One of my meetings I was having was over the phone with my optician buddy so I can get measured for a new set of progressive lenses for the new frames I have coming in tomorrow. It's been five years since I got my last pair made and about the first of this year, the coatings on them have started getting hazy ( crazing )... so it's well past time not to mention that I've been in need of a new script for a while.
The meeting was mostly about the bajillion different makes/models/styles of progressive lenses there are and what benefits each have and which would best suit my own needs. I've got a very high correction and astigmatism making it even harder to get a good correction in a progressive lens. I didn't go with the latest technology lens but the previous one that Hoya made ( named ID Lifestyle FWIW ) and their best anti reflective and scratch resistance coatings they make ( the EX3 ). The lens will have a wider sharp field of vision in the far, medium and near areas than my current lens has and the coatings are suppose to be more resistant to scratches than a glass lens would have not to mention stay cleaner longer from smudging.
I can't wait for the new lenses to get in but that will likely be a couple of weeks out since my buddy and myself will first have to each find time for a meeting for measuring me up. Then it should be about a week later or so that they will come in.
