Recently gave up my favorite e-liquid because of "diacetyl, acetoin and acetyl propionyl" issue.
Are all those favors in your website safe in that regard ? (even for buttery, vanilla, creamy ones ??? even when heated ???)
Thanks in advance !

HeyJin! Our flavors are completely free of diacetyl, and we like to use alternative molecules in order to achieve creamy buttery custard flavors. We've found the sharp butter cream taste from those three molecules specifically is something coincidentally all of us at the lab are not fond of, so the decision was fairly easy for us to decide to move to flavors free of diacetyl or aceitone.

Thank you for the details. Now I know who's getting my next order of e-liquids. !
Cheers.

Great news to all our fellow DIY’ers – We have just added our own ethly maltol (EM) stock solutions to the webpage. Great for DIY’ers tired of solvating their own crystals looking for a quality stock solution. And on another note, our glass vials have finally arrived! All of our concentrated flavors will now ship in clear glass vials with polycone caps, a welcome change from the conicals :) Due to customer interest, we have also uploaded 30mL (1oz) sizes to our concentrated flavors as well. Happy DIYing everyone! Let’s ring in the new year with some liquid you formulated with your own two hands :)

PS - eLiquids to be replaced with glass vials as well, just as soon as our custom droppers arrive! We are getting these custom made for our application so please bear with us :)

Outstanding and continued best wishes!

EDIT: You may also wish to consider selling just the new glass vials with poly caps. Seems I never ever have enough "glass" and these are ideal for mixes and storage so sell me some please. :)

What do you mean by alternative molecules?

I'm really curious about what makes up a flavoring. There seems to be so many myths and rumors flying around that it would be nice to know enough to carry on some sort of conversation. Even an outline or glossery would be helpful.

Why did NN choose to go with VG vs. the standard PG in the first place?

There's also been a lot of talk about using a 9% saline solution with VG mixes. Do you use that?

Absolutely :) we'll get pages drafted to upload this week for everyone! And when our glass droppers arrive for all sizes, we will make sure to upload those as well.

Jake turned me into a customer for life today. :)

Wonderful customer service that goes the extra mile.

The nic base and flavorings are amazing.

Thanks from all of us in the lab! Comments like this really keep the fire burning :) Much love

Acetoin is our go-to in place of diacetyl. Our diligent research over the course of our history in business from FDA releases and peer-reviewed papers from inhalation studies lead us to place the carcinogenic and cytotoxic effects of butter/custard flavors on the diacetyl molecule. Here's a quick reference, but let me see if I can pull up and good amount more and do a big 'dump' of info in this thread :)

http://ntp.niehs.nih.gov/ntp/htdocs/chem_background/exsumpdf/artificial_butter_flavoring.pdf

As for VG over PG, in our flavorings the VG was used as a component to assist in the solubility of larger spectrum of components compared to pure alcohol (similar/same to the reasons PG is used), however we wanted to be conscious of the PG-free vaping community in this process. Since we had the ability, our thought was why not? Although the distillations take a bit longer due to the viscosity of VG over PG, there is always hope with a bit of heat and proper mixing :)

PS. It'd be nice to post links to your shows. I didn't realize you were doing an ongoing segment.

Absolutely! I'll link everyone in this thread :) good idea!

I recently purchased 500 mls of armor and by my calculations that should last me close to 2 years. I would like to stock up more but the recommended shelf life is 2 years. I am having a hard time comprehending how nicotine frozen at minus 4 degrees could lose potency or even spoil.

Us as well! We've kept samples on-hand for the same purpose and when we reach that mark, of course we will publish our results. We've only been in business since April, but are looking to publish data as we progress on the stability of such samples. Only data we've found online is for argon-sealed ampules stored @ ROOM TEMP, so it will be interesting for all of us to see what data we achieve. The -year expiration date was based on the argon-sealed ampules stored at room temperature, so we reason storing at the cooler temperature will the proper argon-blanket and sealed bottle will achieve the same results.

BTW, pure nic, or even PG/VG, won't freeze at that temp :) Cryo? That's a different story!

if i were to make an extraction of an herb (sage for example Salvia apiana - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) would that be safe to vape?

would this be safe to vape? http://www.vitacost.com/herb-pharm-sage-liquid-herbal-extract

I'm glad you're carrying so many DIY supplies, I have two of your concentrates and am collecting ingredients but haven't started yet ;)

Looking at the ingredients, I can see polar solvents, yay! However, to be sure the non-polar constituents have been adequately removed during the extraction process, I'd only feel comfortable vaping after performing my own liquid-liquid extraction on the extract, and then reconstituting. Similar strategy to the patchouli portion of our patchouli vanilla. You're onto something here Toni!

Update 1/29/14:

And the glass bottles have finally arrived for our eLiquids! To accommodate our new borosilicate glass vials for our eliquids and concentrated flavorings, we have slightly altered the sizing of our eliquids - from 5, 10, 30, and 50mL to 5, 15, 30, and 50mL. These vials are excellent slender and straight clear glass, which makes carrying even a 30mL size in your pocket no larger than a standard sized mod! Glass droppers are due to arrive mid-February, as we had to have these custom made; wanted to be sure the tips reached 1mm from the bottom of these vials, as well as a special surprise in store for the 5mL size :) Until the droppers arrive, we will be using the same polycone caps as our concentrated flavorings use, but of course include a transfer pipette for your convenience.

In celebration of the release of our entire line in borosilicate glass bottles, we would like to extend a 15%-off coupon code on any of our sweet, savory, or tobacco/menthol eLiquids in all aliquot sizes! Use the coupon code "builtborosilicatetough15" at the checkout page until February 15th, 2014. As always get in touch if you have any issues :) At Nude Nicotine, we're built borosilicate tough!

(I'll upload some pictures of the new bottles today for everyone!)

The grade of argon we use here in the laboratory for that purpose is UHP Medical Grade gasses. (UHP = 99.9% ultra high pure). make sure you are getting a medical grade UHP gas and not an argon suited for technical uses :) We have an account with airgas out here in CA that we love very much! It is invaluable for the production of our Nude Armor EXTENDED SHELF-Life Nicotine Base!

Hey Aviz,
Moving files over to a new server to combat the increased traffic we've has as of recent months :) Should be up within the day!

Looks like it's back up! If for any reason it goes back down again, please let us know! Working hard to make sure our files are hosted on a secure server that can handle this large volume of traffic. Which means one thing. You guys are showing the love! Thank you for destroying our old hosting plan! We can only move on to bigger and greater things with your help en-masse; whether is be a blessing in disguise or not :)
