Soooo....I'm in the middle of the new bio of Jann Wenner (who I'm NOT particularly fond of, but that's a story for another discussion
). At one point in the book the author mentions an album that Wenner "produced" (and THAT'S another discussion) by Boz Scaggs. And one particular track. Wow, this used to be one of my all time favorites (and is again) but I had completely forgotten about it

Anyway, Boz had gotten Duane Allman to play slide guitar on this, and that fact alone makes it noteworthy, but.....the song itself is just so beautiful, sorrowful, lonely, heart-wrenching and downright sad, that it's really just incredible. Plus this video has GREAT pics of all the session players, and Duane. I know it's a bit long, about 13 mins, BUT, well worth the time invested. The ending is awesome.
