Kristen can cook, it's just....... different.
That's probably how my family would describe my cooking - but likely for different reasons altogether
They used to say that each time I walked into the kitchen the oven audibly groaned :(

I don't care too much for cooking ...love eating, but cooking doesn't appeal unless it's something like a Stroganoff, Bolognese or Kleftico :)
Oh, apparently I do cook a pretty good fillet steak too!

Congrats Red!! I remember you trying to make it a week and we told you it would happen and you were clinging to the juice and us and then you did it! Through hell and everything, you did it! And when you hit your year mark you will be just as surprised and just as triumphant as that first week and you should be! CELEBRATE!!!!! :headbang:

Yay! Hey I just realized I hit 3 months :D

Hey Redfishin, look what I found:

"Hello, new to the forum
I have been vaping for about 5-6months, but have not been able to kick analogs for good. I have greatly reduced the amount I smoke, but just can't seem to get off of them completely. I was a 2 pad smoker. When I am at home I am down to 2-4 cigarettes a day, but at work I still smoke 10 to 15 a day. I guess one good thing is I no longer smoke in my truck, only vape. Anyone have any suggestions on how to fully kick the smoking habit. I vape at work, but just don't seem to be able to leave the smokes alone, due to the stress of my job. I am currently vaping 12mg, I have tried 18mg off and on, but it didn't seem to make a difference. Maybe I should try it again. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks"

You should be very proud of yourself, congratulations....

Haha, thanks. Geeze that seems like so long ago. Unfortunately still going through some hell with windstorm certification problems on the house. We get one thing taken care of and two more pop up. But I am still making it and will not go back to smokes. In fact I have been at strictly 12mg for a while and have been vaping 6mg on the weekends when I'm not at work. Going to start mixing some of my old 18mg with 0mg to get to 9 and see how that works for an at work vape. Thanks for all the support everyone.

 That's it, go on ..laugh!

When out two sons were still at home and my husband at work, I'd cook dinner and they'd all arrive home & sit down ...what did they do first? - turn the pork chop/burger/fish fillet or whatever over to check the underside wasn't burnt and hidden!

Both my parents were excellent cooks, and I think it skipped a generation: eldest can cook a full Christmas dinner, and make the Christmas puddings, cakes and pies - even his own 3 tier wedding cake.
Younger one also cooks (was a trainee chef many years back - became a copywriter when he got dermatitis from flour) he cooks dinner for his family most days.

.....none of em can paint though! :p

That's sort of the deal in our house, I do the cooking and my wife takes care of being the wonderful person that she is. She continues to love me and shields the world from my obnoxious, crabby personality and I feed people...

That last sentence has a ring of familiarity in it! ;)
I'm not totally useless - I do all the laundry and most of the cleaning, the banking and bill paying, shopping etc. :)

...I must say though, our supermarket has a lovely ready made Rogan Josh! ;)

I used to love to cook, and was pretty good at it, but since I went on nights I very rarely cook now unless you'd call a TV dinner in the microwave cooking. I'm hoping that once I go back on days I'll remember how to cook. I really, really miss it! I even made my own bread which I don't do now. :(

Get a bread machine with a timer. You can add the ingredients before you leave for work and have a hot loaf ready when you get home. I use mine to mix and knead the dough, which I then finish the process of form, raise, and bake in the oven.

Great idea!! I have one but haven't used it lately. I think I'll pull it out tomorrow. Thanks for the reminder! :) I do the same thing as you when I want fresh yeast rolls for special occasions.
