This is a weird request but I would like to ask a few of the seasoned members about something.
I have been frauded by one or two people, I think it's one posing as two. When I started I accidently put "Money Order" as an option for purchasing.

In my haste to ship out orders for people I didn't notice that one person ordered quite a bit with this payment method. I did then notice and they promised they'd send the MO, I trusted them and shipped the product. I then thought I had shut off the option but I did not.

A few days later someone else with the same email address but different address did the same thing for more product, this was during a time when I was really busy and again I didn't notice. I never received payment from this person(s)

I emailed and was told they would send the money and look into the other "person" who orders. It's been two months.

My question is, what should I do? Or is there anything I can do?
Should I out them on ECF? Tell other sellers?

I am still new to all this but the loss of product set me back quite a bit.
Essentially they took YOUR money because as you know, I pump all the "profit" back into buying new items. Not only did it take the edge off of my ability to trust people, but it also hurt the ability to offer items cheaper.

Any ideas?

Oh Eric! You are such an honorable supplier here. I know I get ALL my go-go stuff from you. You are always helping and making sure things are right with your customers. Personally, I would email this person back, give them 10 days to either pay-pal you or mail (with tracking number) the MO or you will notify ECF. That is bogus to take advantage of another member of ECF. Unfortunately, though, as an assistant manager for a very very large retail chain, I learned that people can be soooo dishonest.

I would PM an ECF mod and ask them if it's okay to out them first and would ECF stand behind you. I know they don't put up with bad stuff from either suppliers or members and may arbitrate for you. Unfortunately you can't trust people and the few that do take advantage mess it up for the good ones. Do we know this person?

I totally agree with Bill on this one... This wasn't an accident it was done with Malicious intent and should not be tolerated. And please no matter how hard it is, DO NOT SHIP UNTIL PAYMENT HAS BEEN MADE. We don't want to loose you as a supplier :)

Did you take any of the stainless ones apart and remove the filler to see how they are made and what exactly the difference is between the stainless and the powdercoated? I'd sure like to know if there is any difference in filler density, filler material and coil placement.

Edit to add: I know that when I first started ordering the Chopper tanks they came with gold-based cartos that didn't work very well, for very long. I took them apart and they were built using a totally different process with totally different materials. Coil was different. Filler material was different and not very uniform. They had a metal rod alongside the centertube. they didn't have the thin filler wrap at all, instead they had a hole punched through the centertube with a piece of filler stuffed in horizontially. Obviously these were not made by Kanger and if they were, Kanger made an attempt to modify the design to prevent people from rebuilding them. After disassembly, it was obvious that these were designed to be used once and not for very long either. Admittedly and to his credit, Chopper took the gold-based cartos out of circulation quickly and replaced them with what appears to be genuine Kanger cartos. Problem solved and Chopper's tanks are great now as far as I'm concerned.
Sometimes I think that some batches of cartos are like Chevys built after lunch on Fridays. They suffer with quality issues due to operator error. The principle is great but the actual execution is flawed depending on the assemblers of the day. I don't know the exact building process the good folks in China use for making them but I would guess that it's a combination of automated machinery and hand work. The problems I've noticed from reports on ECF is that the filler quantity is inconsistant. Too litle and you get flooding. Too much and the density doesn't allow for proper wicking and you get a burnt taste even with a full carto. sometimes the machine that inserts the filler doesn't press the filler package all the way to the bottom and sometimes the cotton centerwrap is initially positioned too high to wick juice consistantly to the coil. All these problems can be rectified by using the rebuild method and having a good comprehension of how these units actually work. I have not experienced many of these problems with different batches of cartos as I am still using original cartos both in stainless and black paper wrapped from March of this year. I bought in quantity at that time and in all honesty, the rebuild method works very well for me. I've been using the gogo daily as my main vape since early March and I've only had to throw away 7 cartos over that period of time, all for burned out coils.

