Missed out on a good chance at getting some lightning shots tonight/morning...

After laying down and then not getting to sleep for over an hour... I got up to do something boring so my mind would stop running around. Around 2am, I finally noticed there was some thunder happening again. Opened up my radar program and saw a line of storms to my west. So I grabbed a shirt and shorts and stepped outside only to see some great lightning to the west, perhaps around 20-25 miles out. Grabbed my gear and headed to the closest place I have without obstructions which only took about 20 minutes to get too... and the rain starts in but worse than that, by this time the lightning was right on top of me. I did get to watch a lot of really close strikes as I was driving back home. Needless to say, I didn't get the camera out ... again.

Now I guess I've got to play more solitaire or else I won't get to sleep before sunrise

Finally made it home after I got pops home and chatted w/mom for awhile (she didn't wait up, she's typically up until 2 or so anyway lol). I didn't see the Aggie's Jackpot, so I didn't win big moneys. I didn't come home with all I left with, but didn't come home empty-handed either, so that's something I guess.

Was at Brookfield zoo yesterday and saw some very small cute different types of monkeys.
Was nice to see a bunch of different animals.
