This may come across as a wall of text, but felt a need to share my experience with the hh.357. A little background and back story first.

Ok, so I used ECF to a shame back when I started, got my gear going, got comfortable with my vape and life took over and I wasn't around ECF for a long time. Back when I was digging up all the info I could take and gear I wanted to try, the hh.357 entered my queue of must get items. However, with 20 bridgeless atties and 50 boge cartos to start myself with, figured I'd revisit the idea when it was time to get more disposables. Didn't expect that 9 months later, I'd still have quite a bit of that stock and I didn't even clean my cartos or atties in any way -- just use and toss.

Over that time, I forgot about the hh.357 and using a carto in a tank was my preferred method -- mostly due to being a dripping newb and the quality of the atties I had. With my daily vapes, I could get on avg 3 to 4 weeks out of one carto. I'd play with an atty from time to time, but with the grab and vape no nonsense setup I had going, vaping became a routine, no longer an focused obsession.

Side note: I tend to have a different focused obsession every two weeks or so, and the stuff I got into after vaping is too long to list.

Then my supplier of my daily vape seemed to just drop off the face of the planet back in August. I didn't get my order, nor was I charged; but I waited for them to resolve their issues, and waited, and waited, and ran out of all my great juices.

Yup, I had no backup vendor for juice and it was supposed to be resolved within a month.

Rather than order elsewhere as I didn't know who to try next, I started to revisit my reserve -- flavors I didn't like so much, you know, the oh crap I'm glad I saved that juice so I have something to hold me over supply. :p

I never mix flavors in a carto, and so out came the atties. I dripped and dripped and dripped and got good at it. The atties I had were working much better as a result, and I just went nuts. I found some juices I could vape in my reserve and dripped it all away as of a week ago.

Now I had to find a new vendor for juice, which brought me back to vaping research obsession. Found two vendors this time, got me some new juice, and wound up running back into the hh.357.

Placed an order on Thursday, got two 3.0 ohm 510 LBs on Saturday. Mad shipping turnaround avidvaper!

So, how did it go and why this post... (Oh why did I wait so long that I actually forgot about you hh.357? If I had only I had been wiser!)

Let me say that when I first got it I was a dripping newb all over again, at least for a hour. Second hour I started to get a feel for the atty, but wasn't getting much vapor, flavor was fantastic though. I was still experimenting with fill levels and draw speeds -- boy was I experimenting to the point of feeling like I had a new job.

While chain vaping again for the first time in a long time, and reading all hh.357 threads I could find, I finally put something together in my head. I had been vaping at 4.5v on my 3.0 ohm cartos as anything higher than 4.8 tasted burnt, and I had made the assumption that 4.5v would be where I wanted the hh.357. I couldn't use my past atty experience much as they were 1.8 ohms and I vaped those pretty much at 3.7 give or take a few points.

Well, to bring this already too long post to a close, I bumped my voltage to 4.8, then 5.0, then 5.2. One of the hh.357s broke in at that moment and I about fell off my couch -- both from the TH, lung hit, and the glee! Guess I was running the coil too cold.

You know that moment when you got your first proper mod, took a vape, and went oh hell yeah! I got to relive that moment all over again. :)

Well done guys. I feel like a new vaping convert all over again. I have since bumped up to 5.8 and tried 6v. I never thought I'd vape at such high voltages, but this thing rocks with no burn taste at all (unless it's that one hit past drip time and even now I use the draw feel and/or hiss warning indicators to avoid that).

Going to have to lower my nic again. This not only delivers the vape/nic better, but I'm chain vaping again. Already ran about 12ml through one, and 8 through the other. I've only had to clean one out with cheap vodka a few hrs ago, and that was primarily because I accidently held the button down for a second without a draw (held wrong while trying to uncap my bottle), and the next 15 hits tasted off and so I did it as a preventative measure. Worked like a charm.

From what I've read here, I'm blowing out my juice at least twice a day on the one that I only use one flavor on to flush buildup, and that seems to be working great. The other gets blown out every time I switch juices.

Well that's my story so far. Glad to have join the ranks of hh.357 users and thanks if you read through all this and hope it brough back some memories of your own.

Can't believe its only been a year and change since HH 357 hit the ecf forum... the atomizer has definitely become an icon in vape world.
I've been straying with RBA's and a couple hybrid mass produced atomizers very similar in design including Cisco's Aero... great atomizer btw.
but... just got back to my HH357 901 stash, and with my juice stash "flush" with latest Pluid batch secure, I am STOKED again. Nothing is as reliably awesome as the HH357 and your favorite juice!

It took me a few years to get to where I can drip with confidence, on most attys, and it took me a while to figure out all ins and outs of the HH357 too.

RBA's are awesome, but take a lot of skill imo... sometimes I just don't have time for all that, and for me, HH357 stash is instant gratificaction!

:evil:HAPPY NEW YEAR HH357 VAPE FREAKS... .that's me too.

I'm huffing MMRP (Pluid) on my red HH357 901 2.0 Ohm 901 for about 2 weeks now... without a hitch, at 7.5w on my Zmax.
Not one leak even with 5 drops in there.
Unreal.
I've got rba's that actually give me a PIA, mostly silica wicks, but also have a Geni in the works.... I always have to put those aside and go to the 357's when i'm tired of fiddling...
HH357, for me = INSTANT GRATIFICATION...

