I love how you're quick to characterize me as something I'm not based on a single statement that I fully clarified in subsequent posts. Not only doesn't it advance your cause to immediately label someone as a stereotype and dismiss them out of hand, it makes you look very close minded and dogmatic.

I'd say you hit the nail right on the head. Did it smart? Quick, rub it in!

I never appreciate it when people jump to conclusions based on little or no evidence. Notice for example that I haven't accused sattec of being a Limbaugh zombie or some similarly offensive thing. I give him the benefit of the doubt because I don't know him. All I ask is that the same deference be applied to me.

Im sure i read somewhere on here about the most workplace accidents happening on No Smoking day than any other day because when people give up for the day but they cant concentrate as well as the could when they were smoking.

Its bad enough being absent minded in a warehouse but this would be a pretty stupid thing to do in Iraq.

Didn't the term "smoke 'em if you got 'em" originate in the military?
Good article, Mac. Ladyraj, you have family serving, right? And Raven is helping out BIG TIME. Wonder if there's any dissent going on, ha, people getting wrote up for packing heat? How does this no-smoking campaign mix with Don't ask, don't tell. Yikes.
Don't ask, Don't tell, Don't Smoke. What's next, Don't Shoot?

I'm in the United States Air Force, And I can tell you, that if this was even slightly a possibility, We'd have known about it by now.

I would highly suggest no one tries to take cigarettes away from the USAF.....we have nukes.....and if you've read the papers, we don't secure them all that well.........one missed smoke break it all it takes FDA....all it takes.

The only limitations the military has on smoking is A. Dont smoke and walk while in uniform....its a disgrace to the men and women who have died before you to keep that uniform free. And B. No smoking within XX feet of a military building or XX feet of a building entrance when XX feet from the building is not possible. And of course no smoking inside.....

Smoking cessation is offered to all military members who wish to quit for no charge. Also, you are constantly warned of it's dangers.

HOWEVER, The military has never once told me not to smoke...I was told in smoking cessation that it is one of the single best forms of stress relief......and ya know we just happen to be under a lot of stress most of the time. The day smoking is banned from the military is the day me and my M4 go to tell the FDA how we really feel.

hey when i lived in the barracks they told me no smoking but since my room mate was a smoker we put our money into a 150 dollar fan and had the fan blow the smoke out the window. I was on the top floor and was not about to go down 8 flights of stairs in the middle of halo wars in the barracks. It was just not happening. I was a four floor building with 8 flights of stairs...it was stupid design building. Anyway you get my point.
