Looking at weather model forecasts for stuff that is about 10 days out ( ie for the solar eclipse ) is only slightly more reliable than using a Magic 8 ball

Yesterday... St Clair MO was looking better.... today Grand Island NE is... so it's still a toss up which may have clear weather or not... Of course I can also choose anywhere in between or slightly to the side of those areas as well... they are simply right on the highways coming from here.

I've been just about as indecisive as to whether or not I'm even going. From what I've heard, all hotel/motels are booked solid. They are saying that the restaurants and anywhere with bathrooms are going to have lines. In addition to all of that... the roadways are likely to be gridlocked from the influx of traffic into those areas. Since boarding was unlikely ( and I couldn't have afforded to book it if I'd wanted too )... My plan if I go is to leave early Monday morning ( 12-3am ) after seeing what the weather is going to look like. If I leave by at least 3am, I'd have several hours to scout locations to setup my camera for the duration of the event.

If I choose to not go... They show we'll have a 83-85% eclipse here and even if totality is the end all do all.. a partial eclipse would be nice also.