Thanks Hanna

I have been complaining (about 4 months ago) about inconsistency and since then have learned a bit more about varying voltages on my HH357's and now i have it down pat.
Basically it was too much juice and fiddling with voltage up and down... and I was also complaining about killing mine off too soon ( a week to 2 weeks avg).

Hanna sent me some with more filler and they worked better in a way, but the draw was tighter...
I think the V2 which is what we are getting now is hard to beat, and although i still "see red" (coil) when I'm low on juice, this 2.0 red 901 is hanging in there like a champ...3 weeks... but I'm also using VW... at 7 to 8w.

I also use Hybrid atomizers like the Aero, especially for bottom feeding... but the HH357 is still King, and i'll call it a "specialty atomizer" that gives you all you want in vaping when nothing less will do.

I think VW devices are the best to use with these, due to the carbonization that causes resistance drop. Using lightly flavored low VG juice will also help prolong it as will blowing them out every night. I soak and scrape off the carbon with a sharp syringe needle and repeat until clean, and if you do it gently, they'll be almost good as new. The method of cleaning in the listing for the atty itself is not going to do anything at all to remove the carbon build-up. Alcohol soak helps, but dilute phosporic acid works better, although it will remove any paint job. Then you can scrape it off and repeat the process until you can see it's clean under a magnification loupe. You will also see why these are vapor monsters, as the coil is not a thin wire like most, it is more like a compressed spring in the white cup. At least that's what it looks like under magnification when clean, when dirty, the entire coil will be black and sometimes not even visible under the carbon, more like a black brick of coal inside the cup! So they're great, but very high maintenance. When they're clean though, the flavor and vapor is fantastic and they go through the juice fast and you will find out quick which of your juices have the most stuff in it that doesn't vaporize. Even lighter color juices. The stronger your flavoring, the more carbon you're likely to get. With this atty you can get by with less flavoring anyway, due to the volume of vapor.

I have a HH357 coming in a couple days and was wondering if it will be the new ceramic wick design you were talking about a few pages back, post #347? Post was from October 2012.
If not, do you know when these will be available, or are they scrapped? Just curious.

Thanks for all your contributions and making a great atty!

I don't even know if anyone is reading this thread anymore, but here goes anyways.

I received my 510 HH357 long barrel 2.0ohm a full 48 hours ago now.
Mine did not come with or in the nice round tin case that everyone was reporting before. Instead it was just in a tiny ziploc baggie. I don't know if this is just because it is the long barrel version, or they stopped using the tins all together. Either way I wasn't happy with that aspect, because it seemed like that was how everyone was reporting theirs being packed.

On to performance. Mine seems to have a very airy draw to it. I couldn't do any longer than a 1 or 2 second draw at all because of this, which I understand is all that should be needed anyways. Vapor- it does not seem to be producing much vapor at all, in fact I also ordered a standard 510 cisco spec 2.0 atomizer along with my hh and the standard is producing much more vapor.
Taste- I am not liking the taste so far with the 357 at all. It is giving me a very metallic taste every time I use it, regardless of amount of liquid in it.
I have followed every part of the instructions on the avid vaper website and in the videos Hanna posted. I have tried a little more and a little less drops and neither made any difference at all. Also of noting there were no instructions included at all with my 357, although I had already read them on the site.

I am hoping all this is just because of the break in period, and I will keep enduring through this bad taste for another week or so.

I never heard anything about a metal tin box and i've been haunting the hh357 threads for about a year at least... yeah pretty dormant thread... seems to be a well known but sort of underground thing.

as far as your impressions of it... best to include a PM or email to Hanna for assistance; he stands behind his product.

IMO this atty is not for everyone; at least not all the time... i've been vaping and mostly dripping for over 3 years, and it took me some time with the hh357's to figure it out. There we times I had trouble and times when it all just clicked.
I think its an unconscious adaptive thing.

Taste should improve with normal carbonization of the coil, but if its scorched, it may be hard to undo.
As far as vapor production, its the voltage/watts optimal to the resistance, and the amount of juice

This is the tin I am talking about, it was mentioned quite a few times before the thread was moved to part 2. Sorry I can't find any of the exact posts, but this is the picture posted quite a few times as being the official packaging. It seems I am not the only one that missed out on it, so not really a big deal.

I have the technique down pat on how to best optimize the 357, but like I said it still isn't even performing even close to the standard cisco spec 2.0 closed post 510. The draw is even airier on the 357, which I have read it should be the opposite. I do know that you have to use a faster pull than than normal atties, and I have done much experimentation with changing up my draw speeds. I always do a cold pull first to make sure I hear the gurgle, my coil has absolutely no carbonization, and my wick isn't burnt. I just get that distinct metal taste all the time despite having run about 4ml through it so far, and cleaned it twice to make sure that wasn't the issue.

Like I said I am not giving up on it yet, and I have PMed Hanna. I will hold off a few more days to give him a chance to respond before I send him or avid vaper an email.

I am not angry at all, I am just a little disappointed that it is performing worse that one of their other atties that is half the price.
