Whats happening to this world?! I'm speechless right now. So sad! Nobody is safe anymore, its just sick. Who goes in to an elementary school and goes on a shooting rampage?! Wow. Praying for the families!!!

The schools need to have steel doors with bulletproof glass with cameras at every entry point with multiple people watching them. Then at the first sign of something even looking wrong. The camera crew hit a panic button and it will shut every door and all the right authorities are immediately contacted. Its a law that our children go to school, they need the most protection when they are not with the parents/parent.There is no way of stopping these senseless acts of cowardliness. As the powers to be will not spend the money needed to protect our children when they are at school. One child lost is one too many. The craziness of this world will never stop.

They should have foyers in the entries (many do) - build like a guard-type enclosure - with bullet-proof glass. Obviously during opening and closing of schools - the entries have to be unimpeded; however, at all other times - you would enter the foyer - state who you are and why you are there - the ID checked - possible computer terminal in there to match ID with name of child, etc. It's not as hard as it sounds - there's not that much traffic going into the schools except opening and closing.

My granddaughter had a pre-school - where you presented yourself, your ID and who you were there for......if my daughter didn't advise them I was picking her up that day - it was a no go even though I was authorized and was the emergency contact. This stops non-custodial parents from picking up children without the other parent's knowledge and stops parents who are barred from their children having access. At this facility at no time did I have contact with the children while I was checked out - they needed to buzz me through those steel doors - it didn't take long either.

Pretty sad it has come to that.

I used to live right near there where that school is at. This very much saddens me. I feel that Principal was a Hero in the fact she keyed that microphone for the whole school to hear the gunman over the PA and give what chance she could to let those teachers know what was about to happen and at least try to keep those children as safe as they could in the small amount of time they had.

God Bless ♥

I don't think Eric is all that close....

I am 20 miles away :(
we know some people there, no news yet on their status. we have picked up our boys after the lock down was over and hugging them tightly.

this is heart wrenching to an extreme.
I will not be on for a while, if there are any questions someone please follow up for me.