So here's what I'd do in your situation. I'd disassemble the bad stainless ones and check to see if it is a genuine Kanger. Compare filler size and density with the good powdercoated ones. I've noticed different amounts of filler when I've taken out 10 or so for cleaning and rebuilding all at once.
If it's a genuine Kanger that you can dry burn and refresh the coil then repack it with some filler you know is the right size from a carto you had real good luck with and are waiting to clean and rebuild. Note: I always save my fillers from cartos that have burned out the coil. Also you can repack the suspect carto with Fluval. Just make sure you use the cotton wrap with it. Fluval is less dense and I cut it 1/3rd wider and 1/3rd longer than the original filler on a good carto. (After splitting the fluval pad lengthwise into thirds)
I'll be very interested to hear the results of the teardown and what you find in the way of materials. I know it's a pain but gogo nation has a track record of finding answers and solutions for any glitches that appear in the system.

Yeah these definitely appear to be the Chinese equivilent to a "Friday-after-lunch-Chevy". I have been doing rebuilds since you psoted your methods so as soon as I am able to, I will autopsy a couple. There is no doubt in my mind that there is either less filler (in both height and length) or a less dense material too. As we have shared on the Ego-type forums, I can get 90+ drops in a new black one and then another 10-12 after it sits over night. For these to be barley 60% of the length of the tube tells me it is shorter as the "thermometer shake" settles it down to almnost half of the carto tube.

I haven't recovered my juice back from the ones in question so I'll post back when I have done that. Also, the only notice of the contact post is that they appear more loose. They aren't shorter but definitely free wigglers!

I suppose my 27 years in law enforcement that put me in the shape I am in (or not in more appropriately) has jaundiced my view on some topics. Stealing is one of them. I truly understand how mortified a parent can be to get into your car and find that your small chilkd has "lifted" a shiny from the check out but this is 180 degrees different.

You have one or more person(s) who have deliberately set out with the very clear purpose to appropriate goods/merchandise not lawfully theirs to their own personal use/benefit. That my friend is theft. Period. I know you're a good guy and I mean that sincerely but you have to draw the line at some point.

Even if your business were mature enough to be able to absorb losses like this, letting it slide only means that the individual(s) are only emboldened to rip off another person. Doing your best to keep others from getting screwed is something I think is proper for a man of integrity like yourself. In short, I agree with my friend BillB and others: 1. Don't ship until payment is secured and 2. Burn these bastages.

This is the same type of individual that advertises a 250 dollar mod in the classifieds and sells it to several folks. By "outting" them, you are doing us all a favor without malice towards the rotters.

I agree. I would definitely out them publicly on ECF, but only after finding out the policy of ECF. I wouldn't want to see you lose any privileges here because of a violation of some kind. This is all assuming that a reasonable period of time has passed to give them the opportunity of doing what's right. If not, give them a deadline to do right and demand it. If that time has already gone by - BURN THEM.

If you allow methods of payment other than credit cards, I would suggest that you have money in your hand before shipping any goods.

Eric, you are a far better human being than I!!! I'd be out for blood!

Outing them on a forum should be the LEAST consequence. This is criminal behavior. I would contact some law enforcement authority. Being an internet order qualifies this as some sort of wire fraud, does it not? Maybe someone here with some legal expertise could be of some help.

Whoa! Didn't expect this kind of response LOL :)
I gave them ample opportunity to contact me to pay up or at least say they made a mistake or couldn't afford it due to financial situation... any of that would have been fine for me.

I agree with the majority here on many counts and I think I'll contact ECF and see what I can or cannot do. I don't want to see this happen to another vendor. And yes, I do believe we "know" the person here.

Please note, the fault lies mainly with me as I offered (mistakenly) the payment option.
It could be that this person(s) actually was going to pay but ended up not being able to and is now just embarrassed by the whole thing. I don't want to go all Chuck Norris on them or anything until I know for sure. :)

Thanks Tom for the offer of LEI, but I'd end up putting too much time into something like that I think.

Anyway, moving on, I should have some new stuff this week hopefully.

The Chinese had yet another holiday this week, I think it ends on the 5th? So things were delayed. I do not have the adapters in yet and I have a boatload of orders that include them. If I do not receive them, I will ship what I have and then ship the adapters later.

There's talk in another thread about this battery being able to be recharged on an eGo charger. Does anyone know if that's the case and have they tried it?
