Well I did it, broke down and bought a new a confuser. After 7 years of life, work, play, MoonLit frivolities and being dragged around the country it has become evident that My old MacBook was just too old & tired. Yes RDS I'll admit even Macs run there course of being un-aggravating, and mine has done so.

I ended up going with what I originally had a MacBook Pro 13" (without the touch bar).

Less than a day in to it, I really like it.

It has Thunder Bolt 3 USB-C instead of the once? standard USB ports so that means new cables, or adaptors, so that is what it is.

And with My Apple ID and iCloud usages the set up this thing was insanely easy (bookmarks, passwords, documents folders & such)

You may want to look into getting an external hub that can provide the older standard USB ports along with other ports, say a displayport for an external monitor... and/or an ethernet port for wired connectivity ( still more stable and secure than wifi ). When on the move.. you probably won't need the additional components but when you get back to the house you can just make the one connection and be up and going in no time instead of having to plug in multiple cables.

They mentioned that or something similar while I was in the store. But I'm not so sure I'll have the need. I did however get an adaptor to as well as a USB-C to Lightening cable, The later of which I can use to connect My iPod I iPhone to the computer. So with that and the adopter just in case there is something I'll be hooking that I don't know about now, I think I'm covered

My new notebook has a 14" screen and while mobile it's fine... but my ( old ) eye's are thankful when I connect it to my 23" screen at work. :D

Of course, my notebook has a mini-hdmi port... so I didn't need an adapter. Down side is I've only got a few USB 3 ports... of the conventional size/type A. I wished it had a USB 3.1 type C so it could have used it for a power source also instead of the mini banana plug it uses.

If I were using it for work, then yeah baby slap a big ole' giant screen on Me!

I was Looking at the 15 inchers, and even with that large a screen the machine itself wasn't as big as I thought it would be, not much border around the screen, and pretty thin. Especially when compared to one I replaced.
My eyes aint what they used to be either. But the 13 & reading glasses works fine for me, and comparing the prices and sizes I went with this one. Sure the larger screen would be nice, but the smaller machine seemed to win me over.

Yeah there are only two ports here, but I have never needed more than that any way. When ever I connect my Ipod or phone I always have the computer hooked up to power so there is the only time I'd use two. Actually as of now thats all I'm using them for at all. But who knows what lies ahead.
