I dunno... See point #2 above. lol.
Haha duuuude you're seriously grabbing for straws here.

It's broken English. For them to say "we have fixed this problem already, the cracked number will be less , but still exist" is them ADMITTING that they messed up. Hence "fixed the problem" and "the cracked number will be less"

I don't understand why you are so adamant in defending OBS on an obvious production flaw.

China cares about the environment all of a sudden? Nice.
Haha ya that's exactly the first thing I thought.

They are obviously rattled. Probably realize just how many they might have to recall, so trying to cover their butts.

I don't blame them. After all it has been a problem since the V1. I could just imagine how many of them that are out there that have the issue.

So Cal
Anyone tried adding an extra o-ring inside the base ?
No, but I've got to try something. This thing is leaking so badly it's ridiculous! It will be absolutely fine, then suddenly a spurt of hot liquid will come out of the AFC. And leaving it overnight, even with everything closed up, finds it in a leaky puddle in the morning. The flavor is outstanding, and I'm tempted to get another one, but I'm waiting to see if Cvapor will replace at least this base first.

I'm no expert but are there different grades/hardness of ceramic? Other manufacturers have used ceramic and had no issues. I just wonder if they chose a grade? That's too brittle. I have been thinking about trying to cover or coat where the insulator is visible so liquid can't enter it. Could we use jb jet weld or similar where the pin meets the deck just a thin coat to cover any gaps? Basically caulking the cracks. Maybe I think to much.

Since the insulator is ceramic and the 510 looks to be press fit they will, the majority of the time break the insulator. Why not move to a peek insulator?

I'm very curious about those FT clones. Can't order any until the new year personally but am anxious to hear the results.

I'm sure if someone gets theirs before me we will know, if not I will post some pictures.

If the clone is better and uses peak OBS will be forced to fix their poor quality or the clone will dominate.

On 2nd thought Dude; I don't see it the way you do, and I don't agree with your interpretation.

I'll go out on a limb... (knowing a lot is lost in the language translation). ...the OBS response to (WetVapes) query about this issue...

"1, this ceramic material is more evirenment than others , but it is friable.
2, the insulator is always to be cracked while producing , but it won't effect its works and will not leek.
3, we have fixed this problem already, the cracked number will be less , but still exist."

The problem they (OBS) are talking about is leaking... NOT a cracked insulator. They must know that a cracked insulator isn't desirable. They're saying the insulator becoming cracked is (often) incidental to production. They know having it that way isn't desirable. They say there'll be less of them made that way. They saying it's because of the production process that it's happening. They're saying it will still exist to some extent, but they've fixed the problem. - Leaking - they'll crack less insulators going forward but it'll still happen.

That's how I see it. The insulator on my tank is fine. I know a lot of folks here have been up in arms about the cracked ceramic (or whatever it is). I don't think that was the main issue that OBS was addressing. They were acknowledging WHY it is that way.

There are literally thousands of different ceramic formulas, it just sounds like a flaw in their production methods. If they are gonna press-fit the part, ceramic is not the material to choose. It will hold up to high heat, but force is a different matter.

I think JB Weld or similar would work, just caulking it and sealing it together.

Alright, I got my Crius yesterday, came a day early from FT. I check the insulator and had a small nick, actually looked like a imprint from a piece of thread on the edge of side of the ceramic, but not cracked. I checked the other side and had a small crack, it was small and didn't look like it went all the way through, but felt a little disheartened.

I just through the coils that were included with the tank, came out to 0.3ohm. As far as wicking, I watched all the videos and read everyone's advice and kinda used it all. I pulled what I thought at first would be too thick a piece through the coils, just went with it to see how it would work. I trimmed the edges to angle point, beveled the top a bit, clipped the edge corners a bit, it wasn't pretty so I fluffed it out. It definitely wasn't the prettiest wick I've ever seen, kinda looks like a drunk dog groomer got hold of a mangy poodle.....lol

I stuffed the the cotton ball poodle ends into the channel, went down about 3/4 to 1/2 way in the channel. I kept thinking, it was gonna be too much. I went ahead and primed and filled it anyway, figured it would be a good starting place anyway. Holy Fudge, it wicks like a champ! I've only run 4 tanks through it, but it's chucking along perfectly. No dry hits, no flooding, I was chain vaping it like a fiend, no problems. I finally had to stop filling the tank, I couldn't put it down, I was nic'ing myself out, just kept telling myself.....just one more puff. I'm gonna have to drop from 6mg to 3mg with this tank. I was using 80% VG 6mg at 42W, had the jfc and afc about 3/4 open, it had no problems keeping up and could go higher, but I really like where it's at right now, just a superb warm moist vape.

I started with Strawberry Milkshake, awesome then I switched to a Krunchberry juice and it blew me away. It was like vaping a warm Krunchberry Cobbler, gonna rename it to Krackberry. It's been a little less than 24 hours, but so far so good. The afc and jfc both have good tension, not loose at all, no "sweating", condensation or leaking.

First impression of the Crius, absolutely awesome! It's only been a day, so I hope it stays this way and doesn't start developing any issues.

I got a 2nd base from Wetvapes....has a small crack but I just didn't want to bother with returning it. Been vaping it for a couple days....dry as a bone. I don't know but a hairline shouldn't cause major leaking.

So when OBS says that "the insulator is always to be cracked while producing , but it won't effect its works and will not leek.", I tend to believe them. I mean right next to the insulator is a giant hole. Its not going to leak from the giant hole but its going to leak from a tiny hairline crack next to it? That doesn't make sense to me at all. There has to be something else causing the leaks people are experiencing.

Vapemail, that's kinda purdy. White full and a black velocity base from wetvapes. They look good no cracks. :rickroll::toast:
