Hi all, after 40 years of smoking (2 and half packs a day at the end) I am now on my 13 day without a cig. vaping an istick W40. I still don´t believe it.

So if I continue day by day and I am successful in 2 or 3 months with the FDA nothing will be available to buy in the stores except cigs?

Wonderful :grr:

Sorry, I think I put this in the wrong section.

Do you know the date this will go into effect?

I feel for you Dan.

Not sure where you live? But have you Contacted your Reps and Sen Ron Johnson and told them what you said in your 1st Post?

August 8th will be the Start of the New Regulations. It isn't going to be the End. But it is going to be the Beginning of the End.

@Dan40 - I understand your frustration and anger. I really feel bad for those who are new to vaping. It's even worse for those who haven't yet even gotten to experience what it's like to get off smokes by vaping instead.

My suggestions for you if you really want to continue vaping:

(1) Buy some 100mg/mL Nic base (at least 1L of it) and stash it in your freezer. Even if you don't want to learn how to make your own eliquids yet...you'll have the Nic base, which most likely will be the only ingredient in eliquids that'll be very difficult (if possible at all) to get before too long. The other ingredients are used in various products that don't have anything to do with vaping, so will be available anyway. There will always be people willing to help you learn how to make your own juice when you're ready. (You can read on the DIY forum about how to put away Nic base for longterm storage.)

(2) Start buying some extra coils for your tanks you regularly use. Might want a few extra tanks, too. Online vendors and local stores should still be selling them for the next 2 years. However, no one knows what the price of them will do during that time...as there's more and more demand for the ones still available to buy!

If you already rebuild your own coils...you shouldn't have a problem getting the wire and cotton you need for that, as again, it's also used for other things.

(3) Batteries for mods with replaceable ones, will still be available longterm, as they're used in other products, too. Mods with internal, non-replaceable batteries will just be "toast" when those give out, and more most likely won't be available. So that's something to think about, too (getting more mods that take replaceable batteries).

Don't give up on vaping...instead, just plan ahead for your vaping future, and you'll be fine!

Welcome and congratulations on your success! There's a ton of info to go thru but don't give up on not being able to get your supplies yet. As some have already said, get involved, write a letter to your Congressman now, join CASAA or SFATA. Don't give up and don't pick up a cig!

    Don't panic!

first of all DIY will still be possible, the three main ingredients have been passed by your FDA and very soon your local vape shop will be selling FDA approved base mixes and expanding into "scented candle oils". Big tobacco already sell their own vape products and will be prepared to pay the money to have them passed by the FDA but given that this is their fault in the first place I would boycott those.

Secondly these laws cover selling and buying in America, not import. UK actually has it mentioned in law that export of E products is perfectly legal. China where all the hardware is made won't care anyway.

The people this will hurt are small companies making juice, and vape shops.

Yes. It's really stupid. Your new laws cover selling to people within the US, not manufacture or export. US flavour and Juice makers can export directly to the UK's 4.5 million vapours (45% of all smokers here) or sell in bulk to our websites/B&M no problem at all. US buyers can buy US made flavours and juice from a UK seller and import them, and it's fine because the money isn't going to a US company.

Totally feel your frustration. I'm in this for a bit over 6 months and still feel the pressure to keep my vaping experience the same any way I can. Hang in with us as we help one another prepare. Ask any questions you need. We are all here for each other. I myself wasn't planning on learning half the things I am now doing, but felt pressured into it by the FDA deeming.

    Dan,

Don't fall for all this sky is falling BS. It's made by people who have no clue how the government process or legal court challenges work. Also keep in mind that the YouTube Vape "celebs" who want you all foaming at the mouth over this Have A Monetary Vested Interest In You Being Just That Way.

This is all but decided Dan. They will change the predicate date to now which will cover all the current devices and juices. There will need to be some tweaking done for new products introduced after 8/8.

There may be some difficulties with Individual States and taxing or mail order but those Aren't the same as the FDA KILLING vaping.

You're going to be able to order everything next year and the year after that you can today.

Don't be a sheeple Don. It'll all going to work out fine. If you REALLY want to play it safe, the one thing you could do to help is to vote Non-Democrat as they are Solidly in the tank Against vaping.

If you want some REAL facts about where this is going, search for my posts on this.

That's not to say the OP should not try DIY. Juice companies use the exact same ingredients that we do and then take the mick with the prices. You can follow someone else's recipes if you are a beginner just like if you are making a cake. You can tweak it if you like, or you could try creating your own. All three approaches are totally cool and will give the same, if not better, results than premium juices for a fraction of the cost.

    No. That Is Not correct.

It is any Tobacco Products that are being "Sold" in the USA regardless of Place of Origin.

@OcalaFlGuy - If I'm reading what you wrote above correctly...you're saying that all of us who are preparing for what's ahead (not being able to get the things we use for vaping) are full of BS, and we're supposed to believe what you say will take place instead?

Do you have documentation for the certainty of your claims?
