So I think I can safely say I don't smoke cigs anymore, it's been quite a while and I can't see myself going back to cigarettes ever again. The thing is vaping has become an addiction all in its own, is this good or bad? I'm not really sure quite yet. My point is now that I have stopped smoking cigs, which is why I starting vaping in the first place. What now? Do I try to stop vaping now or what? I don't really want to lol. To put it in contrast I kinda feel like a runner that has crossed the finish line and doesn't stop. Because we all have to stop someday right? Don't we?

Ps. I'm not stoping lol

I feel like I'm getting that way...I don't want a cigarette anymore but I'm wondering if now is the time to reduce my nicotine intake? Apart from anything else, the threats to ban it are freaking me out more and more and the sooner I can cut my nicotine down, the better! If it is like running a race, runners keep running to cool down- either that or they stand in a vat of ice-cold water and that's not the kind of cold turkey I fancy! Brrrrrrr!x

Haha! Loved your p.s. I too have zero desire to stop vaping, I love it! I consider vaping a hobby and not an addiction. It's easier to justify an obsession if you label it a hobby :D Sure I'm still addicted to nicotine, but I'm ok with that. I'm addicted to caffeine too, and I'm also ok with that. Neither are healthy, but not too harmful. I've stopped my more harmful addictions a while back and have no guilt about enjoying these two mild (and for me, relaxing) stimulants.

personalty after 20 years of smoking and failing to quit many times over until i found ecigs i dont really have any intention of quitting them, i may cut down on the nicotine used in my DIY juices (i use about 18mg now) i really have no reason to quit and i enjoy it and feel much healthier now, and as far as we know it is as safe as caffeine which i would also never consider quitting lol.

A lot if not most smokers that have switched to vaping continue vaping. They enjoy the flavors, not stinking & coughing, getting vape mail, trying new toys, the hand to mouth thing etc. For some it turns into a hobby...a hobby that can be more costly than smoking but since it's healthier and fun why not. You have to do what is best for you. I'll be vaping the rest of my life because I enjoy it. I have lowered my nic level since I started and I may lower it more but I'll never stop and the FDA can't make me. I'm stocked for the rest of my life. :D

The one thing I have noticed about vaping is that without all the other addictive additives that they put into tobacco it is easier to cut back and quit if you want to.

True. I can go hours without vaping if I have and not go crazy with cravings. Couldn't do that when I smoked.

If your goal is to totally quit then just slowly wean down on your nicotine level until you are at 0. Myself? I loved smoking... I just didn't like what it was doing to my health. I went to vaping for my own health's sake (because I wanted to) and I have no intention of ever quitting vaping. The benefit of living in a free country is making your OWN decisions on what you do or don't do and living with the consequences. Quit if that is what YOU want to do... the hell with what anyone else thinks or feels about it.
I can think of no worse life than to be a societal sheep... or Lemming. So to the OP, do whatever YOU want. That's the benefit of living in a free country.

Hmmm, I used vaping to quit cigarettes, and then almost quit vaping and started up again. Oh well I think I have a new habit and a hobby. The one thing I have noticed about vaping is that without all the other addictive additives that they put into tobacco it is easier to cut back and quit if you want to.

I totally agree. Nicotine isn't as hard to cut out as people think. It's the other crap you get in cigs that make them sooooo addicting. I believe the habbit of smoking is one of the strongest things to break, but with e-cigs you don't have to quit like you would nic gum or patch. Then after a while after your body adjust to not smoking it is much easier to cut vaping out too if you want. Not saying it is easy, may be more difficult for some than others, but definitely easier.

I vape anywhere from 0-12mg nic. My goal was to quit smokeing. I did. I will never smoke again and now vaping is just fun. I can honestly say that I can go days and even months without even vaping, because I have. Everyone has different goal or different reasons they started vaping. And really nic on it own is just a stimulant like caffeine. I view it as a fun consumable. I don't think I will ever quit vaping entirely. But I do not need it like I did cigs. For instance I would literally want to rip someones head off if I didn't have a cig. With vaping its more like... do I want it or not... meh... take it or leave it. No strong feelings. It's not like an addiction to me in other words. There is no "need". It is just fun.

Really depends on what your goals are.. Myself personally, I haven't smoked in well over a year and I'm still vaping 18mg daily. I like it, it's a fun hobby at this point and somewhere down the road I might wake up and decide one day that I'm done. Who knows though, I'm rolling with it for now.

I also have ADD too, so the oral fixation and constantly having my PV in my hand seem to cut down on a lot of my jittery/tappyness when I'm just sitting or standing around. Usually if I don't have my PV in hand, I'm usually spinning a pen or playing with something. I don't even notice I'm it most of the time haha.

I'm still in that "almost quit smoking" stage. From 40 a day to 6-8. The other day, I drove for 7 hours without smoking or vaping. I was not anxious, fidgety, or "wanting". That was a good feeling that I did not have when I would chain smoke while behind the wheel.
So I think it will be much easier to stop vaping than it has been to stop smoking. Especially since I haven't totally quit yet!
