took the sledge hammer to it and went and got materials for the rails yesterday....So three days....$50 for stripper/chip brushes/little plastic buckets and such and it whipped my buttocks.....Three 4X4s are all that remain and they go through the deck into the ground...They're grooved out pretty good as well so I got a couple of sandpaper packs when I got the 2X6s and pickets for the rails....Already sanded for about an hour before my back decided enough for one day and my back doesn't give me any issue....I'll doll them up all I can and build the new rails before dark....I hope....Anybody notices the 4X4s I'm claiming they're exotic hardwood from the West Coast of Africa....Hopefully by tomorrow or Wednesday I can start with the staining.....

One particular classmate who happens to be a retired highway patrol twisted my arm on that class reunion...Our first reunion I didn't attend at 35 years since and this one was 40 since....We went too our OG school for 11 years and the county built the new one for our 12th year....There was animosity....Some classmates ordered class rings with the OG school on their own....3 schools combined for the new school...On the day of the patrolman posted he couldn't attend....Of the 100 or so that did 7 were from my OG school....A little disappointed by that but quiet frankly people often disappoint me....It was great as there was only one classmate I'd even seen in those 40 years and I was friends with dang near everyone in the class...the food was about as disappointing as my classmates though....I'll be there for 45 good man above willing.....

    Any pics today,Bov?:)

Not today, Fran...tho I wish I had taken pics of the before and after on the stove. I still have more to do, but want to give my finger a few days to close itself up.

Yesterday was spent picking up needed items. That "universal fits all shapes" toilet handle and assembly was not interested in working for a slant sided toilet tank. Since I had already cut to length the inner arm, I couldn't get my $10 back at Lowes. Made sure I took my reading glasses this time and got one with a bendable metal arm that says it'll bend to fit slant sided tanks...we'll see!

Got rid of the standard shower head since I prefer a hand held, and it makes bathing Chase much easier. It's an old cast iron tub that needs reglazing badly, I'll have to price that...it's not a necessity right now. The funky twist to open and shut the drain plug had to go, it was bent and wouldn't hold water. A little WD-40 help got the set screw loose to take off the cap only for me to discover the stem sticks up too high for a good old rubber plug or flapper plug to work. I bought a new drain assembly with/for a rubber stopper yesterday, but the toilet FUBAR has me a little hesitant. My luck would be as soon as I unscrew the flange, the drain shoe will fall into the crawl space  I forgot to get plumber's putty...that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it ;)

Today I think I'll just rest, and wait for the FHA Appraiser to call. I missed his call yesterday since I don't answer my cell when I'm driving.

Dee, in relation to your deck rail frustration, as I've gotten older I look at "decorative" things with a different perspective. Intricate means more time consuming to maintain/paint/dust, etc! I hope you get to rest soon.

Oh yeah Fran, this is especially for you since you have to constantly remind me he doesn't deserve my kindness...hopefully the last update w/r to the ex. He got back out of prison the same day I moved into my house. He messaged me on FB (forgot about that possibility) asking for my new phone number and email addy. I replied that all he needed to know is that "Chase is fine and loves his new home. Beyond that, I have not reason or desire to have any further communication." Then I blocked and deleted him :)
