I am even more optimistic on the Court cases.

Halo's is a shoe in, no brainer win.

Remember it's a Judge trial, not a jury trial.

The FDA's Own Number for EACH PMTA (device or Flavor approval) is $330K to over a mil.
In the 6 YEARS there has Been the PMTAs, they have approved One "device", a Swedish snu.

IF there Were any FDA official so delusional or a big enough liar to swear under oath that that would Not kill the industry they would have a Judge laughing in his face.

The FDA has completely Blown Off the House Committees request for backup information to Deeming. Didn't send anything or say Kiss our... To me the most logical, simpliest reason for that is They know their position is Indefensible. Courts run by rule of law. A Judge, ANY Judge is going to be Very Unhappy with someone who blows off a Congressional request for information that wound up with the case being in his court when it really shouldn't be.

Day 15 no cig.

Well, whatever the government does it probably won´t be good. I can always go back to smoking in the future but definitely not today. :thumb:

It was a little hard yesterday.
Your doing good, don't give up yet. Anything can happen between now and August I guess. Won't hurt to stock up a little as you can afford. The way I look at it is it will be used anyways. :)

@Dan40 - You're doing great! I couldn't go cold turkey myself and dive right in to vaping only. I had to taper off slowly on the smokes and substitute vaping for the ones I didn't smoke each day. Took me from Nov. 14, 2013 - Jan. 14, 2014, but it worked! Haven't had a smoke since then and have never wanted one!

Since you said yesterday was a particularly hard day...maybe you could try what many others have said worked for them on those days. Have another tank handy...that has a higher nic liquid in it. When those really bad cravings hit you...vape from that tank for a few minutes. Then put it away, and use your regular one again. Might help you, too!

Now that you've made it this far...I hope going back to smoking isn't an option for you now. No matter what the government does...if you'll buy some Nic base and store it properly, you won't need to go back to smoking! (Info on how to store it is all over the DIY forum.) There are also many many people on the ECF (including me) who will gladly help you learn how to DIY as far as your eliquids go.

I hope @OcalaFlGuy is on the right track, and I guess we'll have to wait and see (not just wait, keep fighting but you know what I mean).

On the other hand, to those saying FDA will not be able to regulate stuff made over seas... They added something there that says if you import and re-sell you are a "manufacturer" and must comply. So basically stuff from China will make it in (I guess) but you won't be able to re sell it if it's non compliant, that will kick B&Ms in the .....

I'm working in my own country so if worse comes to worse and we win here, you'll be able to come down south to get your stuff ;)

I guess as many have mentioned in some form or another. Be on the safe side stock up a few mods that take external batteries (these days stuff is so cheap why not?). Look into DIY which I have done and maybe stock a bottle or two of heavy duty nic.

I myself joined up in writing congress etc. But just incase I have a couple of external battery mods and learned some DIY just incase to make my own no nic juice (currently using 3/ 1.5 so by the time this hits if it does i'll just drop nic myself all together).

It is not that going back to smoking is an option or not, it is just that I am taking this one day at a time. I never officially quite. This is sort of an experiment for me. I am on day 17 without a cig. That hasn´t happened in 40 years. :)

Over the weekend I few bad experiences. A nonsmoker told me that vaping was the same as smoking. Later I spoke to a friend who is a med student who told me that vaping "could be just as bad as smoking, we just don´t know yet. Anything that inflames the lungs in not good." For me (I am using 18mg nic) I have been controlling the physical urges to smoke most of the time without to much trouble, it is the mental aspect of all this.

I have been keeping track of how much I have saved up to this point from not smoking and the money I have spent on vaping. After the istick tc40w, 3 Kanger tec batteries, 3 cartomizers, juice, coils etc. I am at brake even now after 17 days (I was smoking 2 1/2 packs a day). I want to stock up on some things but it is hard to justify spending the money when I don´t know if I will stick with this. I probably will.

Any help with the mental aspect of all of this would be appreciated. Thanks

You're doing just like most of us have done and I think you're ahead of the learning curve. I didn't buy something like your using, a sub-ohm tank, for a while. It took me about a year and a half before upgraded to that.

You have to give yourself a break and don't doubt the process but ask yourself how you feel in the mornings when you get up and your not hacking up a lung. You know food is tasting better about now and your nit smelling like an ashtray anymore. This little things are little victories that you won/win everyday! 17 days is great man. One more thing, vaping doesn't have the tars, carcinogens and all the other crap they put in cigs. More will be revealed Dan, trust that today, so far, you haven't smoked!!

    Dan:

I understand where you are coming from. I started vaping when the FDA was trying to regulate e-cigs as a drug. Shipments were being seized, etc. I smoked for 30+ years. I wasn't sure at that point if vaping would continue to be available, but I stuck with it anyhow. And here i am, more than 5 years later, still cigarette free.

My advice for you is to spend lots of time on this forum. As far as stocking up, it's really tough to do that when you are just starting out, since it takes a while to decide what it is that you really want. Hopefully, you have some time yet. If you are determined to stay off the cigs, all kinds of support and knowledge are right here.

As far as the non-smokers and that medical student, my advice is to research for yourself and draw your own conclusions. I will put money on it that those other people have not done this themselves.

A great place to start is here:

CASAA - The Consumer Advocates for Smoke-free Alternatives Association

The section on fact and science is a must read!
