[h=1]Obama casually pops Nicorette during White House ceremony[/h]
President Obama casually inserted a piece of Nicorette gum into the First Mouth Monday afternoon.

Obama has a well-documented history of using gum control to stave off his smoking urges, but it’s rare to catch the president getting his nicotine fix in public.

Ever-conscious of the many cameras that capture his every move, Obama waited for just the right moment — during an event honoring former President George H.W. Bush — when it seemed likely that no network in the world would be focusing on the current president.

Somebody get this man an e-cig! :p

It's been done, on several occasions according to reports.

But if the president is shy about popping a piece of nicotine gum ("stealth chewing?"), imagine what his advisers will tell him about the political advisability of vaping in public!

Maybe he could just say that he Doesn't Inhale?

Oh Wait... That's been done Before. With So-So Results.

There was an interview (with Dave Letterman I think) with him prior to the 2008 election where he said "I think that's the idea." when asked about inhaling a certain substance in his youth.

I suppose we'll never see him whip out the Provari, yet for some strange reason, I believe when he's kicked back on the couch with a beer in the evening, tie loosened and a Blu Ray playing, it does happen ..

And he may keep a BLU in the shirt pocket just in case ..

I totally bet he does! He's probably rebuilding his atty right now ;)

Yet think of the immediate public health benefit if POTUS was seen just once puffing on an ecig! Call it "The Puff That Saved A Million Lives."

You plucked that idea right out of my head! That thought occurred to me just a while ago when I was driving home from the store. It would be VERY powerful if he were to support THR. Come to think of it, he already does via long-term use of NRT, but he has to stop being ashamed of it. The propaganda of the ANTZ worked way too well.

I think now that many of us have become aware of how we were brainwashed, we are feeling resentful for the shabby way we have been treated and maligned.

Think about it. One fifth of the American people use tobacco. So a full twenty percent of Americans are villified, taxed unconscionably, denied employment, and discriminated against in public, in their workplaces, and increasingly in private as well. If this twenty percent were being discriminated against for any reason other than tobacco use, you can bet your booties there'd be uprisings, lawsuits up the wazoo, outcries in the media, petitions, politicians who supported the discrimination would lose their jobs, and laws would be passed prohibiting any further discrimination. But because it's evil smoking, it's okay. It's legal. Must be nice for 80 percent of everybody to have smokers as their handy punching bag.

Question
If someone is trying to quit with nic gum ...
but still smokes a few cigarettes every day...
Does that mean the person is a "Dual User" ??

Yes. The ANTZ would claim that they now take in more nicotine than when they exclusively smoked and are becoming more addicted.

That theory doesn't explain, however, why so many dual users eventually go on to become exclusive users of a low risk alternative.
