No reason for any flack.
It doesn't surprise me that these are re-branded. As I understand it, and anyone can correct me if I'm wrong, but there are only 2 or 3 actual battery mfgr's. Panasonic, Sanyo, and maybe 1 more. AW, TF, UF, Efest, ect., are all re-brands. The difference is, the re-branders, if they have enough clout, buy their batts from these mfgr's, and they buy the batts that meet their particular specifications. AW has always had good batts because AW pays more for the better batts. Efest is apparently doing the same thing, buying the better batts. Batts that don't spec out as high, are bought cheaper by, well, you know... So this is my take on it anyway.

Interesting. I never knew about the seedy underbelly of battery manufacturing (and re-branding)... Makes sense, though.

quick question. The Vmax on your site. What revision is the SS with ego connection and blue LED? Rev3?
there is no rev3....... only rev1 and 2.....just the SS was of a different design as the black, silver, chrome and gun metal all rev2, guess you could call it rev 3 since has a blue led and ego style top. btw zmax will be here in bout 10 days. in chrome and SS. EACH WITH EGO STYLE TOPS.

Andrew... please, please, PUHLEESE.... tell Smok to make the zmax end caps FLAT. Imo, this is a major design flaw that needs fixing.

I love my vmax, but rounded end caps would keep me from buying a zmax altogether. Ive talked a little bit about why in the vmax thread here on ecf and although Im sure most will still buy a zmax either way... they agree on this one design issue.

The unit needs to be able to stand upright without wobbling so much that it falls over easily and gets damaged.

Yes, simple solution is lay it on its side, but over time that damages the finish. Get a caddy, sure... but I dont have a caddy or holster with me at all times everywhere I go. Even a lil ego batt can stand up straight. The vmax/zmax should too.

So I am planning on buying some batteries so I have them ready and charged for when the Zmax comes out(yeah I need other stuff too, so just figured it made sense to just get batteries now with this order.) I plan on getting a couple sets of 18350s to try stacked in it. Would I be better off getting the nipple top or flat top? They will only be used in the Zmax, and if I decide to get a Vmax, but I have a feeling the Zmax will be my last VV for awhile. Umm or until the next latest greatest device comes out. Lol. Next I plan to start messing with rebuildable tanks/attys....umm hint hint, nudge, nudge!!!

When I got my Vmax, I ordered an extra set of batteries. I have a set of nipple tops and flat tops. Andrew advised me to use the flat top first and then the nipple behind it. YMMV

I've got 2 sets of efest batt's...( 1-set flat, 1-set nipple top ) and I've been using ( since the beginning ) 1 of each in my vmax with the nipple-top underneath the flat-top...when my vmax flashes "lo"'and I put the batteries on charger , the flat-top shows up an orange color on the charge indicator while the nipple top is bright red, and the flat-top finishes charging 15? Mins or so before the nipple-top...is it normal for 1 battery to drain more than another is a "stacked" scenario ?

so you matched a nipple to a flat? seems to make a lot of sense to do it that way! I actually was thinking about that and have a set of each in my cart right now. It was going to be the next question I asked, lol.

And from my knowledge of running multiple lipo battery packs in RC cars that is the case I ran into. 1 is always less than the other when the low voltage kicks in. Because it is always pulling more from the first in the series. Now this don't seem to make sense in this case being that the 2nd is the one getting more drawn out of it. So either something weird is happening, or the bottom is the first in the series or and more likely to be the case I just am wrong. LOL All this battery stuff with e-cig devices is very new to me. Hopefully someone way more knowledgeable comes in here and helps.

Nipple tops are the way to go. The nipple/flat combo works, but is not advised due to the fact you stated. I rotate their position with each charge. The flat tops require a magnet, and that is just another thing to possibly lose or to cause a problem. I have never had any issues, and my flat tops are in rotation, but I wouldn't order flat tops as additional batteries myself.
