Norman, Ok
yes, I am worried about you there !

Agreed ...

With tornadoes... they are small enough in area that a quick exit isn't out of the question... a hurricane is so huge, it'd not be quite so simple.

Moonie... do you have a plan... something like if it's a certain strength you are going somewhere else ( than the hotel etc )?... If so, do you have somewhere to actually go to?

it's pretty much the house or the hotel, other than that just head west

i've been eyed by two hurricanes in florida (plus a few others that weren't direct hits), and rode out Sandy in East Rutherford NJ.
I think the universe has given Me enough hurricane experience, so i'm kinda thinking/hoping this one will track far enough about at sea so i don't have to go thru it again

I'll certainly keep my hopes up for the same...

I've been in enough storms and a few tornado's that I know what your are talking about to some extent. Now, I prefer to keep my distance but still be close enough for a pic... which can't be had if you are under the storm.

Experience is always good, just keep in mind that Matthew looks to be tracking further west than originally. Stay safe!

Good Lord, please be safe you guys. Classy, AG and Moons.
Moonie, you look like right in the forefront. I'm definitely saying a prayer for you guys. Are you under an evacuation? Especially for tomorrow night and Friday?
Please stay safe, you're in ALL our thoughts here guys...
Alot of people are evacuating along the coast line J. On the news there's plenty of backed up traffic. Longggggggggg lines at gas stations , empty store shelves , etc. I'm not beach front but will get the rains and wind. Dey habes a flood warning out fer me until the end of friday.

might even find one cool stuff that blew into my yard

Yeah... or worse... hopefully their concerns are not founded...

The NWS's main concern is that the center will track over the eastern counties... of course it's their job to be pessimistic in these types of situations in order that they can be prepared for anything, or as prepared as can be expected. In the worst case scenerio's ... they are worried that certain areas could become uninhabitable for weeks or months... but current forecast tracks still have the center out to sea a little but they never completely trust those...
