Slept in my own bed, YAY! Felt so good I slept until 11am! Got boxes stacked that need unpacking, but all my stuff is finally home

Dee, I had a text from Steph this morning with the link to SCEMD app. She came over for a bit last night and we talked about Florence's track, what I need to lay in as far as supplies...just in case. Please Lord, don't take my house before I can even get my sheet unpacked!! Looking like I picked the wrong day to sleep late. I'll be lucky to find a case of water by the time I get to town. Candles, flashlights, batts, dog food, and canned goods I already have, I need to pick up a car phone charger too, I reckon. If they named hurricanes after men, this one would for sure be named Kevin...getting his last laugh in on me

Mark i just ordered the Galaxies and looking forward to try it. I'm going to try it on the Le Petit Gros (my mini mech). I'm using the Vapecell 18350, 1100mHa and 10A. Running it at .46Ω with a nice warm vape.

We have a none to happy RVP coming to town Monday morning...

Fran, I took a couple of pics for you after I rolled out my new rug and underpad. They aren't the greatest pics but I still haven't figured out all the secrets of my phone camera Need to let the rug relax few days, I have a small sofa coming from Overstock next week...weather permitting! Rug and pad from Overstock as well. LOVE Labor Day sales! Furniture placement sure would be easier if they had run the central ductwork in the attic instead of the crawlspace. Living room is 12x15, rug is 7'6"x11

They're saying we're gonna experience a landfall Thursday night....Cat 4 @ 145mph....I've been through way more than my share of hurricanes....Never one even close to the strength of Florence....Preparations have already begun and will continue until the storm arrives...I've got a really bad feeling about all of this....Dee

The worst hurricane that I experienced was Carol in '54. I was only 5 years old, but I remember seeing our neighbors roof shingles flying down the street.

Prayers that Flo or whatever the heck it’s name is, takes a sudden turn and misses everyone.

Fran, those African violets have already lost most of their blooms and I haven’t even transplanted them yet! I swear they hate me. Lol

Sandy is the only hurricane that caused me any grief too, Tracy. Yall got hit worse, but I recall being out of power in Ct for about 2 weeks. I'm concerned more about the sustained winds and spin off storms here. I have beautiful shade on my house, but that means being surrounded by trees. Pokey's words of encouragement are to remember that these gorgeous trees have weathered many a storm in their lives.

House plants all hate me! I used to have a rose garden years ago, but made sure to plant varieties that did well to the locale, and were resistant to things like powdery mildew. Not sure what I'll do here as far as landscaping and flowers yet. The yard definitely needs some love!

They hate me too! My Dad bought me a favorite of his one year...the powder mildew stuff got it. I’m not a huge fan of roses though so.

Bov I can’t wait to see how you decorate/landscape your home!!

I'm not planning to go crazy with gardening or landscaping here. I don't want a whole lot of stuff I have to work too hard to take care of! I don't have gutters on my house, so I'm thinking of rimming the house with a white rock border to control erosion, and splash of dirt onto the siding. Maybe a few Crepe Myrtles along the north side property line, to add a little bit of buffer between my yard and the brick duplex next door. The neighbors in both rentals are nice, but they need to be nice on their own side

I do still want to do a paver patio in the back, about 12x12. Anybody who wants to help is welcome to come on down LOL!
