I'm here. I'm not having a very good day so far. I got a car on Saturday, a 2007 Subaru Impreza 2.5i hatchback. When I went into my credit union to see about getting a car loan back in June, I was denied because I have low income but the girl told me that all I needed was a cosigner. So since I'm in the internship now, I really need a vehicle because I have a weird schedule and my parents work during the week. So since my dad worked in the car business for 35 years, he knows a lot of people who own dealerships in town. I found the perfect car and my monthly payment would be $200. So since my dad is friends with the guy that owns the lot and all I thought I needed was a cosigner, he let us take the car on Saturday. Well now the credit union is saying that even though I have a cosigner, I still can't afford it (which isn't true) even though the girl told me that's all I needed! Apparently all a cosigner does is lower your interest rate?! I thought a cosigner was on the loan with you, so if you dont pay it, its on them? I already have a credit score above 700, I just have low income. So now I am waiting to hear back from my dads friend, he's trying a different approach to getting me a loan. I guess credit unions don't have as many things they can do to approve loans or something. That still doesn't excuse the fact that the girl told me all I needed was a cosigner.

Awww Kalebs I know that with some loans they are only allowed to let you have a payment within a certain % of your monthly income and they can't go over that so you have enough to live on. BUT there is I believe some first time car buyers loans so don't give up hope. The car dealer will prolly get you into one of those

Kaleb don't give up yet it's a lot harder to get a loan through a credit union and you have to have excellent income even with a cosigner. I know this because that's how I got my car my husband consigned for me through our cu. Now through a dealer your interest rates will be higher which raises the pmt but they can do 7 year loans to...

Man, that chaps my cheeks kiddo. I can totally understand your disappointment, I'd be so angry! She was misinformed and instead of being double sure she was giving you the correct info, she dropped the ball big time. That's not right. I will (and I know you are too) continue to pray over it, God knows you need a car, I guess He probably just has a slightly different plan in mind, I'm sure it will come through, one way or another, try not to stress on it.

Ouch! Did they send you out for fieldwork today? I was thinking you'd be at the desk for some time, before you were back in the saddle so to speak. Hope the ice does the trick, and that you get some relief.

Me, well I threw my back out somehow, so I had a struggle of a day myself. I actually originally strained my back last week, had one day of bad pain, but then it was better, this morning I could barely get up out of bed. I was pretty good for the most part, as long as I didn't have to sit down.

See God always knows what's best and thank goodness you got turned down at the credit union or you wouldn't have the lower rate and payment! I am the worst at having patience with God and his time frame but when I am it always pays off! When one door closes another always openes! I'm so happy for you sweetie!
