Russ, why on god's green earth do you have such long legs on the ground sides of your coils?

That makes NO sense to me. Legs on coils should be as short as possible 'cause long legs do nothing but waste power. I don't normally build such tiny little 29 gauge coils, but will throw a set in one just to show how it (IMO) should be done, you Nuppin n00b you! ;)

OK, I slapped together some ugly coils with similar specs real quick. They're 29 gauge, hand-wound, on a 1/16" bit.

Notice how the ground leg comes almost straight out of the hole to the coil and is MUCH shorter? Oh, and that build meters out to about 0.44 ohms.

To me the ground hole is the reference location for the coil. If you're building coils that are too long or too short to line up decently with the hole in the center post when using the ground holes as your location reference, you can turn the center post. Yes, it's tight. You'll need a screw driver bit that really fits and something to hold the atty base tightly without marring it too, but it absolutely is adjustable.

Yes, I will tighten that up big time next time. I need to cut the neg lead about 1/2 as long as I did. It does look obscene in that pic :)

But it's vaping great :)

Just rebuilt it in about 10 minutes from walk into my office to vape. Used the edge of the uprights on the wire gizmo as a gauge to trim the neg leg - yep, cut it dead even with the edge of the upright with the rod / coil still in it and the wire tensioned back to the reel.

Perfect.

Now, back to life :)

Edit: Oh and that 10 minutes included taking that picture and putting everything away.

Actually as i tried to explain to Russ in a text, you want the negative to go straight down from the coil into the capture hole as shown in these pics...

Yeah, um, I'm not that skilled my man. But my build is straight KICKIN AYUSS :)

Now that I look at it, I think my build is more symmetrical so there (in my best little girl voice :))

My second one arrived safely :) Haven't built it yet.. I imagine they are all gone now. [emoji15]

This is how I place my coils-this one is a single build this time. (Have the tail going straight down into the hole. )My old eyes and knarly hands got along better with this build and it's vaping pretty fantastically [emoji4]

Well, I made a play for one of the last. May have been too late. I love my new Reo, and I'm having trouble imagining an atty that I would like BETTER than the Nuppin. Seems a little silly to buy the atty before the mod, but eventually having another Reo, but not another Nuppin would make me sad. :(

I'm still waiting for my BF mods, so I shoved a toothpick up the Nuppin's 510 pin. It'll be a dripper for another month.
