NPR, surprisingly, has this fairly balanced story on the dissolvables debate that mentions in passing that the person interviewed used an e-cigarette to stop smoking. They also quote Bill Godshall, though too briefly.

That's me! I'm very pleased with how this turned out, as I was a a bit of a bumbling fool during the interview because I'm not accustomed to trying to speak in soundbites.

Well, you managed to provide them with some excellent soundbites, such as this straight-to-the point nugget:

"The public health people are saying, 'Oh, we need to wait, we need to still get more data,'" he says. "Every day and every year that they wait to tell the truth about the relative risks of different tobacco products, more people are dying."

That's the harm reduction argument in a nutshell right there!

Ms. English' NPR story was apparently derived from the story she did for WHYY, a local Philadelphia PBS affiliate.

Melt-in-your-mouth tobacco on trial?

Bill Godshall is omitted, Matthews Myers is added, the story unnecessarily interjects opposition of e-cigarettes into an article about dissolvable tobacco, and my charge that the "Wait and see" attitude is killing people was also partially excised. Far from the worst story, but still enjoyed the NPR version more.
