Spydro how I've missed your posts about buying this or that or how you now have 15 of this and 38 of that! Congrats on REO #10!

Pauly3

Thanks for the grats on #10 Pauly. The Reos definitely have been a serious game changer for me. There will be more Reo 18650 LP somethings coming my way over the next months... metals & woods for sure, and maybe even a resin.

Or it's too short, I had to bring my center pins out more so I could use an o ring

OK, I'm lost in this thread. My Nuppin won't fire on my Reos anymore for some reason, reads on an ohm meter and fires on standard mod but not my Reos. Tried pushing the 510 down as it seems it must not be making connection but doesn't seem to budge, not screw adjustable either. Is there a fix?

The 510 post and it's gasket in the Reos has compressed is no longer as high as it once was. You can adjust the 510 in the Nuppin counter clockwise to lower it. If you cannot get it to turn by hand, wrap a piece of leather around to protect it and use vice grips or channel locks to hold it while you turn the center pin.

Thanks FB. Do you mean turn what looks like the 510 adjustment that has the groove for a standard screwdriver or do you mean turn the entire barrel? Your description of using vice grips makes me think you are talking about the entire barrel.

Edit: just tried adjusting the 510 screw and seemed to work, thanks again! BTW, I swear I tried that a while ago but didn't seem to do anything, guess I just had to show it who's boss..lol.

I have a couple of machinists vices, keep one in the house that can bolt down to a 3/4" thick SS plate inlaid into a Swanstone top on a solid maple "desk" I made that fits right in with the decor as a piece of furniture. It actually started out as a reloading bench that the press and other tools could bolt down on.

ICYDK what Swanstone is: It's a granite looking solid surface material unlike the others (Corian, Surell, Gibraltar, etc) because it is temperature crack proof, fire proof and impact proof, and it can be easily fabricated into just about anything you want. It's nearly indestructible so is as perfect for a work bench as it is for kitchen/bath/shower/spa/hot tub, etc. I spent a few days at the Swanstone corporate office in St. Louis and their plant in Centralia, IL back in the early 90's doing some manufacturing engineering/employee training for them.

Not really, I worried about the metal heating up and loosening the cup if I cut it or ground it. So I went old school with just some 180 grit paper, took maybe 20 minutes.

Ah yes, brass is your friend in this case. Nicely done... and courageous.
