I got my HH.357 yesterday and I'm really liking it so far. I've read about the air draw issues some people are having. I personally love the draw. I notice that it is considerably looser then the other 510 attys I have use, which is a good thing for me. I hate having to take a pull like I'm drink a milkshake through a straw. I don't know about the break-in period, b/c I only have it for a day and it preforming perfect. If it gets better in a couple of weeks, I don't think I'll ever own any other 510 atty ever again. I'm using it on my XL Vmod so I haven't had an issue with dry hits or any anything else. Like I said before if it not only preforms better than other 510 attys, but also has a longer life, I will only own HH. 357 attys in the future.

I'm curious which HH.357 (long or short, what resistance ?) did you put on your VMod XL ? What battery are you using ?

It looks like I'm one of those folks that can kill an atty within a few weeks due to carbon build up. It's sad, cause I would blow them out and clean them every two to three days, but I still end up with a gunned up coil. I'm vaping mostly RY4 type juices, mostly vg, but nothing that seems out of the ordinary. Short of doing a full cleaning after every vaping session, how do you think I can get these to last longer?

You are not the only one my friend, any non clear juices seem to clog the coils on these atties as I have already lost 3. Sadly there is nothing you can do to avoid this except by switching to clear juices which we all know will suck. The one and only thing that I haven't tried yet is oven cleaner but the thought of vaping lye isn't appealing.

Yeah, I remember that post. I've sent two attys to Hanna recently. The first for a very hard draw rite outta the box. Hanna took care of me there and sent me a new one at no charge. I've not even had a chance to use it yet since I am away from home for a while, but I know from his description that I'm going to love it.

Completely unrelated to the first story, I had another that died after three weeks of use. Emailed Hanna and he asked me to mail it to him, which I did. He later emailed me saying that he could not replace it because the issue was carbon build up. I received no offer to fix it for $10, but to be honest I don't think I would have taken the offer if it had been given. I do love the 357. I've not found another atty that hits on all levels like this one does, but if the issue is with the juice I use I need to think about what will be best for me in the long run.

On that note, I would love to hear from folks that have had success and longevity with the 357. Specifically what juice, voltage, ohm, and cleaning/maintenance they are using. I'm willing to give this another shot because I like the atty so much, just want to do it in a way that might better my odds of success.

Well, my two HH 357 attys are both still working, but are both measuring close to 1.0 to 1.2 ohms. I can tell it in the vape, too. That's just too hot for me with unregulated IMR batteries on my bottom feeder. I'm not complaining, though. I've been using these two attys for months and months and have fogged up my house with them.

I would have already ordered replacements, but I heard a rumor about an atty tank and I thought I could save a few bucks in shipping by waiting.

This has been a big issue for me as well. I have discussed it with Hannah and he did a couple of custom ones that helped a bit. I have a bunch of these and here are my solutions.

These are NOT recommended by Hannah, just what I have found helps.

1) Dry burn
2) Dry burn and when the coil is still a little hot take a wooden skewer and lightly scrape it across the coils to remove the gunk.
3) soak in vinegar. Take out and do the same thing with the skewer
4) I have a organic coffee pot cleaner that you can soak them in. It contains all natural ingredients. It does make me nervous, but they are used in all coffee pots that we then turn around and drink out of. I have asked about it online and cannot get a definitive answer about safety. It does work well however.

When using the skewer, be VERY careful. lightly scrape. Dry burn, and immediately run it across. It works well.

I have not had them die from the thick juice the coil, but it can effect the taste. I have had this issue with waffle juices mostly.

Great success with Malty Toffee. I've been running it at 1.5ohm (3.7V). I would've used a higher ohm, but this is all I've had. Coil still looks great!

I´ll add my old post

I use 100%VG, nothing else.

What I´ve experienced is that, if I blow it(normal901) dry once or twice a day, I don´t have to soak them as often at all. I used to do it daily, now I do it weekly and that is just to be sure. The weekly routine is blowing/soaking/ultrasonic/blowing/7drops of VG and we´re back in business, better than new.

The Finnish special is a different beast as Hanna has optimized it for VG. It holds 8 drops of juice and I don´t have to blow it daily. I´ve not tried how long I could go without blowing it dry but I can go three days without problems and then I will do it just to be sure. Actually I´m taking a very good care of it as it´s the only one but I now it can go the distance.

As a rough generalization I use the 1.5 ohm 901 at 3.4-3.6V with faint fruit flavors, up to 3.8-3.9V with other fruits, desserts at 4.2V and some Mint/Spearmint/Menthol/Tobac flavors I´ll go higher.

FinnishSpecial I use between 4.7-6.1V.

My 100% DIY juices are thick atty killers and main thing why I´ve been able to use the same attys for months now is that I blow them dry often. I don't need to dry burn them but if I could not keep them un gunked otherwise, I would not hesitate to dry burn them but I would use it as a last resort.

My normal weekly routine posted above is thorough. Before I started to blow my atties more often I would infrequently use soaking in vinegar with some baking soda/vinegar wash after, this has taken care of the most radical gunks. The atty actually shines afterwards, the same happens after ultrasonic.

I actually did just now for the sake of experiment and recollection the following to a 901 that has been in almost daily use for 2-3 months now:

  • Blew it dry
  • A baking soda/vinegar wash
  • 15 min in ultrasonic
  • Blew it dry
  • 12 drops of VG

These Magnums just keep getting better, the air flow is better than in a new one, loser and easier and it holds more 100%VG juice, I can trip 4-5 drops as normally its 2-3. Now after the maintenance I can use it at a little bit lower voltage and get the great flavor of 901 and still the vapor is better than before maintenance at higher voltage.

I my self just keep learning about these great attys all the time.
