You may want to visit your local hardware store and see if they have o-rings that are a similar diameter but thicker.

Another option is stretching the o-ring around the brass portion of the RM2 above the 510 connection. You may get more placement options with the o-ring there instead of inside the catch cup. As an added bonus, it'll hide the brass when attached.

Thinner, you mean--right? Yeah, I tried that but didn't have any luck finding a thinner o-ring in that diameter.
Tried your suggestion of stretching the bottle-size o-ring around the brass but its too thick there to make a connection also. Seemed like a good idea though. Thanks.:)

I wore mine on my pinky for a little while to stretch it and make it a bit thinner.

I guess I should have saved the stretched bottle o-rings that no longer would provide a seal in my bottles over the years. You just never know, do you? Never throw anything away.:)

I would say thicker too. That oring for the drip well that comes with the RM2 is 1mm thick. Anything thinner (exists but hard to find) would be kind of useless as the base of the atty will rest on the 510. I use 1.5mm thick orings but I like my atties very tight. On my VVG & a certain atty I have to use 1/16" wall which is even thicker. I'd say 1.2mm -1.3mm wall orings would be good if the 1mm wall is not working out for most.

If I can't make contact with a bottle o-ring which is what I received with my RM2, how will I do so with a thicker o-ring??

I just replaced my oring with one I had from a drip shild. It was the same diameter but twice as thick. Works way better than the thin one. Also when I squonk now I can hear a slurp noise from the juice getting sucked back. I think with the thin one it was sucking air around the rm2 and not sucking the juice back so well. With the larger one it squishes down and makes a better seal in the catch cup. I also noticed for some reason my bottle is easier to press. Kind of strange almost like something was blocked partially off

The bottle oring is 1/16" wall. 1/16" is just under 1.6mm. I see that you said your RM2 came with the same oring as the bottle? The RM2s that I got all came with 1mm wall orings.

Most hardware & plumbing stores in the US do not carry metric orings. 1/16" is the thinnest walled oring commonly available for imperial orings.

Yes, I think my RM2's came with the wrong o-rings.

This is the oring that comes with the RM2.

I see now Robert has 1.5mm wall orings listed now, that is the same size that I have been using with my atties.

I doubt any of us girls could screw them down enough to do damage. I've been at a local B&M showing my various REOs off and several guys have taken attys off/put attys on my REO. I had to really watch because every single guy screwed every single atty on tighter than I ever did any of them.

Related story: My dad was an auto mechanic, so naturally he would work on our cars.... My sisters and I (three girls) always knew that if we ever had a flat, we were doomed. Even with standing on the tire iron and jumping on it, none of us could EVER unscrew the lug nuts if Daddy had put them on. I've seen that same pattern repeated throughout my life with every guy I know. So....back to topic: I don't think we're going to break these things. They were built by a guy....so they're probably able to withstand WAY more torque than we could ever apply.

i'm not so sure about that. i've read enough of Feisty's posts, for example, that i'm reasonably sure she could wipe the floor with me...

Very kind of you but my gut feeling is that I should first try to get my hands on the correct original o-rings that should come with the RM2. Your thoughts?

Yeah probably a good idea to try the original first if you never have (as it seems). As I mentioned I never had luck with them & it seems like CatMommy hasn't either. If you want I'll send you a 1mm also, I don't use them. Up to you, offer stands until I run out of stamps (I rarely buy stamps). :)

I remembered something I read the other day. A post made by Robert. This is the link:http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/reos-mods/469322-how-set-up-your-rm2-so-no-juice-catchcup.html#post10727356

Here is what he said:

Great vid Russ you are getting some nice clouds with them micro coils . The only thing I would say is leave the cap on the rba as your screwing your atomizer on push the power button . As soon as your atomizer starts to sizzle you dont have to go much further . One of the reasons I dont send the atomizers with big o rings is people cant get there mods to fire or I am always afraid they will screw it on to tight and over compress there gaskets . With care your method works great thanks for sharing . The mod comes with a 1 mm o ring a 1.2 or 1.3 mm o ring would be perfect if your getting leaks with a 1 mm stock o ring

I crank mine down with the oring super tight and no issues. Super X video showed him cranking down his RM2 if it's good for him I think it's good for us lol

But please remember Super X had a much bigger (thicker O-ring)
I would not crank nearly that hard with the super thin one Rob supplies ..... I would say you could definitely do damage by over cranking with that small o-ring .... careful folks.

Rob posted about this a few days ago. While screwing down your RM2 hold the fire button down. You then hear when you have made contact because the atty will hiss. Then adjust it to where you want it. That should not over tighten it. IF its screwing real tight and you aren't getting contact thena thinner Oring is needed. I'm using an Oring from the 6 ml bottle. Stopped my leaks that I thought were from my Reo sweating! LOL.
